Mason is healthy this year,that is the difference .He has always been an elite wrestler but fought injury's last year and still was an AA. He was a national runner up to gable as a sophmore.
I don’t think that’s the entire story. His technique is different this year. More dynamic, more side-to-side mixed in with his strong forward movement, better reactions, great leg defense against Kerkvliet. I don’t think it’s just an injury
His technique is different this year because he’s not injured like he was most of last year. If he was healthy last year , he would of been a runner up to Gable 2 years in a row . He would of finished the last 3 years 2,2,1 after going 202-1 in high school. Mason has always been elite.
