    This is a great company and great watch. I’ve owned the 1Z since it hit the US. The only concern I offer is that older eyes may have difficulty reading the time...

    Great review Teddy! The Metris is my personal favorite amongst the MeisterSinger novelties. Simple, sportive, stylish and still elegant for every occasion.

    Just found your review channel by accident. Although I live in the UK, it's interesting to see what goes in the US!

    Awesome review Teddy! Really liking this design. Later next year for graduation, I will be buying my next watch. I am thinking about a Nomos Tangente 35. Which one would you pick between the Tangente and this Metris?

    Hello Teddy,
    I just discovered your video. well done! I also discovered the Métris which I found very beautiful. Since there is no retailer nearby, based on your experience, is this model compatible with a wrist of 15cm in circumference with the watch securely attached ? Thanks for your feedback. Best regards

    This is a spectacular German every day sport watch.
    I am now completely torn between this and the Rado 1957 Golden Horse. Two entirely unique and entirely different watches.
    There is nothing left for me to do now but book that consult with Teddy's experts.

    As always a comprehensive review, thanks! 2 years on, how do you feel about the Metris? Do you still enjoy it or did it have a novelty element? I was also wondering what you think of the black dial/red hand version?

    Teddy, do you offer a beads of rice bracelet on your website? Or know of a place that offers a decent one? I like the look of the bracelet and am thinking of picking up the Orient you did recently. Just would love the beads of rice style bracelet.

    Hey Teddy, went to your site to check out the metris and can‘t find any Meistersinger watches. Are you no longer selling them?

    As I get deeper into wristwatches, it becomes harder and harder to justify that kind of money for a 2824-2. My incoming Aevig Corvid has that same movement, and even new it's less than $600...and while I'm sure the MeisterSinger rep would point out details that justify a higher price, it's becoming truly hard to stomach luxury watches charging premium prices for movements and designs we can get for a much better price...

      I am not familiar with that brand but upon a quick search, it looks like they use STP calibers which is an ETA clone and can typically be had for cheaper. I will say a few things, first, I have only gained more respect for ETA movements as time has gone on. The movements are tested by being in the market in millions of watches, have been around for years, are easy to regulate, parts will be easy to source down the road, and the service cost is much lower than in-house. My Tudor submariner comes with an ETA movement and I am very pleased with this. I got a full service of the watch that equaled a small percentage of the watch. Also, I will add that not every ETA is the same. MeisterSinger certainly regulates these given my tests so this is not just a boxed up ETA and for under $2,000, you will struggle to find any swiss made in-house caliber. When it comes to Japan, well that is a different story haha. Thanks for watching.

      @@TeddyBaldassarreReviews Glad I introduced you to a new microbrand. You're completely right that it's an ETA clone, but you might be surprised at both the regulation and the quality.

      I also wonder about the price for such a simple design. I don't get it, even if the one hand design is interesting (if not for me).

    • @manuel_winde
      @manuel_winde Před 2 lety

      A watch is more than the movement, there are IWC and Breitling watches costing much more with eta movements.
      But at some point, for a simple every day watch. Why would you want to reinvent the wheel? This movement is tried, trusted and tested, it’s cheap and easy to service and it’s reliable and used by hundreds of brands for a reason.

    • @nukadog1969
      @nukadog1969 Před 2 lety

      @@manuel_winde While your point is well-taken, it avoids the uncomfortable reality that while a watch is not completely its movement, it is also true that if the fit and finish don't compensate for the more economical movement, then it's wasteful to purchase.
      Similarly, I refuse to pay similar prices for quartz and automatics. No matter what quartz movement you have in there, it is, at most, $7 cost...which means I should get a discount on the rest, all things being equal.
      But it doesn't work that way, does it? And by your measure, my ST-111 watches are just as good since they're clones of the 2824, right?

    never show the watch plane front like to have an idea how to read the time

  • @watchesandcaps2566
    @watchesandcaps2566 Před 4 lety +2

    Sorry, but that's an insane price for a simple 2824 being inside of it. Where do they come up with $1800? I have 2824s inside atleast 8 of my watches and none of them were more than maybe 6 or $700.

    • @micheltran7115
      @micheltran7115 Před 3 lety +1

      I just bought this watch and the fit and finish is really good. I love the polished and brushed areas. Nice play and contrast. I feels as much quality as my Omega PO.

    • @manuel_winde
      @manuel_winde Před 2 lety +2

      You could also buy an IWC, Breitling, Tudor or Tag with the same movement for twice the price or more (a watch is more than the movement)

    I think I would go for the black 69,- euro Prisma einzeiger with quartz movement. Why bother a 28.800 bph movement if you cannot see the nice seconds sweep??
    These meistersinger watches have a simplified 2836-2 movement you find in the Tissot visodate auto (575,- euro's)
    Smart marketing people at Meistersinger. Telling the world seconds are nonsense..... they have not been on a Japanese train I think? Never boield an egg using their watch? Never baked something in the oven using their watch? Never stood near a race track checking the time? Never checked the distance of lighting?
    Not buying it....sorry I would go for the Junghans in this case. It also keeps its value better.
