Red Rush was the key to everyone surviving. He would of moved everyone away from killing blows and let them grind Omni man down until he passes out from the abuse.
@@mysteryjunkie9808 Maybe shove explosives on his fave or something like that. A stun mechanism maybe. Omni man heard his cap.flapping and got to him before he could do anything though
I think it’s worth mentioning they did a ton more of damage to him, considering a satellite beam worth billions gave him a nose bleed. Sadly enough even if they did best him and somehow found a way to kill him with viltrumite body cells their home planet would have just sent another maybe even multiple to finish the job. Probably the dumbest part of this fight was dark wing, the fuck did he think that drop kick was gonna do lmfao
One thing that should also be noted: In the TV-show it is very clear that the Guardians would be a serious obstacle to a Viltrumite invasion, because Omni-Man is *not* an average Viltrumite, but part of their warrior elite. Based on their second fight, the Immortal would definitely be able to beat an average Viltrumite in single combat and I think there is an argument for War Woman and Red Rush as well, since both were strong and fast enough to injure Omni-Man.
I mean the average viltrumite is still really strong. Also I don’t think The Immortal could win even against a regular viltrumite. Viltrumite cells are shown to be incredibly durable, meanwhile The Immortal is still technically human, which means he is not nearly as durable as an average viltrumite.
@@certified_freak I think basically the argument is if he could put up with Omni man even for a fraction of time he could basically kill an average viltrumite which makes sense
@@certified_freak You aren't wrong, but there's a reason Nolan wanted Immortal gone immediately, he tried his hardest to get a sneak attack in first and with how Nolan collapses to his knees AFTER everyones dead and nobody can see him (i still dont get how some people think he faked being hurt) and taking decent damage in the second fight, The guardians could definitely take a viltrumite or 2, definitely not 2 of the elites though.
Something not mentioned in Omni Man vs Green Ghost is that she's the newest member of the Guardians with less than a few months of experience. Couple this with their anxiety and you have a hero that freezes up in the middle of battle like Invincible's first romp with the Flaxans.
Yeah, it seemed like Green Ghost was shellshocked from seeing teammates die so suddenly. If she participated and Darkwing didn't commit suicide, the fight would have been very different.
It was very close, if Red Rush lived to save Aquarius, and to join in on beating the fuck out of Omni-man when he was restrained by Martian Man, if Martian Man put his core between Omni-mans shoulders, if Darkwing did a single useful thing in that whole fight, if Green Ghost phased WW's mace into Omni-mans skull, if Aquarius could pull the water out of Omni-man brain. If anything went slightly better for the Guardians then Omni-man would at the very least die with them
I have no idea what Darkwing was planning to do there lmao. He sees a being that he knows has god-like abilities and apparently his plan is to jump on him
@@MG_Spy And leave his friends to die? Dark Wing is not the type. Besides, Omni Man is fast as hell, he would never allow any of them to leave the cave. Dark Wing had 0 chance of survival, so he likely suicided in an effort to distract Omni Man long enough for the others to attack.

Eh, looked like they were set on fighting and killing him as soon as Red Rush got his head popped. It was more the fact that he caught them unprepared, and the fact that he was likely studying their powers and weaknesses in his head during the duration of his association with them.
Nah that ain’t it as they live in a world where superpowers are very prevalent they thought he was being mind controlled, it’s not that they didn’t want to fight him like as you saw they were trying pretty hard to knock him out and even try killing him when red rush got his head popped. The thing was that he knows their weaknesses and knows how they fight. if anything the fight would have been more one sided if he was more strategic (like the comics)
Not really. Omni Man was likely holding back to play the victim card. In the comics he slaughtered them instantly without them standing the slightest of chances. If he saw they were standing a chance, he would just stop holding back and kill them all

one BIG thing I noticed, is that The Immortal is missing for a lot of the fight. After Red Rush is killed, I'd expect Immortal to be attacking any time War Woman is, but he's just absent. Her mace appears to be the most effective attack against him by far, so if they could've knocked him back and forth between them a little bit more, that would be that.
I think, guardians could have totally defeated omni man (maybe with Cecil’s help), if they were prepared and knew about his real intentions. It’s the entire reason why omni man didn’t just kill them 20 years ago as soon as he arrived to earth. He knew he would be taking too much risk by facing them directly (or he didn’t even know how much exactly risk he would be taking), so he gained their trust first and studied them, and then 20 years later when he realised it’s time and took them by surprise

Comics spoilers: In a one off story arc where Mark gets sent to the past, and warns the Guardians, they are able to knock Omni man out and restrain him, so that Cecil can lock him up.
They would still have Mark on their sides, and the Guardians, and could prepare for an invasion of Viltrumites (recruiting more people)... although according to Nolan of the future at begining they would only send 3 or 4.

Red rush made Omni man cough up some blood, bruised his chest, probably broke some ribs. He also saved three of the gaurdians. Immortal, Aquarius, War woman. It is also worth noting maybe Martian man, could have been a little fatigued before the fight, because he was hitting up a new PR before the fight.
Unfortunately he had the worst death of all, his world passes by hours, so when Omni man was crushing his skull, it was hours of pain and agony for him.

When the whole idea that Nolan can just kill them all effortlessly pretty much contradicts that alleged fact. So War Woman being able to do some serious damage to Nolan isn't just for shockvalue, it's also to show how dangerous the Guardians of the Globe can be.
@@garryjohnson9328 But this logic involves ignoring the stuff we actually see on screen. There might not be any mention that the mace is magical, but we get to see in action that it is durable enough for WW to bash someone as tanky as Omniman repeatedly without getting as much as a dent. This would imply that the material that the mace is made of is super durable, and the fact that WW can hit Nolan hard enough to not just bruise but also give him concussions, implies that WW is strong enough to be a threat. Also, although Viltrumites are indeed high tier in the universe, they are not entirely invincible. Their whole strategy of infiltrating foreign planets to weaken their defenses to prepare for bigger invasion forces, kinda highlights that.
Red rush could have carried Green ghost on his back, running around letting her phase war woman and immortal and the others to safety to dodge omniman's attacks
@Keith Random Studio! what about immortal + green ghost green ghost phases immortal so that omni man cant attack him, they get to omni man and then immortal puts his hand through omni man's brain or heart, and green ghost unphases immortal. boom, immortal's hand is gone, but omni man is seriously injured or possibly dead, but immortal grows his hand back
If he started to punch his face instead of his chest, chances are Omni-man coul've loosen the grip a little. I'm not saying Omni-man couldn't tank those punches, but getting punched repeatedly at supersonic speeds in the face, for someone like him, would've been an extreme nuisance. And even if Red Rush ended up dying anyway, I imagine omniman more fucked up and easier to take on. His sight would probably off; his nose, definitely broken, which could case breathing difficulties, and probably a good ol' concusion. Now that's better for the remaining guardians than a few broken ribs.
Given how things go in the comics later on, it IS possible they could have won with enough preparation. The surprise element of his assault as well as the sheer shock of the betrayal as well as his brutality really gave him the edge here.
Don't worry, Green Ghost will return as Dead Woman just like Dead Man in DC Universe. All we need is a ghost to possess a Viltrumite even Superman was controlled by Dead Man... *Ghostfreak can too.*
Some things I think should be noted: 1, before red rush dies, it isnt framed as a kill omniman situation, but a *subdue* at most situation. 2, They more than likely are shocked and tired, Martian Man stretching himself to his personal limit, Green Ghost in the middle of something. Plus the shock of watching your friends being brutally murdered by another friend hurts. 3, They are still confused seeing omniman, a friend, doing this. Until they realize its them or omniman, they dont decide to go for the kill. Even the last thing anyone says in the scene is, "Why?" They are confused and until the very end, not trying to kill him.
Yep. All the characters resemble the powers of the DC characters with only difference Superman being way stronger than Immortal. Given that, Superman could defeat Omni-Mam!
If they had been more prepared; Aquarus, Green Ghost, and Martian Man should resorted to more savage biological attacks. Aquarus should have attempted to remove Omni man's fluids to weaken him while he's being physically attacked. Green Ghost should have attempted to phase through Nolan and disrupt his brain or heart. Martian Man should have attempted to enter Omni Man through his nose or ear canal and attack his brain and/or respiratory organs. Anyways, great video! I enjoyed your assessment. 😊
Aquaris I don't think can control another persons fluids he can only produce water from his body. Green ghost could've easily killed Omni man as you said phase through him. Martian man puts himself in extreme danger wrapping around Omni man like that. If you re-watch the fight scene Omni man tried multiple times to grab his weak spot meaning he already knew how to kill him.
@@controlman7490 the only real exploit he didn't do was to graverob the immortal and to hide his body parts in different parts of the world, although he maybe didn't know he'd come back
The reason they lost was lack of strategy, lack of preparation. They literally could have won but they did not have contingency plans, like Batman. They should've known that a being as powerful as omniman could one day be a threat, but they didn't
No one was even wondering why he didn't want to join the guardians and no one even made a background check about who he is and where he came from and that's why they got killed by a wolf in sheep's clothing.
I think the fact that one of their "friends" turned on them was a big shock, and probably caught them off guard. Along with the trauma of the death of their other friends
Red rush actually saved three of the guardians. When War woman is fighting Omni-man Red rush quickly deflects one of Omni mans punches so that War woman doesn’t get hit.
Let's remember that Omniman can destroy heads in an instant, Red Rush did as much damage as he did in less than a second. He could also deflect Omniman's punches. Playing defensive until the right moment would have allowed Red Rush to knock out Omniman, with a lot of broken bones, but alive.
I think Red Rush's sole focus should've actually been damage control. He broke his arms punching Omniman, but could move Guardians out of harm's way all day. He is faster and has more advanced perception than Omniman, but not nearly as durable or strong, so *any* strike at Omniman directly is way too risky.
@@bearistotle2820 Nah. I think Omniman was crushing his skull so hard and by the time he started to punch with his wrists, his brain wasn't even responding right
Yeah, he should of been defensive, but I think it just didn't cross his mind that Omni Man would be able to catch him. I mean he indeed was faster than Omni Man. Much faster, as it seemed, and he knew that. He knew that he was faster, and perhaps got a bit too cocky.

It's very well possible that the guardians can subdue Omniman, possibly without Mark's help, but they definitely lacked coordination. Martian Man was the most critical member in the attack alongside Aquarus, because they were capable of suppressing him for a good length of time. Martian Man could've tried to put his heart somewhere out of reach of Omniman, meaning the only way he could break out would be to brute force it like last time. Should Omniman break free, Aquarus just needs to hit him with the water jet until he can be bound up again. War Women was probably the heaviest hitter because of her weapon, but she completely abandoned it in the fight. If she managed to keep using it while Omniman was tied up, she could beat him to a pulp. Green Ghost could've shoved him partway through the floor to help immobilize him further. The Immortal could've helped with the pummeling or assist in suppressing him with his super strength. Red Rush can help to move allies out of the way of danger, same with Green Ghost. Darkwing is almost useless here except for some gadgets to stun, plus whatever utilities that might help tie him down. Spoilers ahead. I never read the comics, but from what I understand, there was some kind of "reset" where Mark got thrown back into the past and had his age reversed accordingly, but maintained his memories. He immediately confronted his father and ousted him as a conqueror, causing him to attack. Mark lured him to the Guardians base and together with the rest of the team, took him down.
If Green Ghost would have decided to just phase his spine, bones like his legs and/or arms, or even his organs out of his body, the fight would have been over.

Honestly, Red Rush should've been virtually undefeatable - they explicitly take the time to say he perceives time at a slower rate than the rest of us, which means he should have had all the time in the world (from his perspective) to see Omni-man raise his hand to catch his punch. I sincerely think it's just an oversight; a lot of authors severely underestimate speedsters in fights
He was already committed to the punch, how was he supposed to eliminate all the momentum he had already built up? If anything, seeing omni-man move his hand to catch him just informed him how fucked he was.
@@Aburaishi Yeah I feel you. I'm still convinced he couldn't have done that, but with nothing but a single fight to showcase the guardians' abilities we can't ever be sure about the extent of their abilities, so it could go both ways really.
I like the show fight much better than the comic version. He kills the whole team in less than 2 pages in the comic and you almost wonder why he bothered if they were such a breeze to kill. In the show, we see the guardians as a serious threat to omni-man and once we knows he wants to conquer Earth, it makes much more since why he needed them eliminated
Spoiler for later chapters of the comic so don't read any further if you don't want to be spoiled: In a spin off of sorts, the guardians do beat omniman. And without losing a single member. But this time they were prepared. So it's only because Nolan attacked while they were unprepared that they were beaten so easily.
Ya, Spoilers but in another Timeline the Guardians DO beat him when Mark warns them that Omni-Man is coming. So the element of surprise is literally the only reason Omni-Man was able to stomp the Guardians the first time around.
Green Ghost’s death is literally the stupidest shit ever. She should have just remained incorporeal for the entire fight. Even longer, to tell others what Omni-man did. Instead she stayed solid, which is how Omni-man killed her. She might as well have just been a regular human at that point.

It was actually really bad, even if you exclude any info from the comics, surely you can understand the fraction of his power shown ep 8 and how it is much much greater in comparison to the guardians
A main part that the show emphasizes, especially with the new guardians of the globe, is that team work is key. What I’m saying is, if the team had worked together, red rush would’ve still been alive and the team may have survived.
The old GOTG worked really well together. The new guardians would have died in seconds, which is why Cecil kept them on the bench. Of course their abilities are quite ill suited for a planet menace so I don't blame them but they hardly worked wonders together as a team.
martian man simply needed to keep his red dot ( probably his brain) in between omni man’s shoulder blades as his body builder physique couldn’t reach it. You can see how nolan couldn’t reach the tentacle on his back after Mark pointed it out

Good analysis. I completely agree. Since I first saw the show I've thought that the Guardians weren't very coordinated in their strategy because, each being pretty strong themselves, they never had to rely on teamwork to win before. So Red Rush was kinda the closest thing to a team player, same as in the opening fight at the White House.
I think Red Rush would also count as a heavy hitter, since he left bruises on Omni-Man's chest. He would aid War Woman and The Immortal while Martian Man wraps around Omni Man.
He should have wrapped around Omni Man's wrists like handcuffs. Hell, he should have turned into some sort of five point bondage shape that wraps around each wrist, each ankle, and his neck.
The thing about red rush is: he's fast, yes, but his durability is nothing to brag about. When hitting a harder object, even if he uses many weak punches instead of a few strong ones, it will damage his hands. His despair attack did really harm Omni-man yes, but it also completely broke his arms. He cannot do any real damage to Nolan without breaking himself, too. Except for going for the eyes. He could go for the eyes.
I'm really salty about Red Rush dying so freaking fast. He was by far the best member on that team. Red Rush could have probably been a greater challenge to Omni Man, but Red Rush still saw Nolan as his dear friend hence Red Rush tried light punches to knock him out... and Nolan just went straight for the kill.
@@diegoaespitia pretty sure red rush broke some of omni man ribs or at least made omniman's lung bleed internationally. All things considered, he's pretty op.
In the comic, there is an alternate timeline where the Guardians defeat Omni-Man without Aquarius. Omni-Man couldn't jump the gun on fighting them in the alternate timeline fight, and they get the upper hand on him.

@@abdullahelnaas4473 Well they also had concrete proof he had gone off the deep end, that being him chasing down a battered and bloodied invincible. All invincible really did was show and tell them what was going on with Omni-Man. The only thing they needed to know to have a shot at winning was that they weren't fighting a brainwashed friend, but a full blown deceiver.
Treat Omni-Man like a raid boss and divide the team amongst their skills. Red Rush for instance should not focus on attacks at all and should prioritize a support roll. He saved two Guardians already and could easily add to the longevity of the team by doing so, same with Green Ghost being able to phase other Guardians to ensure their safety. Martian Man, Aquarus, and Dark Wing lack heavy offensive power but all have a strong suppressive or distractive aspect to each of them, swapping between each suppressive tactic would suppress Omni-Man. Immortal and War Woman are the heavy hitters or DPS of the team and did the most damage to Omni-Man in the initial fight. Viltrumites seem weakest to blunt damage as well so aiming for the skull was effective, just that the whole team would be present that time around.

I felt like Red Rush was the most crucial part of ensuring the Guardians' victory over Omni-Man, given his abilty to rescue everyone. Once he let himself get caught, they were picked off one by one and lost the edge they needed to win.
Had war woman given him her mace so he could hit harder and had the rest of the team been self-sufficient and avoiding omniman and not relying so heavily on him he could have taken on me man out on his own because he was straight up faster and stronger than him he only lost because he was distracted trying to save his friends
The important thing to consider as well is that a lot of the team struggles to be useful because of the speed at which omni man moves. They are already well coordinated but you cant out strategize something you cant see
That wasnt little time. Their time relative to earths was different. He spent about 2 months there. But on earth it were a few minutes. He grew a beard there to prove it.
And people say that videogames doesn't add anything, everyone on this comment section is more strategic intelligent than the guardians combined, me and my teammates on any game make better decisions
Another note I might add for Red Rush and his defense is just before omni man punches war woman you see red flash hit his fist I assume this is to stop the fist or atleast make it lose momentum. This is a great defense tool and sadly not used enough
The trick is getting him to stay still, war women’s mace takes a bit of time to swing, and if he could predict what Red Rush did, he probably studied how she attacked as well, and probably would have either dodged it or uppercut her as she raised her weapon to swing. If he stays still it becomes a lot easier, which is why the Martian is crucial to this fight
That's literally how he managed to get a hit on her. As she was swinging it left her wide open and he punched her before slamming her head into the ground.
I doubt he had to study how she attacked. His speed, strength, and martial arts advantage over her is already enormous. She couldn't even hit him from behind right before she died. Only seemed necessary to study the gimmicky powers like Green Ghost and the Martian. And also Red Rush because Red Rush is the only one actually better than him at anything. Studying for War Woman would be like a black belt studying to beat a white belt.
You know... why not give the mace to Red Rush? He's probably more capable of catching Omni-Man off guard with it, and in all likelihood he should be able to essentially play a game of dark souls dodging/blocking long enough for green ghost to go for the disable.

One thing that should also be noted:
In the TV-show it is very clear that the Guardians would be a serious obstacle to a Viltrumite invasion, because Omni-Man is *not* an average Viltrumite, but part of their warrior elite.

But this logic involves ignoring the stuff we actually see on screen.

If he hadn’t tried to fight Nolan on his own they could have won the fight
Let's remember that Omniman can destroy heads in an instant, Red Rush did as much damage as he did in less than a second. He could also deflect Omniman's punches. Playing defensive until the right moment would have allowed Red Rush to knock out Omniman, with a lot of broken bones, but alive.
I think Red Rush's sole focus should've actually been damage control. He broke his arms punching Omniman, but could move Guardians out of harm's way all day.

She literally saw one of her friends splatter her other friend like a Jackson Pollock painting all over the ground. Imagine if your a police officer and the chief of police shot one of your coworkers dead out of nowhere.

Have a damn good day
I enjoyed the video, but I have to mention I respect how popular this channel is despite the flash era level microphone quality lol
Terrific breakdown.
Well done.
You can see how nolan couldn’t reach the tentacle on his back after Mark pointed it out
I’ll just randomly think this exact thought. They really coulda taken him out(I also always thought it was his heart. But it being his brain makes more sense)
@@Highminded12 lets be real they were never gonna beat Omni-man😂
I think omni man consistantly trying to break free moves him around cause he would have to consistantly straining
i think that's probably his heart, not his brain (if you slow down the part at 1:28 you can see my point)
@@eljefe9140 si lo iban a vencer, de hecho, en el cómic cuando mark viaja al pasado le advierte a los guardianes que se preparen para el ataque de omni-man ellos logran vencerlo con facilidad
This was a very good video! Your scripting and voice are both great, if you get a better recording setup and some better background music this is professional quality!
Keep in mind doing so broke both of his hands

I'm really salty about Red Rush dying so freaking fast. He was by far the best member on that team. Red Rush could have probably been a greater challenge to Omni Man, but Red Rush still saw Nolan as his dear friend hence Red Rush tried light punches to knock him out... and Nolan just went straight for the kill.
lol uhhh Red Rush can only run fast. his punches are nothing BUT light. he has no other super powers

Poor Aquarius
can’t wait to see the alternate version in the show
Spoilers:
They had invincibles help with that. Also, if Omni-man just cut the lights like he did in the comics I think it would've been almost as one-sided as then.
@@abdullahelnaas4473
Well they also had concrete proof he had gone off the deep end, that being him chasing down a battered and bloodied invincible.
All invincible really did was show and tell them what was going on with Omni-Man. The only thing they needed to know to have a shot at winning was that they weren't fighting a brainwashed friend, but a full blown deceiver.
Imagine having the high ground and still getting absolutely destroyed
Hello There

Idk, maybe darkwing could have done something to mess with his eyes and ears, making omniman a little easier to pin down.

He caught them off guard. They were not expecting death from a friend
How does this man still have 0 subs imma sub
since Darkwing is their Batman analog, you'd think he would have been prepared for this, even if no-one else was
Nothing going to prepare you when you see the strongest hero on the planet catch a guy fast as lightning and pop his head like a grape
This is pretty much what would happen if Superman was the one that caught Batman off guard.
Not to mention the equivalent of Kryptonite doesn't exist
This is how Batman v Superman would _actually_ go no matter how "prepared" Batman was. You have to really really REALLY catch him off guard for Kryptonite to get close, and without a completely out of the blue ambush Bats just ain't gonna pull it off.
@@ItsMrChristmas lmao the thing is superman a good guy he wont kill batman, batman himself said it

They are already well coordinated but you cant out strategize something you cant see
I feel like that's why he went for Red Rush and Immortal first. They were the only two on par with his speed, with Red Rush even being above it.
I don’t understand how he destroyed an entire alien civilization in such little time but here he takes so much damage to the point of unconscious
That wasnt little time. Their time relative to earths was different. He spent about 2 months there. But on earth it were a few minutes. He grew a beard there to prove it.
So basically
Red rush&Green ghost-Defense
Immortal&War Woman-Meele offense
The rest distractions
And people say that videogames doesn't add anything, everyone on this comment section is more strategic intelligent than the guardians combined, me and my teammates on any game make better decisions
Real life is much harder to make decisions then in videogames
Aquarius and dark wing are support
@@LuisFelipe-pq9lr i wish i had coordination with my team in games
Red Rush should hold Green Ghost so they can save others when needed.
I thought the same thing, if darkwing used a smoke granade Red Rush could save everyone and regroup creating a strategy
Nice background music
Tbh Darkwing as a Batman parody already should have came up with a plan to take Omniman down.
Another note I might add for Red Rush and his defense is just before omni man punches war woman you see red flash hit his fist I assume this is to stop the fist or atleast make it lose momentum. This is a great defense tool and sadly not used enough
Good catch.
It's a shame this doesn't work on crushing attacks
@@justjoking5252 If Omni man can catch his fist he’d be asked to block the mace, and plus the guardians were caught with their pants down, meaning they had no time to plan and probably didn’t even think of that
Would love to see a round two of this fight.. With the guardians learning from their first fight.
Great video!!! Now I wonder how the new Guardians would fight Omni-Man?
