In Judo, this technique is allowed and it's called Ashi-Ude-Garame. It's quite famous in Judo and Sambo because this submission is often used when someone is in turtle and in Judo/Sambo, turtle position comes often.
@carlos3salas Kimura is NOT a shoulder lock. Kimura IS a Judo technique known as ude-garami. It was applied by Masahiko Kimura in Helio Gracie to make him tap. The BJJ scene started calling it Kimura in his honor. NO JUDO TECHNIQUE IS allowed to attack the shoulder. When properly done it attacks the elbow, which is allowed per Judo rules. But it can easily be modified to attack the shoulder instead, as in this case.
totaly chill. I mean I know, and you know, but there alot of people who don't and would rather be insulting than admit they don't know. Kano was good friends with Geichin Funakoshi the founder of Shotokan Karate and they borrowed liberally from each other, so the upper levels of Karate are the basics of Judo and the upper levels of Judo (which would be the strikes inherited from Jujutsu) were patterned after Karate but so few know it so some think Judo had no strikes and they get defensive. Osu
just agree that the most important part of Judo is the Do, finding your way of doing it, most everyone thinks it's the moves that makes the style but I see wrestling and Judo both as ways of understanding yourself through grappling. I think Kano would have agreed :)
I entered the military in '89 Iraq was '91. Sumo is just called Sumo, "wrestling is added for people who don't know what it is. Actually Greco-Roman wrestling originated in ancient Greece and Rome hence the name Greco-Roman before there was a France. In modern times common usage applies wrestling to any form of grappling. In the past grappling was the generic word and wrestling was a specific style.
Which to me reflects the respect that you find in Japanese martial arts ( and culture for that matter) When I was in China they beleive everything is Chinese and everything comes from Shaolin. The round house kick as we know it today comes from Savate but my Nan Quan teacher is convinced "the ancesters developed it over time" when it's not found in any traditional sets of any system, only contemporary wushu sets which borrows from everywhere. It's nice that Kano gave credit where it's due. Osu!
@Joelcooltx A kimura is a shoulder lock. A kimura is done with your hands. This is a reverse omoplata. Google the move and click the first link, it'll give you a breakdown.
yeah exactly like judo, sambo, bjj and 'wrestling' in america. they are all wrestling, just different styles. If you incorporate all styles, you'd probably be king in every style
Hooking, at least how it was explained to me, just refers to the ability to lock in a legitimate breaking hold, like a heel hook, front chancery, or full nelson, and render the person helpless. essentially it would refer to any wrestler who can actually use it to fight rather than a carnival wrestler or in modern terms a pro wrestler. American Catch is appropriate, and while I can't claim lineage to Burns himself, I was told I am in his style, and I strive for respect for all arts. Be well also.
A omoplatta won't break your elbow because it's a shoulder lock but a Kimura will. watch the video again, I don't care what you call it but in BJJ, it's called a Kimura, albeit, this guy pulled it off with his right leg.
sometimes in this kind of attacks the bicept is locked and hurts a lot, there is a small chance it may get cut.Even thought it was obviusly a shoulder attack(reverse kimura or reverse omolata LIKE) they bicept may got caught during the move.
The guy in red dropped down, accepting a bottom position. Guy in blue locked on an omaplata shoulder lock (at least that's what we call it in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) and swept him until he got on top, probably causing ligament damage to his shoulder.
Yes Judo has taken Fireman's carry in to it's system. Judo has credit to Western Wrestling books by the Founder. Unlike some systems who claims they invented it.
damn dude. Im a BJJ practicioner and that was the sickest submission I have ever seen.
Trying to learn this now, I’m thinking of calling it a diving Omaplata, what would you call it?
Its funny how the guys holding his arm in pain and the ref still pulls it.....
WTF did i just saw? man, so beautifully done. Bravo.
3:01 ouch...pain ,more pain...! P.S. Beautiful sport or marzial art
In Judo, this technique is allowed and it's called Ashi-Ude-Garame. It's quite famous in Judo and Sambo because this submission is often used when someone is in turtle and in Judo/Sambo, turtle position comes often.
Thank you so much! I had no idea what this was or what even happened
Прекрасная техника, приятно посмотреть. Надеюсь спортсмен в красной самбовке не получил серьезной травмы.

Saul Kearns me..
I'm from Indonesia
I'm here because of Fedor honestly
i can't get over the fact of how awesome that finish was
Good god that was really nice submission, the set up was crazy sick!!!
I don't know about flying reverse omoplata, his opponent was on the ground in turtle before he rolled, but definitely a reverse omoplata. Smooth!
Увлекаюсь ММА уже 3 года.
Я ни разу такого не видел! Это нечто...
2:52 slow-mo replay of one of the best and most brutal submissions.
that is the rawest submission i have ever seen
FYI: Match is won in 1:50-2:00.
@banx757 reverse omoplata but this one you just keep rolling, the omoplata looks like a kimura in regular position as well so yea.

Это был не болевой,это был гром среди ясного неба)))😎💪🙏🥇🏆🏅😉😊
it is also used in the spetsnaz as an unarmed combat form
Wow.
😎
Bicep slicer, they exist in BJJ. We tend not to use them that much.
Of the 5 founders of Kajukenbo, 3 were Asian. 1 Filipino, 1 Korean and 1 Chinese.
wow the guy in blue proved he is a legend

What TheREalTJErnie says. Beautiful shoulder lock. Watch the slow mo right at the end, you'll see it.
That was a sick move.

@utubessqueez ur wrong a kimura is a shoulder lock because if preformed correctly ur shoulder gets hurt not ur arm.
@Joelcooltx
A kimura is a shoulder lock. A kimura is done with your hands. This is a reverse omoplata. Google the move and click the first link, it'll give you a breakdown.
@banpreso its not a straigth armbar,its a kimura using the legs/shoulder lock.
yeah exactly like judo, sambo, bjj and 'wrestling' in america. they are all wrestling, just different styles. If you incorporate all styles, you'd probably be king in every style
Samboplata aka rolling or reverse omoplata.
I dont think it was dislocated but damaged to some degree. Also, the bone might have been damaged as well.
there's a vid of nick diaz teaching this technique with caio terra if anyone was wondering
Классный прием!!!
This is not a bicep crush/slice, it's a rolling reverse shoulder lock using the legs aka omoplata in BJJ or aka Ashi-Ude-Garame in Judo.
awesome
красава, я в тя верил
This was not a bicep slicer, this was a shoulder lock via legs that also damaged the elbow joint.
Красава!!!
amazing technique
It is a rolling omoplata but he got him the the kimura (chicken wing) if you look closely at the end. That's when he taps.
I can't believe how smoking hot is Uali Kurzhev. From now on he will be the main character in my wet dreams...
Its a rolling hex cross but could possibly be a variation of the cobra clutch tech
He sliced the bicep with the meaty part of his thigh? Talented.
no, omoplata
I like the little smile at the coach.
I'd love to practice a tate shiho gatame with him, everytime.
That was a sick move 👏

Personally I'm a fan of jiu jitsu and sambo, although I've done judo for many years at the beginning.. .
BR :)
@pcjudosambo Orginal Judo before the politics got involved had most submissions from jujutsu including wrist locks, leg lock etc.
красавчик!
что тут одни амерекисо пишут. где наши??Самбо рулит!!!красиво сделал
очень хорошый бой и прием : )
I watched it again, I changed my mind to a reversed omo plata.
The guy in red dropped down, accepting a bottom position. Guy in blue locked on an omaplata shoulder lock (at least that's what we call it in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) and swept him until he got on top, probably causing ligament damage to his shoulder.
they're pretty fast and agile
ya maybe but we always make everything better
I wonder how he broke his arm with what looked like a rolling oma plata ?
You can doubt all you want. Say what you want. This is in fact a shoulder lock.
Wow, inverted omoplata. Sick!!!!
Antonio Banderas really needs to work on his technique.
Y olé
Nice.Fair play.
hey we have this thing in america its called wrestling looks similar?
That is a bad ass submission
Hayo penasaran sama olah raga sambo karena asian games ya! 😂
@banpreso Actually if you look closer its more like a kimura using figure 4 legs from a kinda reverse omoplata position. This shit is sick.
kurzhev more videos? plis
it's called a 'reverse omoplata' in bjj. It's really popular in Judo too, not sure of the Japanese name though :)
Match begins at 1:00
WHAAAA! incredible
Mark Huizinga does this technique however he uses it as a turnover into the hold down.
beautiful omoplata!!!! or should i say legoplata???
In BJJ it's called a revese omoplata.
Is he dislocate the opponents shoulder? By the way awesome sport.
Agree man 100%. I feel really bad that i can't type anything good in response. :(
What kind of ref tries to pick the guy up by his injured limb?
Doubt it there some say it was a reverse omoplata, I say it was a bicep slicer (which it was)
Kamura with legs. Watch the last 10 seconds
Yes Judo has taken Fireman's carry in to it's system. Judo has credit to Western Wrestling books by the Founder. Unlike some systems who claims they invented it.
Uali Kuerzhev is the best
Tate and Bud would have just stood up, no crying.
That was "NICE!"
prikrasna
muy bueno el vídeo SOS de argentina
SOLID
Holy shit that was flawless.
It's a shoulder lock people. It ain't no freaking bicep slice.
Interesting sport
2:23 the referee thought he won
lol this is alot like judo if you haven't noticed. check out the attempted hip throw and sumi goshi(spelling)
So how do I get this channel on my cable line up?
четко!
My arm hurt watching that.
Yes it is! Not to be rude or anything. I'm glad that you didn't come at me with a douche bag attitude. :)
Osu!
Watch igor kurnnoy rolling shoulder lock
It's a freaking bicep slice.
