    UPDATE: THIS VIDEO MADE BEFORE 28.1 which has new NVENC encoder presets (P1-P7). I will make a new video in the future. Stay tuned!
    New video!

    *THANK YOU* for doing this side by side comparison. CZcams is filled with "pro streamers" giving their opinions about what's the "best" streaming resolution and settings with nothing to back it up except "I'm a pro and I say this is the best", but no actual data or demonstration of why.
    In your video, you can clearly see how lower resolution at higher bitrate can look better than higher resolution at lower bitrates, depending on factors like framerate. I appreciate you.

    Hey I was wondering what would be the best obs set up for me. I have a 1 monitor (1440p) set up, Nvidia RTX 4070 ti graghics card, AMD Ryzen 7 5800x 8-Core Processor & my internet speed is 500 Mbps download & 87 Mbps upload minimum

    • @wrywndp
      @wrywndp  Před rokem +2

      I see you like playing DbD, the game itself is pretty dark which is harder to encode compared to the bright scene. For streaming on twitch try streaming at 1080p with NVENC P7 preset with psyco-visual tuning on, and two passes (full resolution or quarter) with 6Mbps to 8Mbps (if you could do that but it will burden the viewer with low bandwidth if your video doesn't have transcode). If it's still not good try lowering the resolution to 1792x1008, 1664x936, 1536x864, 1408x792 or 1280x720. Or try with x264 Medium (CPU) for better encoding especially with foliage (grass, leaf, etc.)

    Sorry, can't see the difference between 864 and 1080 on fullhd display😁
    And where is 936p?
    And what is 1k bitrate doing here?))

    • @wrywndp
      @wrywndp  Před rokem

      full hd display on what size? because the smaller the display (like smartphone screen) the harder to notice the difference. BUT even in my 27 inch 1440p monitor, the difference is small.
      so, don't be sorry. If you want to know where the difference between those two resolutions, look at the text quality at the top right (the time counter), bottom right (mini map), and top left (network statistic).
      I didn't test it at 936p, so no 936p maybe next time when I have time to test it with more recent OBS version since this is recorded with old version

    i play and record at 1440p via OBS (RTX 2080 Super / 3700X).
    I have 10MBps upload speed. Should I remain / rescale at 720p 60fps streaming with 6000kbps (OBS + Restream on Twitch + CZcams) or should i rescale it to 1080p 60fps, to avoid blocky graphics and stutter but being more taxing to viewers with lower bandwith?

    • @wrywndp
      @wrywndp  Před rokem +2

      Assuming you play FPS games.
      For recording only just use CQP 20-24 at 1080p.
      if you want to streaming and recording at the same time, use (x264) CBR at 5000-6000kbps at 1080p and (NVENC) CQP 20-24 at 1080p.
      If you are a small streamer just use 720p 60fps with 4000kbps for streaming since not every streamer get transcoding on Twitch

    • @TheRealSkeletor

      Are you a Twitch Partner? If not, it's way better to stream at 864p60 at 6k bitrate, it will look way less blocky than what you've been seeing.

  • @zitygonecrazy
    @zitygonecrazy Před rokem +1

    Hello, if i have consistent 8mbps, will 4000 bitrate good for 720p60fps work?

    • @wrywndp
      @wrywndp  Před rokem +1

      Connection-wise, yes. My rule of thumb is max 60% of the total upload speed for online games and max 80% for offline games.
      Quality-wise, it depends on the game you play. Games that have many foliage like theHunter:COTW, PUBG, or have complex texture and effect like APEX, 4000 kbps is not enough BUT still watchable especially if you watch the stream from a smartphone.
      for games that slow like Cities Skylines 4000 kbps is enough for 720p 60fps, but I wouldn't suggest streaming Cities Skylines at 720p 60fps it would be better to stream that kind of game at 1080p 30fps.
      AND that's on Twitch, streaming on CZcams you need more bandwidth for that. Unlike Twitch, CZcams will compress your video again before serving it to the viewer.

    • @wrywndp
      @wrywndp  Před rokem +1

      assuming you're using OBS to record or streaming your gaming session:
      for recording use p4 or p5, and it is enough since you will, should, and have to use CQP for superior quality and performance than CBR.
      for streaming use p7 for better bitrate efficiency.

I just watched it on my phone (android) using youtube app because I thought it would be hard to notice since the smaller the device the harder to notice just like the quality between various bitrate, but not the case with fps, I can easily tell the difference with fps.
      I asked the device you're using when gaming it's because after reading a bunch of forums, there are many people who using the console and handheld as their gaming device hard to notice between 30fps and 60fps because they are used to play with 30fps.
      Also, are you watched this video at least in 720p? because below that the fps of this video will be 30fps (like 480p, 360p, etc)
