    I got T-Mobile a couple weeks ago and brought it with me in my RV and cap about 100 miles away from home. It worked great, no configuration just plug in the power and a few minutes later lightning speed. I will be traveling to another direction about q00 miles away and try it there and see how it works. It was $30 a month and I was able to talk them in giving me a $150 rebate card which brings the price down to $20 a month for 15 months.

      that's just thing they say lol. verizon said the same thing and it still works every where i take it. it would be impossible for them to lock it any way. because that isn't how these services works in general. and tmoble shares towers they don't have their own most of the time so it would be impossible for them to control that anyway i think they said this because people call with issue because they take them some where the signal is weak and don't tell the people their not at home so it becomes a bigger issue.

  • @starvingrtist8714
    @starvingrtist8714 Před 2 měsíci

    I heard while both can work away from home base, Verizon throttles the speed if you are away from the home address. Maybe that's why your Verizon is much slower than Tmobile in that location.

  • @ryker86
    @ryker86 Před 2 měsíci +1

    I'm curious: if you pick a random address, how did you receive the device? Or, for that matter, wouldn't your billing information be sent to the random address?

    • @ryker86
      @ryker86 Před 2 měsíci

      Just to add some clarity to this: During sign-up, you'll need to provide two addresses: one for billing and shipping, and another for where you'll actually use the service. While you can technically enter any address within the service area, it's not recommended. Here's why: they might use geolocation to verify your device's location. If it doesn't match the service address, they could cancel your service or switch you to a more expensive roaming plan.

    • @EarlBalentine
      @EarlBalentine Před rokem

      @@gutWrench9mm Most hwy large cell towers might be able to reach 25-45 miles. It also depends on what type of receiving antenna you have, a cell phone internal antenna or a large 4'X' foot cell external cell phone antenna.

    • @EarlBalentine
      @EarlBalentine Před rokem

      You will get service where ever there is cell service. The antennas on the gateway are stronger than the one on your phone. So if your cell phone has service at the North Pole then your internet service will work too. Check the carriers coverage map. On the main US interest highways cell phone antennas are place several miles apart, I sure at some marina there might be an antenna pointing out to the water but that all depends on the location. Here's a tip though, a new iPhone 14 has satellite service built into it for 911 emergency calls. So you would have the ability to call 911 from a canoe on the Amazon river.

Low enough latency that one of my guys can play his PS5 at home remotely from his phone while we're traveling 80mph. He connects to the wifi cause he's on Mint Mobile so his data is capped.
