Only Elvis could sing gospel in SIN City.
Elvis' voice was great forever.
One of the best ever. Seamed like better days back then. At least simpler. Never be another Elvis. ❤
Elvis's voice never got strained or weak. It just got better. Listen to how great thou art in 1977 his last concert. Only got better my friend. His body failed him , but his voice never faild him.
Ya know when I saw Elvis on TV when I was 5, who would've ever known that 66 years later I'm still getting my Elvis fixes. *Thank you* for keeping our guy alive.
Elvis a classic Icon that will never fade.
I saw Elvis in concert in 1977. He sang “Hurt” and brought the house down. Also, listen to “Unchained Melody”. His body may have failed him but his beautiful voice was with him until the very end.
You are 100 percent correct.
Absolutely magnificent Elvis the G.O.A.T.
The very saddest part of life is when the person who gave you the absolute best memories became a memory !
I have said that many times- SO TRUE!
Well, we're just passing through this world 🌎🌍 One Sweet ❤️🎂 day, we will see our Elvis in heaven. Blessings!!!! 🙏 😇🎉
@@sheilaseeber2007 I think about that very often !
Timothy Brock - you are so right!
❤
Chills all over my body when I hear this song . Listening to Elvis all the time is like falling in love with him all over again. It never gets old.
❤
I used to teach voice and I could analise his voice technically. But.....when I listen his voice I only imagine his mouth moving, his breathing so alive. and handsome!.... His face always sweating and I just wish I could've seen him at least once. And I thank God for all the music, videos, footages etc... left by him. Our eternal Prince from Another Planet 🙌🙏⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡
As a vocal coach what do you nice about his voice?
@@ElvisistheMan_ If I was his teacher, I wouldn't do a thing. Except stay there in awe of him just mesmerized by his sweetness, and all of a sudden, rusticity/wildness, ferociousness etc.... And then back to sweet again. And when he reaches his lowest, he can go right back to his highest pitch. Every song is never average. It's mountains and valleys. While you are giving me full attention, maybe you could tell us something about the time when Elvis lost his crown. Did it affect his vocal chords?
I seen THE KING in concert 13 times went back stage 5 times this man was SO humble he was the greatest performer who ever lived his music lives today ...He loved his fans and He gave his fans his ALL....
Plus he took the time to interact with the crowd never dening any woman a kiss
Elvis will always be the King. His death was tragic but his songs live on. That is why he earned the name King of Rock and Roll. As a fan I miss him dearly. I was at Graceland the day he died. I could see so much generosity when all his neighbors had Cadillac cars in the driveways. They were given to them from Elvis. He had an amazing heart of humility to always help someone out. And I am sure his neighbors loved him because of his generous heart. As a fan, beginning when I was very young and now 68 years old my love for Elvis will never die. He is still with us every day looking down from Heaven and seeing how so many people loved him. We miss you Elvis.
The bottom line is when he was well rested, his voice was top notch, supreme. Fatigue and medication were his enemy. Thanks for another great video!
No problem!
You are also very great Elvis. Love you so much forever. From Mauritius 🇲🇺 ♥ 2023
I know many think Elvis was at his best with the Aloha concert but, although he sounds great, I can hear a difference in his voice. I think his health really began to decline around this time. From reading a lot about Elvis from many sources, he endured a drastic means to lose weight for the televised concert and pretty much collapsed after it was over. The drug dependency was accelerated by his very serious health problems and the combination of the two sped up the whole thing. Elvis always did his best and had some amazing performances during this time but his band members and audiences could tell he wasn’t doing well. It just is so sad that such an amazing man endured so much pain and sorrow but tried to hide it from everyone.
I am sorry. But, I loved his voice better from 68 to the end. Very mature and sexy voice ❤
68 was great. I just don’t know how he would’ve sounded singing American Troligy for instance
Later that year Elvis was "resting" for awhile and recorded for example "Lovin' Arms" and that is why it is one of the best of his songs vocally.
Yeah, that note at the end of the song is fantastic. Similar to “Miracle of your Rosary” in 1971. Do you know what I’m talking about?
@@ElvisistheMan_ Yes, I certainly do. Got the vinyl album Good Times and two vinyl versions of Elvis Now plus a CD as well. Know the lyrics by heart...❤
@@jounisyrjanen2226 Wow, I couldn’t agree more ..I have those albums also, love vinyl!
@@ElvisistheMan_ personally if you know Elvis you can tell the difference between the July sessions 73 and the December sessions . Except for Loving Arms, I've Got A Thing About You Baby, Old Times Sake, but the December ones wow!! I love Promised Land, Honky Tonk Angel, personally my favorite one which I thing it was the one to be recorded is If That Isn't Love
I have been listening to Elvis for the last 52 years. As a child it was Elvis records, than Elvis movies on tv, than later on dvd’s and cd’s, I have heard his songs over and over thousands of times… my point being, each time I hear his songs , I get chills !!! Definitely enjoyed this brother 👌👍💯⚡️⚡️⚡️
💯
His voice is incredible on How Great Thou Art. Good video
That was such an amazing performance.
Elvis voice is phenomenal here! I feel he sounded the best from 1968 to 1973. Excellent video! Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it
Elvis Presley is great Ginger
My all time favorite Elvis song 🎵 I just love 💘 Love this!!! This is a Great version of this!! Thanks so much for sharing!!
He was so awesome & the greatest entertainer of all time.
Yes he was!! So many attributes that made him the best
Elvis Presley's vocals for me was the best from 1955 - 1972. Now that's not saying from 73-77 his vocals was great but his voice change slightly, Elvis had changed, because of things going on in his lfe through that time period. Now that being said. Elvis Aaron Presley. Is an Icon, A Legend, The Untouchable. The Immortal. The never ending, The greatestof all time ''TCB'' 1935---Untill The End Of Time. Alot of people don't know and understand Elvis Aaron presley was the biggest thiing to hit show business, and the entertaining world ever. He made so many things happen for future artist. Elvis presley had the biggest influence on future artist than anyone. Elvis Aaron Presley Changed the world of music. Elvis Presley's music is timeless
Absolutely magnificent! ✨ Thanks for your Global Service to The Elvis’ Community 👑
The peak was in in 1969. Greetings from Norway
One of his last performances of unchained melody is one of the best ever. He gave his all.
Beautiful!
I agree that 1973 was his best year vocally but for some strange reason 1977 is voice became so much stronger and very powerful..what can i say he will always be the KING.. TCB ⚡⚡⚡👑👑👑
Oh my word!! G.O.A.T!
I used to think that from 68 to 70 were his peak years vocally, but I’m also adding from 60 to 63 or so. In the early 60’s he could hit those high notes so easily it seemed. I think as the 70’s progressed, he had a lot of gems, but his health issues, medications, constant touring, apathy as Lamar Fike said a lot, took a toll. He’s still the greatest singer though.
What can i say overpowering every time ,love it ❤❤🎉🎉
I Absolutely Love how Elvis sang gospel music. And I Love "HOW GREAT THOU ARE"
AND CRYING IN THE CHAPEL. YES HE WAS BLESSED 🙏❤❤
i was privileged to see Elvis in concert 6 times in the 1970's, two of those were in Vegas sitting second row center. He took my breath away with every performance. He was absolutely incredible, a true gift from God.
I can only imagine
Great and fantastic How great thou art❤
At 1:20 his silhouette... you can even tell its him... wow.
Elvis' vocal peak was definitely 1960-65.
My favorite is It Hurts Me (1964). His voice was so clear and touching yet powerful - controlled but lovable. Elvis made you feel his pain.
Elvis was fanastic yes the drugs did take affect him but he was one of akind
I agree with you about the strained voice 71/72. Back in the day I remember buying the Love letters album which was great but then later I was shocked at the quality of his voice when I bought the Christmas album, but as you say his voice was back to exceptional again in 73.
His eye problems and the pain from it was the reason his voice wasn't his normal voice in 71, 72 he was just plain depressed after Priscilla left him. If you listen to his November 1971 and his first few shows in January 1972 his voice and energy were as strong as it was from 68-70
He always looked so much taller than most people around him!
True perfection xx ❤
I agree completely about his voice!👍
I’m glad u can see it too
@@ElvisistheMan_ your the only other person I've heard say that. Ive always thought that too.
A bad day at the mic for Elvis was a great day for 99.9 of other performers. JMO!
check out his version live in '75, it's on a whole other level
Lovely

Just awe inspiring
Thank you so much for posting these videos. ‘Loving Arms’ is a great track from 1973, the way he sings the line ‘dreaming of the arms that held me tight…..’ is just amazing❤

Nice reasoned reaction and I really like the Stax recordings of 1973 where to me his voice is rich, soulful, and entertaining as any period in his career. He never seemed to drop below very good with his gospel songs, and not to sound all knowing but on reflection seemed to perform extra well when his private life was in order e.g. late December 1976..
Eu ainda não entendi por que razão as pessoas não querem assumir que Elvis Presley foi um ser muitíssimo espiritual.? Percorram TODA A VIDA DELE SEM FALTAR UM DETALHE.
Depois ser um enterteiner é problem? Só par quem tem falta de humor . ELVIS PRESLEY FOREVER
This was great. 💕
Great Video, watched till the end! TCB⚡️
Nice!
I saw a video made in 1972 of him singing How Great Thou Art. It was live either on tour it must have been
Probably Hampton roads April 9
1972 was his vocal peak for me
Some great performances there!
Keep in mind Elvis was not recorded well in the studio by Jarvis, one just has to hear the undubed recordings. when you, are not in good health the voice tells you. if you were high from meds or downers the voice will tell you because your mind cannot control the muscles in the throat. Your head swims you cannot focus. Why his voice thinned out for a while is strange because before he died his voice was opera-strong but deeper.
Just amazing!!!
The most beautiful and most talented man ever!!!!!!!!
1971 was more or less especially through July 71 was due to his eye issue and the pain. He really didn't perform much in 71 he actually performed less than he did in 1970. November 71 through January 72 prior to Priscilla leaving him his voice was actually back even stronger than it was in 1970
I really enjoy your ELVISIsthe Man videos
I’m happy you do!
I think Elvis was just so bored, so he entertained himself evermore. His voice was there when his focus was there, so when you hear him do gospel or hurt or It's Midnight and also My Boy. Most of us would struggle with our work when we are going through a separation and Elvis had to put on a face and sadly that mask slipped on occasion. I still love these moments, he had a sense humour and we see him doing similar to what he did when he got bored with the movies and pulling pranks and jokes. There are a few live shows on FTD where you actually think he is a little annoyed with the band or even with the audience, I remember one show where he literally scolds the audience for finally showing some appreciation. There is on FTD release and I am struggling to locate the CD, where Elvis sings I think Bridge Over Trouble water to the air of Suspicious Minds, love to hear your take on that show because he so messed around for like half the show and its funny but kind of sad too. Nice upload and interesting facts.
That show you’re talking about is sept 3 closing show in Vegas. He did Bridge with the Suspicious Minds melody and tell the audience “You finally show some appreciation for something.” Thanks for commenting!
Well I don't think his voice was good when he started out I saw him at 11 years of age I'm 76 his voice only got better
But I always loved every song from the beginning
Good Stuff Brother. Keep em coming. 🎶 🎸 🎙️
Thank, I will brother.
If you can ever find and react to ''An evening prayer''LIVE, I would to hear it and your reaction to those ending high notes. The clarity and pure vocals on this gospel tune are just outstanding... THANKS PAL
Live? I dint think that was performed live
@@ElvisistheMan_ Yup, someone played it on youtube last year. I believe it was a rare Vegas appearance.
@@ElvisistheMan_ unbelievable high note at the end…

Great review - and agree. 1974 June tour still strong on Trying to Get to you etc. but 1974 to 1977 only the rare moments - 1973 the peak.
Outstanding and informative as ALWAYS! I thought I knew a whole lot about ELVIS- but you teach me something every reaction you do. THANKS PAL! Hey, how did you become an ELVIS fan anyway? Sure glad ya did...
I’m glad you like my channel 👍🏻 I first remember hearing Elvis on the radio when I was 5 and was mesmerized by his voice. Then when I was 7, my dad had a VHS of “One Night With You” and I popped it in not knowing what I was doing and it was jaw dropping. I was hooked! Lol
@@ElvisistheMan_ Nice! Great job- thanks for sharing that.
Great clip

Great video as always. His voice on the March 74’ mid south concert album was as good as it gets in my opinion. I Especially like his old stuff, like My Baby Left Me and Lawdy, Miss Clawdy.
I love your bible videos very much..🙏🙏
I’m glad! I have to make a few more today.
there is video of this song in 1972 on youtube its brilliant
I saw your fitness page, I can tell your serious. Keep it going safely
Great information
This was the very night Elvis fired Tom Parker. Elvis attacked the hotel for firing an employee Elvis knew and liked. Tom Parker got angry and told Elvis off after the concert was over. Elvis replied by firing Parker. Parker came back to Elvis with a bill for several of million dollars, claiming that Elvis owed him. Things cooled down, and Elvis rehired Parker after a while, but it came close this evening.
Haha exactly what happened
@@ElvisistheMan_ Even though Elvis decided to keep Tom Parker, their relationship changed after this. They became more distanced, and Parker used to travel upfront of Elvis, When Elvis arrived in a city, Parker had already moved on to the next to prepare for next show.
@@ElvisistheMan_ Elvis was VERY FUNNY that night. He changed the words on many of the songs, and it was hilarious:) He even sang the words for "Bridge over troubled water" over the melody of "Suspicious minds. The funniest moments for me was the beginning of "Fever" where he sang about a DJ Fontana and Myrna Smith having "a very mad affair" When their husbond and wifes caught them, all you saw was teeth and hair. I also loved "Love me tender" where he changed the lyrics. You can tell that he was fed up with doing two shows at night for a full month in Vegas. That NEVER happened again after this engament. He would never do more than two weeks after this in Vegas. And he even stopped doing two shows each night. Some days he only did one show.
Very informative thank you 😊
Sweet Inspirations said Elvis’ voice was so powerful…that recordings don’t accurately portray it…you had to see him live. An interesting observation…haven’t heard that about any other singer/performer.
There is a video of elvis singing how great thou art coz ive watched them myself on youtube pal.
The name of your Channel say's it all! Yes! Elvisistheman! 👍🏽
That’s right! 💯
SUPER ELVIS , HalLeLu YAHshua MessiYah , YAH'meyn ++++++++++++++==
thats back stage before aloha
Of course we enjoyed are you crazy?!
С автоматическим переводом довольно трудно понять , что вы наговорили😊 но моё мнение такое - голос Элвиса полностью соответствовал состоянию его здоровья, и чем хуже Элвис себя чувствовал- тем слабее был его голос😢😢😢
His voice never peaked. I mean, 77 when he was straight and clean and had amazing power. Love it when he sang she thinks I still care. I do know what you mean about 1973 with his voice, but he was at his worst in 73 as a performer, in my opinion. For the most part, no strength in his voice and no energy. As a whole I mean
Worst in 73? You need to check out some audience footage! He was rockin! 74 started good but then ended BAD
@ElvisistheMan _ most of whst I've heard of him as far as concerts in 73 he was tired and burned out with little energy. I'd take 72 over 73 any day but that's me. His personal issues were shinning through
@@ElvisistheMan_ yeah 74 is underrated still not great as a whole but he had it still
I like what you do and in concert you can tell as an Elvis fan when is voice was not good but I will take is bad voice over anyone he was over worked and if he lived should’ve done a gospel tour would’ve been great
His voice was good that night! See if you can check out the whole concert on CZcams.
Yes Elvis sounded really good and his voice was strong in 73. But Elvis usually always sounded good 69-74, 75. I would say the 76-77 tours Elvis voice changed. He usually sounded tired and sometimes slurring the words. That said Elvis will always be the G.O.A.T. Thank you for uploading
I know a popular narrative is that Elvis was not good in 1976-77 but from late 1976 til the very end he had a lot of amazing shows and performances of songs, and his voice was so powerful and he sang operatic at times, with songs like Hurt, and how great thou art, rags to riches, you'll never walk alone, unchained melody in a way, that I think some of his greatest work gets overlooked, because of how he looked and because he slurred his words while talking at times I think.
@@dougdickason I didn’t mean Elvis wasn’t good during 76-77. You are correct that Elvis’ voice was powerful especially during his 77 tours.
@@jeffreyjohn1691 I should have clarified what I was getting at more. I hate that EPE Has basically treated Elvis like he died after the aloha concert and won't hardly acknowledge the 1977 Elvis tv special just before he died. As sad as it is, it's powerful, moving, and important in telling his story. The songs that meant something to him he knocked out of this world with his voice and that should be appreciated and not ignored. So, I was mainly referring to EPE and those that think Elvis was just slopping through the last few years.
Great video, as always, showcasing the majesty of Elvis's voice. But that thumbnail is a little weird!
❤️🎶
How he could go from dead serious to hilarious 🤣
I think Burning Love wasn't the style he was into at the time ...
No way, he was at his peak on '68 special. Omg! His voice was just getting more matured. And what is ftd,? Can you help me find out?
Follow that dream label. Good stuff!
Elvis version of How great thou art in 1977 was much stronger and better than this 1973 version. So I disagree that his voice was weaker from 1973 going forward.
I think Elvis' voice did fluctuate....I think 72 was better than 71 if u listen to MSG shows or On Tour....I think 73 had alot of great vocal shows...74 was up and down and the same as 75. I think the most of 76 was Elvis'weakest with exceptions like Birmingham in Dec and the New years Eve show.....and even tho the end was near 77 had some amazing and powerful performances.
I realize there is no answer to this question, but why do you think god never answered Elvis’s pleas for help? We have evidence he scribbled down his cry’s for god to assist him.
It could be that He did but Elvis didn’t make the right steps to cooperate
@@ElvisistheMan_
Is this the same logic you use when explaining the hundreds of children sexually abused In Baltimore’s Catholic archdiocese four year investigation? The children’s cries weren’t enough?
It’s really challenging to think god watches all of this take place in a church while striking Ananias and Sapphira dead after lying to the Holy Spirit about money(Acts chapter 5). The contradiction in behavior is very obvious.
In the last 5 or 6 years of his life he lost a lot of the rich tone in his voice. He seemed to make up for this by using vocal power, often dramatically belting out songs. I think he chose to perform songs live that had dramatic builds, such as You Gave Me a Mountain, American Trilogy, What Now My Love, Bridge Over Troubled Water, How Great Thou Art, and the list goes on and on. These songs start soft but build to a dramatic climax. They weren’t particularly difficult to sing but allowed Elvis to stretch for dramatic effect, a necessity because he performed so many shows. I also believe it’s partly why his repertoire stayed fairly consistent throughout the 70s.
Oh Elvis you were such a wonderful natural gifted God givin" wonder artist. WHY OH WHY DID YOU WASTE YOUR TIME WITH IMMATURE BIMBOS (including Priscilla child) instead of someone who could be a soulmate and partner to you! That would have changed your whole life!
Does anyone know why Elvia didn’t play vegas in 77?
His contracts explored. He probably would’ve never played there again. Probably….
@@ElvisistheMan_ wasn't the Hilton wanting Elvis to open for the 5000 seat Hilton Pavillion in late 1977 had he lived, but not sure if he would have wanted to or not.
I never thought about that before about why Elvis didn't play Vegas in 1977.
In this case it’s quite ironic that the period from 69-77 is labelled as Vegas Elvis by casual fans and critics yet he didn’t even work vegas in 77.
I am a died-in-the-wool Elvis fan, but I have to be brutally honest. This show is disappointing. He was nowhere near as good as he was in Aloha. He did not seem to have the lung power to sing the songs as well as he did then. The sharp perfection is also missing. I had heard that Elvis and the Colonel had a rather serious argument before the show, and this was what led to Elvis coming on stage riding piggy-back on Lamar.
You are the first person I have known to mention the 800 lb gorilla in the room. What happened to Elvis's voice between 1969 and 1971? As a teenager, the last album I had purchased before Aloha was the February 1970 On Stage record. A few months later I bought the Aloha album and was thunderstruck when Elvis opened with See See Rider. Comparatively, he was squeaking like a mouse.
I had to wonder, was he still capable of roaring like he did in the '68 tv special? Did he tone it down a bit because he had heard of the problems Tom Jones was having with his own voice? I read somewhere a long time ago that this was the reason, but who knows? Was he searching for a new style? I wonder if anyone can tell us.
Also, with his brutal seventies concert schedules, I doubt that he had anywhere near enough rehearsal time with his band in between shows after Aloha.
