They've now got a specific manual on their site for these amps. Two points I noticed - "Optimal Tone: To get the best possible tone from your FLY 3 CHARGE, please unplug the charging cable before use. The process of charging can affect the quality of your guitar tone." "To protect the life of your battery, please remember to unplug the FLY 3 CHARGE when it's fully charged or *when you wish to use it* " So looks like it would theoretically be possible to play while charging, but not recommended.
These are my go to teaching/practicing amps when I don’t want to burn through my tube amps while shedding

You would need a preamp if you were using a regular microphone. Aux inputs work with amplified signals.
