Foo Fighters live in one of the most historic places in the world, Herodion Atticus in Athens. I dont own any of the music of the respectable owners. Music starts at 01:40
Same. I became a Foo fan because of him, saw them four times and it breaks my heart in pieces when I think we are not gonna see his smile, his talent, his art again.
i went there couple years back and man all i can say these folks knew how to build stadiums the accoustics were amazing no amps were needed to hear a person speaking on stage and we were standing on top floor simply amazing architecture
Well then, start thinking about Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, Jerry Garcia, or Paul McCartney , just to name a few. I get what you’re saying though. I’m a fan. This band taps the spirit of everything good. It’s huge. Not fair when we get robbed.
First crowd I’ve ever seen that kept the clapping on the beat! It almost went off the rails a time or two but it managed to stay on the tracks. Amazing!
As a Canadian I can confirm that North American crowds are terrible at keeping the clap going in a steady way. I've got a theory that countries where football (soccer) is huge they are better at it.
From my experience as a Greek we are more than terrible in clapping in the beat. I don't know what happened that night (i was there). Perhaps the magic of this ancient theater did the trick..
I have been there . The acoustics are so good you can hear someone whispering on the stage from the top row. The sound must have been awesome that night.
Went to Athens and the acropoliis in may and was totally blown away by the temple of herodes were this was filmed, going back in June 2023,it was that good, happy memories and Dave and the band make it look extra special
I'm so glad this dude humped those commas to death tho, cuz now I got to read your fkn hilarious comment! Reads like William Shatner - you nailed that shit bro lol@@adambomb138
can confirm that seeing this live even just as a recording never fails to make me cry. Everlong is easily one of the single greatest songs to have ever been written in the history of humankind and you cannot convince me otherwise.
What an amazing venue. How the Greeks have preserved it and also turned it into a place for music, comedy and entertainment really stays true to the origins of the place. Just a beautiful place and beautiful history. 👍❤️🙏. I’d love to see a show there someday. I’d have to make the trek though. 🇺🇸
I used to think this was the second greatest love song ever written, but.... the other doesn't give chills like this does. The legacy and growth of this song is colossal. Also. Dave Grohl.
Dave and the rest of the band are on a whole nother level. I would've been memorized by the sight itself. The background is so damn beautiful, finding yourself selling out a 2000 year old stadium across the world must be one hell of a feeling 💯
“This is a call” was released in the summer before my senior year of high school, way back in 1995. I remember hearing that song on my way to my job at TCBY and then going out to buy the whole dang cd after work, and then playing it twice on my way home. Over the years, I have bought every one of their albums, and each album reminds me of different times and phases of my life. Anywho, I have long loved the Foos, and I’m so thankful for them. ❤️
Theatre of Herodes Atticus - This semi-circular amphitheater has a wide 1,250 feet radius with a seating of more than 6,000 people... Pretty Awesome...
that stop, amazingly tight and powerful. to me proves it's what isn't played that can create the most tension sometimes. great ending too. Taylor smashed it, what a drummer, and the guitar tones were huge.
Watching this....I think...aint it the life? I still cant get used to Taylor being gone, but now I'm thinking...having witnessed and participating in this magic...he lived his life to the fullest...so lets celebrate instead of being sad...lets celebrate Taylor's life!!!
Outrageously wonderful performance of a timeless song. The band's synergy can be felt with every note, lurching forward relentlessly. Taylor's tempo and ferocity is out of this world and a stunning reminder why he was a generational drummer. Such a profoundly great loss.
Yeah i wanna see you on the stage at 70 even 100 year old. Foo Fighters in my heart forever, by the way i was on the cocert you was giving in Göteborg when you break your legg. Thank you so much for that you didnt give up on us fans! Big heart 2 that. u are my hero!
I watch this video and am excited for the 2022 concert here in Valencia, Spain. It is a very beautiful place too and they say that they wanted to play here.
The Foo Fighters are very iconic. I have very fond memories of listening to Sonic Highways every day when it first came out, it’s a nostalgic record to me and holds a special place in my heart. 💜💜💜
Love the foo fighters, man. Was 15 when their first album drop, now I'm 41 years old. Thank you for such awesome music! Also, this venue looks awesome. I've been to Israel once, and it was pretty cool being somewhere with such history and culture.
Foo Fighters - Everlong Live in Herodion - Wow what a fantastic top tune from a truly great band - Those big stone steps within the amphitheatre are totally awesome and a bit scary to be rocking out on - Ever Long Taylor - RIP
Fun fact: the Foos were the first rock band ever to play this venue. It's normally reserved for classical music, ancient Greek theatre etc. It's a miracle they were given permission to play. And fuck I was there and it was SURREAL!
Greek people having some serious rythmic skills clapping a bit too fast at 4:39 . The moment Dave plays on they stick back to his pace immediately. That's active listening right there. 😮♥️🇬🇷
I can't wait to see them again. Their shows are Amazing. Thousands of people, singing together with Dave. It's so inspiring. You never want the show to end. My favorite band of all time. Foo fan Forever.
I last saw Taylor not even a year ago, it was less htan 6 months ago when he passed that he played in Los Angeles and I watched him live singing Queen songs and even disco songs. Can't believe one moment he was with us and the next he's taken from us.

Came here after Taylor’s passing and I am just so thankful I was able to see the foo fighters live in my lifetime. Just incredibly devastated
Never had the chance, have/had tickets for may in Florida. So sad. RIP Taylor
@@chairman4953 I had tickets in Florida myself then the pandemic hit now it will never happen beyond sad
Same feeling
Me too. I saw them in Ann Arbor Michigan in 2011 after back and forth and wasting light came out. Best show of my life.
Same. I became a Foo fan because of him, saw them four times and it breaks my heart in pieces when I think we are not gonna see his smile, his talent, his art again.
for a band...probably the most incredible place to play.
All I can say is wow 😃
Aside from Pompeii :)
and Arena di Verona (check Live and Let Die from sir Paul there ;) )
Insanely beautiful, historic.
Next to celtic park.

I think about the people who built that place and how they never could have anticipated this. How special it must be to perform there.

It isnt really iconic for rock, but it is a very recognisable
Iconic if you lived in a basement for past 40-years of rock music
OMG, RIP Taylor Hawkins.
The Ace Frehley guitar...very cool indeed. Ace has influenced so many of todays guitarists it's not funny.
I can´t begin to fathom how many incredible moments this guy must have had in his musical life.

I just finished Storyteller by him and it just goes to show the depth of character behind a person like that.
