- Hi Everyone! On today’s episode of Catching Up, I’m joined by May who just got back from a week-long vacation in Maine! We are also so excited to be just 1 month out from Stationery Fest!! How crazy is that!? I hope you are all getting very excited as well :) This week, we have just a few new items, including Uni’s new Lite Touch Jetstream Ballpoint pens. Special shoutout to Emily who visited us from California with a very thoughtful letter for Team Yoseka! For my fabric covers I spray them with waterproofing spray when I first get them, and they look like new. But for the older ones - I would try a magic eraser.
What brand do you use for waterproofing?
@@905rosey I use shoe water proofer. Bought it from amazon and it has been working great. This one is sofsole brand, learned to leave the lid off the can after using. It has protected my fabric hobonichi covers and they still look like new.

The official Hobonichi pen is a Jetstream 3-colour multipen - I was just holding one of mine when you said, "Do you own any Jetstream pens?" so I joyfully waggled it at the screen. ;)
I don't have any of Hobonichi fabric covers, but I do have a drawer pouch Áne (the My Manga and I design, which is beige and really shows it when it's been handled a lot). I usually use a mild dishwashing detergent and lukewarm water and a soft washcloth or toothbrush to clean it, which works really well - but I have talked to people who actually put theirs in the washing machine (in a bag, like for stockings and delicates) on cold - and it worked! (I'm stilll too scared to try this, but they do give me hope.)
We have puffins here in Oregon on the coast and they are bigger than you described but we love them!
I have had and have Jetstreams RT for a long time I have some in the desk drawers and the receipt said 2017 and they still write. I suppose the ink never dries out. They are smooth writers and the ink is fraud prevention, sometimes when I write a check I always use those pens.

I’ve treated the arts & science leather covers for Hobonichi with leather conditioner. One idea (I haven’t tried on hobonichis) is using puracy stain remover spray with a fabric brush for fabric covers or the bookmarks?
Will store hours be impacted before/during/after Stationery Fest? (All this Maine talk makes me want to plan a trip too! 😂)
