@@Football_Villain the song says “Shot up Darnell with a long ass gun and then tossed it into the aquarium” when he’s asked to identify the object he admits that it is a gun, of the long ass variety (meaning very long) and that there is some seaweed in there (probably from the aquarium)
I still use the term "long-ass variety" because of this sketch.
If he strokes his chin when he lies, but says he was at red lobster, he wasn't stroking his chin then...
He could have gone to red lobster before or after the crime was commited on the same day. That way even if he didn't eat there he was technically not lying.

As an avid rap listener and aspiring artist myself, Gunrack appears to be a Californian rapper who seems to be an avid fan of 80s West Coast rap due his style of simplistic beats, his delivery and rhyme schemes and especially his fashion which is very reminiscent of the attire of NWA.
Now him being from California is important because recently the governor has passed a law that makes it so that music lyrics, especially rap lyrics, cannot be used as evidence in criminal court.

That’s also not entirely true. It prevents submitting lyrics as evidence to a crime without judicial review occurring prior.

If the cops had literally no evidence other than that line, and he denied it after, I doubt it. But with some other evidence I think it’d probably be admissible and be part of a slate of evidence.

You missed pointing out that when the artist says "this is my confession, admissible in court", it doesn't actually affect its admissibility in court. That's something a lot of people seem to miss. Also, just because someone confessed, it doesn't mean they did it. Like in the video, two people confessed to killing Darnell Simmons. It could have been both of them, one of them, or neither.

I’ve always found it interesting as well that just because he’s allergic to shellfish, if he is. Doesn’t mean by any means that he couldn’t eat at red lobster, there are plenty of non seafood items there. At the very least you could get pasta w no shellfish… if he was actually there or not is a completely different story
He doesn't even need to eat at the Red Lobster, really. He could just be there for his cousin for the birthday party. Also, he strokes his chin when he says he hasn't killed anybody. Having played mystery games I'm always careful with words, because this also doesn't mean he killed Darnell. Could've just killed another person like a rival rapper.

Wouldnt this be like using a killers journal, like would there be a difference in description of murder if its poetic, would there be a differnce if its public like a rap song or private like a journal(it poetic style)
I think a big difference is a journal is autobiographical and not artistic. A published song is intended to be shared as art, and therefore artistic license becomes a factor as well as a rapper's lyrics could be a persona, or biographical.

One point is Gunrack should patently not have identified the weapon as 'a gun... of the long-ass variety'. Absent that identification, a defence attorney could presumably ask the officer who found the weapon 'Was the weapon you discovered near the scene a long gun - that is, a rifle? Does it use 9mm ammunition? No? So the weapon found near the scene does not match in any way the weapon used by the protagonist in the song?'

Revolvers can hold different numbers of shots than 6.
5 shot cylinders are actually quite common.
For a smaller than magnum caliber, like 9mm, greater than 6 shot cylinders are likely.

New Law - as of September 30 2022 in California, this absolutely cannot be used as evidence in court without judicial review.

Like, any lawyer would tell their defendant “Dude just show you AREN’T allergic” if they weren’t, but wouldn’t it be a HIPPA violation to try and demand evidence of an allergy?
They don't have to demand records. They can order a simple allergy test to be done by a doctor working with the police department. Basically they scratch your skin, usually on your back, then put small amounts of various allergens on each scratch and look for a reaction.

6:44 Objection! The suspect has made two separate statements about the weapon used in the crime, but those statements do not necessarily contradict one another. It’s conceivable that the suspect shot Darnell Simmons nine times with a 9mm firearm, and then proceeded to shoot him at least one more time with a gun of the long-ass variety. This entire murder has a hint of ritualism about it - this could simply be part of the killer’s MO.

You do work in Michigan? Need a good lawyer to get me out of a bind. Got a warrant for refused to do finger prints. But the kicker is they arrested me booked me and never took my prints. Sent me a letter that said the 12th. Thought it was a court date. Then on the 11th, At night time I read it to see the time I have to be there. That's when I see it says, I have to get my finger prints done before the 12th. So obvusly I had a warrant the next day. On the 12th. And now I'm confused as to why I'm being published for them not doing there job. I had never been to jail before so maybe they assumed I had been and was on file idk. But I do know my life is off track cause THEY did not do THEIR job. Help meee!

@@dangersnail5839 well .357, .38, and 9mm all have nearly identical diameters so you could technically shoot a 9mm from a 357 mag cylinder. Only issue is that 9mm isn't rimmed like .38/.357. The cylinder would have to be cut for moon clips to hold them. It would still be way to big but could be done.
