😂 it's (central courtyard or Nadumuttam or Thotti vaasal) a common design followed all over south India. In Kerala's Naalukettu the house will have very dim light.
@@samwienska1703in my house we have naalukettu. And its very bright. Naalu kettu is where 4 sides of the house sorrounds a central space open space.
@@TheUniverse245technically you're right. But the traditional Naalukettu will have dim light inside the house (except the central courtyard or Nadumuttam). Watch any old Malayalam movies or search for any very old Naalukettu in Kerala.
The bright light concept of Nalukettu is a modern thing that may be an inspiration from other South Indian central courtyard houses like Chettinad style, Nadumuttam veedu or Thottivaasal veedu, etc.
@@samwienska1703as i said earlier our ancestral house is a proper naalukettu veedu. It has sunlight entry during the day. So its very bright. In movies mostly they show same tharavadu house. But thats not a generalised version. I have seen chettinad houses with dim light.
@@samwienska1703 the house shown in this video have lots of elements inspired from Kerala house architecture, starting from padipura , ummaram, sopanam etc.
