    Great !
    I also like old coins,specially the antic greeks tetradrachms with big relief and awesome engraving skills.
    Also the Lydia,Celtic,bysantine,gold royal (like Franc a cheval),Thalers,roubles and somes rare coins from the XX century.
    A lot of fakes exist,somes old fakes and somes coins with a incredible story (in Afghanistan the gold decadrachms).
    Today the History is really important to know,all civilisations will disapear.

      Arli Kokalari illyrian coins were minted in Ancient Greece . They paid Greek coin makers to make lots of coins for them as they were the best at doing that.

    I have a silver tetadrachm but it’s not entirely round 323-281bc. Is that normal? it has Alexander the great in the front and a lady holding an bird or an angel at the back. How to test if it is genuine. The seller I got it from is genuine and good reviews but the coloring of it makes me think as its not as shiny silver as yours.

    • @Trustedcoins
      @Trustedcoins  Před 5 lety

      Ancients did the coin striking by hand so irregularities do happen. In regards to authenticity issues, you can send the coin to www.NGCCoin.com
      Anybody else's opinion is not as strong and world-recognized.
      If you become an ANA member, you can submit without getting a membership with them which is certainly a great option. - www.ngccoin.com/about/industry-affiliates/american-numismatic-association/
      Personally because I submit a lot, I have their Elite membership because it gives a 10% discount
      www.ngccoin.com/about/about-ngc/ to learn about them
      I trust their opinions and find getting things graded by them helps me get higher prices.

  • @CryptoAvengerTV
    @CryptoAvengerTV Před 6 lety +1

    I collect buy and sell coins I like Roman and greek I usually get ngc graded I'd be worried of getting counterfeits how can one tell they are genuine?

    • @Trustedcoins
      @Trustedcoins  Před 6 lety

      Good question. Other than buying NGC graded coins, you can buy them from a reputable dealer such as myself with years of experience whom also tries to deal with others of similar qualification. So basically you have a coin that has my lifetime guarantee of authenticity, and you are welcome to send into NGC for a an extra opinion. My eBay store with over 15000 items is stores.ebay.com/Authentic-Ancient-Greek-Roman-Coins where you will find unslabbed and slabbed coins. There are several books on the subject you can find on Amazon and possibly some forums. The Romans said caveat emptor or buyer beware, so best recommendation is to deal with reputable people for whom their reputation comes first and who want only satisfied customers.

    The Alexander Tetradrachm has Heracles wearing the skin of the Neiman lion on the obverse, not Hercules.. I'm sure he already knew this but he's not the first person I've heard make this mistake

  • @melissadill-barnett7975

    I have a lot of these coins, I haven’t gone to see if they’re real but can you tell me around what they’re worth? I’ve watched a hundred videos and can’t find jack

    • @hermanbrowndog5503
      @hermanbrowndog5503 Před 4 lety

      Melissa Dill-Barnett That’s the problem with ancient coins. They have no intrinsic value and comparative values are hard to establish. They’re worth what you’re willing to pay and the seller is willing to accept.

    this isnt so much a guide so much as it is just u describing ur collection. i have know idea witch coins are more common than others, witch are more valuable, witch are less or more common like this is by no means a guide.

    • @Trustedcoins
      @Trustedcoins  Před 4 lety

      Good point, if you want reference books, as that sounds like what you may be looking for, see my other video on the subject: czcams.com/video/pX4Eh-EbMOU/video.html
      Look up the coins in books and see their relative rarity. The free market decides the prices and not some reference guide. Regarding it being a guide, the coins are being described and why they are interesting. That is my way of being guide on the subject is by showing real life genuine coins for you to get to know the subject better and if interested buy them, or get a reference works on the subject to learn more.
