    Hi, I used the remove you headlining video as mine had gone beyond repair, worth every penny (£8.84). Could you please add to the video if you have an avant, there were some tricky bits with the rear trim, is it easier if you remove the boot wall? I scrubbed off the old foam and used a spray adhesive to fix foam backed material to the headlining moulding.

      Thank you for your support - it's very much appreciated. We can only continue to do what we do with support from people such as yourself - so big up! The headlining removal video covers everything in-depth, including all rear sections. Did you buy the saloon version by mistake?? Glad you got yourself sorted, and thank you again for your support!

    Am I right in saying i need to replace this unit if the middle on/off switch doesn't turn on the lights? The lights go on and off upon opening and closing the doors and the map light switch on and off fine. Just the main switch doesn't seem to be working...
    Thanks

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  Před 5 lety

      Hey there! Yes, my first guess would be a faulty main switch. If you pop it out and have a look you may well be able to short the connector pins to mimic the switch action. If you rock the switch around can you sometimes get it to switch on (or flash on)? If so, the switch could be dirty.

    Question, my panel literally broke and is hanging, but I have the sunroof option on my 07 A4. Would it still be okay to take it apart without adversely affecting the sunroof in staying closed?

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  Před 4 lety

      Yes, you can remove the control panel no problem. Best option would be to buy a used one on eBay as pretty cheap there, and just swap it over. The panel with the sunroof control is pretty similar to remove as this one.

      Hey there! Unfortunately we are not covering the B9 platform just yet. We are hoping to be able to expand Total Technik to cover additional models, but it's not a cheap undertaking and our expansion will be solely reliant on the support we receive from our viewers.
      Hopefully we can cover that model in the not-too-distant future!

    Could you not simply feed the entire plastic assembly back through the rectangular opening in the headliner? No need to disconnect any wires then.

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  Před 6 lety

      Hey there. Possibly. It depends upon what you are trying to do. If you need to remove the light panel from the car for replacement or repair etc then obviously no. But if you are removing the headlining panel for example and don't 'need' to remove this light panel then yes in theory, why not :-)

      Provided we get enough support from our viewers we can continue forward and expand the range of models that we cover :-)

    Thank you for the info. I'm gonna buy me a spray adhesive and try to fix my textile cover. It began to detach from the front, i'll try and stop it before it spreads.
    Thanks again.

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  Před 4 lety

      Excellent - glad you found the content useful! You may need something stronger than a spray adhesive and can be tricky to make a tidy job especially with a hard-setting glue or a glue with any thickness to it. But definitely worth a try at fixing as it does tend to spread (expand) over time. Best of luck!
