Checking out a thrift store in search of a vintage stereo receiver. I was looking for something manufactured between 1975 and 1982--the Golden Age of analog music and stereo receivers built like tanks.

Man across street passed away and they had an estate sale all over his yard. I just happened to be on vacation so had the day off while I normally work every Saturday. I went over just to see and saw a bunch of vintage Realistic. Few bidders. I got a Realistic STA-2000, cassette deck, 8-track player, Lab-400 turntable, Mach One speakers, and Optimus 5b speakers ALL for about $10 total. Needless to say I am stoked. NICE receiver.

Well I have the STA-2000 and Optimus X-100 and they couldn't be better. Low volume, room filling sound, percussion floating in the air, incredible sound stage effects. How do they do that imaging? It's a beautiful understated receiver with the edge-lit meters and green backlit numerals. Effortless you know, superb deep notes and no power meter swing, just delivers everything in under 0.2 watts. Wow!

I used to sell these back in the early 80's. They didn't go for much more as I recall back in the 80's. It was a beauty though.

Please don't turn the Amplifier on too long with out the speakers connected. This my cause problems to the circuit.
