Honestly.. I have tried almost everything to look younger + delay aging as much as possible, anything from face exercises, diff creams, vitamin C serum, Fraxel, collagen supplements and of course Retin A (7 years straight), home devices and what not. However, nothing made any real difference compared to the high-quality derma pen I purchased for under 100 bucks. Within 3 months of use, my skin has improved DRAMATICALLY. I don't look like I'm 18 again, but definitely not 41 either. My fine lines have disappeared completely, and my nasolabial folds are way less are nonexist (Never had jowls though). People often underestimate the power of wounding and the revolutionary effects it can have on the skin.

+1 for kora beauticaIs. I've been doing microneedling since it started 12 or so years ago. Nobody believe I am 55. They all say I am in my 30's or early 40's. As you know, as we get old, our skin gets thinner therefore creating wrinkles. But the wounding kept my skin still thick and youthful. Your comment will help so many women to restore their skin..

I’m really grateful for every birthday.
But I also want to feel cared for, and I think skincare has helped me heal some of my self care skills.
I use dermatica most days, and a niacinamide moisturiser or rose hip oil depending upon how dry I’m feeling.
I use a gentle cleanse and sunscreen in the morning.
Sometimes I use bakuchiol when I can’t use retinoids/retinol because my skin is too sensitive.
Basically I hide from the sun, use my retinoids, and try not to die, and hope I keep feeling good. I honestly don’t care if I look awful as long as I feel good and I have my family.

One thing I would also add to keeping your skin well is to keep hydrated! Drinking water (or any fluids in general) not only keeps your skin looking as good as it can along with skin health is a key tip! And along with these good skincare tips are a plus. My go to’s are always hydration, moisturising and sun protection.

  • @TaoMoksha

I agree with you on eye creams. After seeing so many ppl say that they're useless, I tried using face moisturizers from the same line as my eye cream around my eyes and it wasn't the same. It would sting my eyes and wasn't hydrating enough. I like to put thick creams under my eyes but not my face, especially during the daytime and summer when it's hot. So yeah, after that trial I decided to keep using my favourite eyes creams.

I found your channel and had never taken skincare seriously, but that's changed. I started a routine about a month ago, just a pretty basic one. I have already noticed quite a difference in skin texture and hydration. It is too early for the other promised effects to be noticeable yet. I have noticed one benefit you haven't really mentioned, though, and this is one that has been huge for me. I've always been the take care of other people type of person and rarely take a moment for myself. Doing my skincare routine allows me to indulge in a bit of self-care a couple times a day, and carving that time out for me - to take care of me - has also had some profound mental health benefits.

I turn 51 on Saturday (Australian time) and honestly for the last couple of years my main focus has been on keeping my skin healthy rather than trying to reduce lines or wrinkles. The only thing I do that could be considered 'anti-ageing' is use a vitamin c serum to help with perimenopause related pigmentation. I also pay way more attention to what my skin actually needs, and adjust my skincare routine accordingly.
The weather here at the moment is in a bit of a transitional phase, so no longer in the depths of winter, but haven't quite hit spring weather yet, and this is my current morning and evening skincare routine:
    Morning:
    1) Initial cleanse with Milk of Roses 'toner' (1811 recipe made with almond oil, glycerine, rosewater, gum benjamin and oil of tartar ) using a cotton pad (I use fairly heavy creams at night so I find my skin needs a first cleanse in the morning)
    2) Cleanse with Sukin Roeship Nourishing Cream Cleanser. Gentle manual exfoliation with a soft wash cloth if needed)
    3) Pat on a toner depending on what my skin needs (1914 rosewater and glycerine recipe, if my skin needs some extra hydration - 1833 'Virgin's Milk' recipe made with rosewater, gum of benjamin, and balm of gilead if my skin needs more soothing for things like redness and irritation)
    4) Apply Simple brand Vitamin C serum
    5) Moisturise with Oil of Olay sensitive skin moisturiser
(SPF 50+ sunscreen if I'm going out)
    Evening:
    1) First cleanse with Orange Flower Cold Cream (1887 recipe made with almond oil, jojoba oil, orange blossom water, and beeswax), remove with a warm damp soft (non exfoliating) face cloth
    2) Second cleans with From Tree to Tub Soap Berry for Face Foaming Cleanser
    3) Toner same as above, depending on skin needs
    4) Apply Vitamin C serum
    5) Moisturise with Oil of Olay sensitive skin moisturiser. Wait for moisturiser to absorb fully.
    6) 'Slug' with a 'night cream' depending on what my skin needs (1822 Cream of Roses made with almond oil, jojoba oil, rosewater, rose oil, beeswax and lard, if my skin needs soothing for irritation and redness - 1884 Glycerine Cream made with golden jojoba, attar of rose, almond oil, beeswax, and glycerine, if my skin needs some extra hydration - 1896 'Cleopatra's Enamel' made with almond oil, rose water, myrrh, honey, rose oil and beeswax if my skin just needs an overall good extra moisturising)

Apparently, the best age to start Botox for it to help with developing fine lines and wrinkles is 26 years old! And then you have to keep it up. It’s a grim, but true reality that we all get older and our skin will age. I’ve told everyone I know that prevention is better than cure. Botox wasn’t mainstream when I was 26, but skincare was! You’re never too young to start using anti aging skincare. I was around 20 when I started and at 44, I get compliments. I’m happy with that! 😊
