i have a total of 95 books that i own. if i finish, “harry potter and the deathly hallows” i will have read 40 books this year. that’s the most i’ve ever read. but because book #5 (order of the phoenix) was so long (870 pages), i’ve kinda hit a reading slump. i’ll be happy to finish the series and save the rest of my physical books for next year. i’m on a book buying ban unless someone gifts me books for christmas. i want to finish what i own and only keep books that i see myself re-reading in the future.
For what it's worth, the videos that are the most fun for me are when people are enjoying themselves, no matter what they're reading. So I'm very supportive of not worrying about TBRs and just doing whatever you want! As for me, I'm just hoping to finish some series by the end of the year. I own so many sequels to books I liked that I haven't read yet.

This is so crazy because earlier today I saw another end of year book tag and I literally went to your specific channel bc I wanted to see if you had posted one bc I wanted to see your goals and answers omg what a coincidence
My plan for next year is to do a hard book buying ban (except for BOTM because I can’t help myself and I really like it) but other than that, I want to not buy as many and just read the ones that I own. I also have the same goal as you which is not to focus on a TBR as much and just mood read what I want.
Really love those 2024 reading goals! The pipe dream of reading all the books I own is so real buy why does it feel so unattainable even when you only have a few books on the physical TBR lol
I really want to finish the Ember in the Ashes Quartet before the end of the year. Next year, I want to set a page count goal which I haven't done before. I have a good amount of chunky books on my shelf so I think that would be cool to track.

I am planning on two different alphabet reading challenges for next year. One will be that the title of the book starts with the given letter. The other will be the authors first or last name.
The books I would like to finish by the end of the year are Keeper of the Lost Cities, The Rise of Kyoshi, Clockwork Princess, Throne of Glass, and The Final Empire. Plans for next year is finishing ACOTAR series and figuring out my 24 books to read in 2024 and figuring out when to read what books.

My only goal is to read series! I've been reading mostly standalones these past few years, or series that can be treated as such, but I want to immerse myself in some of those epic sff series (like the Witcher, or the Gideon the Ninth series) as I used to love doing so when I was younger! I also want to continue series I started but forgot to continue.
I put way too much pressure on myself to read these past few years all while being a full time PhD student. Spent the past few months reading for my comprehensive exams that require us reading 150 books. Since that’s such a strict goal I’m trying to be quite chill with what I read for fun going into the end of this year and into 2024! Hoping to read a few Christmas romances! And eventually get back into fantasy, I really want to read the sequel to The Final Strife.
I ordered The Book Club Hotel to hopefully read in December and I'm currently reading The Invisible Life of Addie LeRue (yes I know I'm very behind lol I am also a mood reader). I also really want to read either Assassin's Blade or Sword Catcher before 2024 but that's if time allows me. Excited to see the books you decide on reading to close out this year!
I'm looking forward to the Finlay Donovan book! I've really enjoyed that series a lot. Also, Destroy the Day, the 3rd book in the trilogy by Brigid Kemmerer. Also the amount of books I've started and stopped... I cannot. I think 2024 will be me getting my TBR down significantly because it's starting to overwhelm me lol.
