नरसी मेहता: श्री कृष्ण के परम भक्त और कवि
नरसी मेहता, गुजरात साहित्य के आदि कवि और भगवान श्री कृष्ण के परम भक्त थे। उनका जन्म 1414 ई. में जूनागढ़, गुजरात में हुआ। बचपन में माता-पिता को खोने के बाद, उन्होंने अपनी दादी के संरक्षण में जीवन बिताया। आठ साल की उम्र तक नहीं बोलने वाले नरसी ने संत के द्वारा श्री कृष्ण का मंत्र सुनते ही बोलना शुरू किया और कृष्ण भक्ति में समर्पित हो गए।
अपने भाभी के तानों से प्रेरित होकर नरसी जंगल में भगवान शिव की तपस्या करने चले गए। उनकी कठोर तपस्या से प्रसन्न होकर, भगवान शिव ने उन्हें श्री कृष्ण की रासलीला के दर्शन कराए। नरसी ने अपनी भक्ति से समाज को प्रेरित किया, जातिवाद और छुआछूत के खिलाफ अपनी आवाज उठाई, और हरिजनों के साथ मिलकर भजन-कीर्तन किया।
नरसी मेहता की जीवन यात्रा में कई चमत्कारी घटनाएं हुईं, जैसे भगवान श्री कृष्ण का उनके पिता के श्राद्ध में शामिल होना और द्वारका जाने वाले भक्तों की हुंडी का भुगतान करना। उनकी पुत्री सुलोचना की शादी में, भगवान कृष्ण ने अद्भुत मायरा भरकर नरसी मेहता की लाज रखी। नरसी मेहता का जीवन भक्ति, त्याग और ईश्वर के प्रति अटूट विश्वास का उदाहरण है।
