    So glad people are starting to see the cracks in Trev Alberts. He destroyed so many programs at UNO he is still a hated man by so many. Trev “only cares about winning”!???? How about canceling the Wrestling program while they were literally on the mat celebrating the National Title??? Just one of many examples good riddance!!!

    Thanks for putting in perspective the amount of young talent we do have, it does suck losing out on some of the 4-5 stars but until we start winning and the NIL spikes up we can't expect these guys to chance us. Like you said with Dawson, if he gets the same family feeling at Alabama, a better NIL deal, and a team that's already competing for championships why would he come here? The fact these guys are taking visits and even hearing us out is proof we are going in the right direction, just need that extra oomph from getting W's. Who knows maybe Terry and those linemen commit and prove me wrong, I hope so lol.

    Good lord, way back when I was in 8th grade, I could throw a football at least 50 yards. I also weighed like 110lbs when I graduated from 8th grade. Playing softball, I could crush a ball that would be Home Runs in a Collegiate Field. I broke one of those 'black bats,' when I hit a ball that ended up landing half way into the field adjacent to the school. I think you needed to toss some more Hay when you were a kid. During haying season, I'd be tossing bales up onto the stack that weighed more than I did. Granted, 4 yrs later, when I joined the Army, I threw a 32 oz Hand Grenade, over 85 M, I got to watch the TV show of my choice, which was the 1994 Kick Off Classic.

    As a concerned Husker fan, I'll shed some light on when why we're concerned about recruiting. And it is worry, I don't think there's a lot of panic. People understand that it kind of is what it is.
    1. Because it doesn't matter if there are 80 true and redshirt freshmen, the 2025 class is a different class. At no top school in the country would you ever hear them say "It's okay that this class is weak because we did well the past few years." No, if there's a year that recruiting doesn't go well, coaching staffs are concerned and recognize it will be a problem. You can get some guys out of the portal, but if you look at most of Nebraska's starters, those are players at a caliber that you struggle to get in the portal. You can make up for it, but it's a deficit.
    2. As far as we can tell, Nebraska failed to get a lot of the top targets on their boards. Not just pie-in-the-sky guys that you have to offer, but guys that came here or were supposed to come here on OVs that we actually thought we could get like Choice, Pierzak, Riles, or the Bishop Gorman guys. Instead, we have a bunch of diamonds in the rough. I know Rhule doesn't call them diamonds in the rough, but that's most of what Nebraska's 2025 class is. You don't look at that group and see a bunch of dudes that look like they could be a Lenhardt, a Princewill, a VanPoppel, or a Coleman. You don't have a lot of the verified blue chips. You look there and see a bunch of guys that you say "Alright, these are guys that are going to take some time to develop and maybe they'll work out."
    3. Sipple always talks about the importance of recruiting what types of players? Bigs. Look at what we have. Unless we get more bigs, then between the 25 class, the true freshman, and the redshirt freshmen, we have 6-7 really scholarship-level defensive linemen. That's not nearly as many as you'd like. And with the offensive line, even if we get Tapu, he's really more of a '27 recruit. I know that there are things you guys can and can't say, but let's be honest. If Nebraska gets like 2 offensive linemen, and not guys they had high on their boards, nobody's going to look back at it and say "Yeah, that was a win for Nebraska." It's not just bigs either. Linebacker looks troubling. Even if you get Hawthorne, having 2 Linebackers 2 years in a row isn't ideal. You pretty much want to get Jones no matter what to stack good players.
    It's not like it's a total disaster, and I'm sure some good players will come out of this class, but given how poorly things have gone for Nebraska, and the fact it could be coming out of June with 11-14 recruits with limited guys left on their boards, it's not ideal.

    @AnthonyT50 Před 6 dny +2

    This class was always going to be small. I think they have been focusing on the 4 and 5* players to keep the quality high and make up for all the kids they will lose after this year.

      Yup.
      It was the beginning of the end. When the local beat writers were beating him down I knew what was up…like you say…we saw it about a decade earlier ..
      What’s crazy is how a University, under different leaderships, obviously blew it with the Frankie and saw all the negatives and just how bad things could be, make a decision in almost the exact fashion 10 years later!!!
      I’m not sure a school in the middle of the country that’s not on tv more or outdoing everyone in facilities or strength and conditioning can consistently recruit at a level to remain a “traditonal power”….
      They have history but colleges have history and all of these semantics have shelf lives ….its going to remain hard to recruit unless the players we have now can ball out and field a top 10 team…or Nebraska ponies up and gets its NIL in order before they regulate it.

    I love the freshman football talk, with the coaching rule changes, we have to make this happen. If they can make JV games happen in NAIA and D3 why not the big ten. Play the games for free, put it on youtube and we would see big number views. I watch you guys on youtube I would sure as hell watch freshman play football. If you guys are doing the play by play, 2X more views with Sip and his creamsicle shirts he would be like Craig Saeger.

Must be nice to have this much free time while lazing around in your parents basement.....I'm pretty sure they really do not want their 40 year old son still living with them.
