He took the Pmic off and then checked prob a power circuit going into the cpu and it was still shorted. So he pulled the cpu and checked again and the short went away
@@ronlevin2339 possibly, I don’t think the cpus are paired like on apple so a donor would prob do. A reball could fix tho, esp if they put the black under fill and poor heat dissipation. Overheating expands the solder but the black underfill takes up the extra space so it spreads and shorts
Wonder if you can check the power contacts on the cpu to ground contacts and see if the cpu is shorted before having to go through the pain reballing. It’s not an apple, also wonder if you can just buy a new balled cpu and throw it on

@@ivandrago1267 The drum (bonding pad above the CPU that connects RAM) was not reballed perfectly. If the CPU is short, it can't be repaired
