  • It’s a really good idea to break in new motorcycle boots as much as possible before riding, so as to minimize difficulties with shifting and braking.

    Better yet, mow the yard, do your garage work, yard work or farm work. You have to break in the sole of the boot to feel your brake lever and overall feel of the bike. So instead of wearing your shoes or normal boots around the house, wear your riding boots. At first the family will laugh but when you hit the track or trail, you will be loving your new boots!

    SpongeBob’s squeaky boots lol
    Yesterday I picked up a pair of tech 7s. So far out of the box they are pretty comfy to wear and walk around the house with. Been doing a few stretches here and there in them, def does help tho. I’m a bit scared, it’s been about 10+ years since I last raced/rode moto. Gunna be even weirder since I haven’t worn a pair of thick bulky moto boots since.

      Started riding for the first time in 5+ years and it’s scary but man I forgot how fun it was

    Good to know. I just bought new racing style boots today. Braking and downshifts are not so bad, but upshifts are so hard. Ankle articulation is so limited. Hopefully it won't take too long to break them in.

    I have the same boots. I find it very hard to shift and brake. I will give this a try. Thanks

      I posted this video after almost killing myself with mis-shifts and missed brake taps in the air. It reminded me that this is a common problem. Hopefully you got yours nice and broken in now!

      @@friendlywolfracing Same here, a can am crashed into me and i could have slowed down alot more faster if my boots wouldn’t have been so stiff. I could get used to them and i ended up missing the brake and crashed into him.

    Do they get soft enough for some walking?

    • @friendlywolfracing
      @friendlywolfracing  Před rokem +2

      Yes, they end up flexible enough to walk in. When my daughter rides on the kids track between my motos I keep these on and walk around.
