Got to pay you huge compliments and respect fella for what you do. I have done a clutch change on an old mk2 Granada back in the day while at work & on my back and never again I can tell you - but compared to today's cars you would have had it done in an hour the way you operate - no fancy electronics / plugs or sensors back then, just the bell housing clutch and cable and drive shaft to the rear. Very efficient hats off to you! Did my TwinAir 500 yesterday under similar conditions on the street (took me 2x2 afternoons). A few things I learned the hard way: #1: The top bolt or the starter motor is a pain refitting, but you can just about reach it from the top reaching trough the engine bay treading the first part by hand once you got the bottom two loosely tightened. #2 Pull back the other driveshaft (engine side) as well either by disconnecting the steeringrod and bolts to the springleg or the method shown here. I destroyed one friction plate because I could not get the gearbox on strait. So took me 2 additional afternoons (only noticed the broken plate when I had put the car back together again) #3 Double check both drive shafts are all the way in before refilling the transmission fluid (it makes a mess). Things not shown here for the 500 but might be good to know if one also makes the mistake of not hiring a pro: #1 Drain the transmission fluid before removing driveshafts. #2 The refilling plug requires a uncommon H12 hex. #3 The drain and refilling plug both like ask for Teflon/gas tape. #4 Replace the fork also it is worth it. Break the plastic sleeves (in order to extract it (once you removed the arm). You can jam top one down with an extended socket when you pry away its edge #5 Consider a dual mass (valeo) flywheel for this engine it greatly improves drivability and lifespan (says my one day experience driving with my one) Things I learned from this video and wished I knew : #1 No need to remove the entire bumper. #2 No need to entirely remove/disconnect the starter motor. #3 Invest in some rubbermats #4 There are other crazies laying in the rain changing a gearbox also and some legends do it on a daily basis!
@@bobgorman9481 Yeah I understand and that isn’t the case for most other engines, but a two cylinder 899cc is an other beast entirely. Due to a narrow powerstroke compared to the entire rotation of the flywheel there is much vibration and jerkiness besides being hard on the components and clutch one often compensates with more clutch slip adding to the thing eating through clutchplates. But it is my one day expience however the flywheel manufacturer claims to provide a 1million km warranty. I’ll keep the receipt.

That is the first time I ever saw u change a rear main seal. Also did the Pugeout get a junk yard trans?? It’s been a while since I watched. Don’t get mad at me😢😢 In the old days, it was strictly clutches. Did I miss something? Thank u for your hard work!!
This is very impressive! I am changing the clutch in my E46 right now on jackstands and this is not an easy task. How Do You deal with broken transmission bolts? I broke mine, a steel bolt in the aluminum M54 engine. I am not able to remove it...

Ive a 2013 vw passat 2.0l TDI Bluemotion and when i press the clutch pedal in slightly i hear a rumble noise .. the clutch isnt slipping yet but is this the clutch release bearing ? I have a nationwide account. So there’s always a shop within 30 mins drive wherever I am. I usually go straight into warehouse and grab one and back on the scene. There’s always a way to getting the job done by the grace God and man 🍻🍻😎
