Sorry this video is on the longer side but I'm super excited to be a camp counselor and I wanted to show everything I was packing. I hope this video helps anyone who's going to camp this summer, anyone going to be a camp counselor, or anyone just going camping!

dude last summer was my first year as a CILT (same as CIT) and it was life-changing, hands-down the best two weeks of my life. I met incredible people as well as spent time with the same people I grew up with, and even fell in love. it's wild that I spend all year waiting for this time but damn it's worth it. you'll be old enough before you know it! there are no words for how special it is to see camp from a different perspective. everything you don't like as a camper you'll love as a CIT. sorry this comment is so long, but let me know if you have any questions or anything because I'm always down to talk about camp :))

I’m going to sleepaway camp this summer and I’m SO excited!!! It’s three and a half weeks so about 24 days. Thanks for the tip of taking a nail file in your day bag! I camp a lot and I always break my nail. This video Helped me so much!! xx

😂 I remember camp last year one of the counselors popped her knee out of place during the time I was there she ok now and I can’t wait to see her this year it literally only two weeks from now I’m sooo excited!!!! Srry this was long comment but nice video and this is a lot of stuff 😂

Im going to a leader in training at camp (working my way up to counselor!) And watching how much you brought for 2 months compared to what I packed for three weeks oof. Id be good for a whole summer. I mean I gotta have options! Thank goodness im great at folding compactly!

The camp i go to has a winter version and a summer version. I go to both. The summer one is 7 days and the winter one is 3 days bc its during school. The summer one has passed and it was so fun! In 3 months is the winter camp! I am already watching videos and planning on what to pack

I go to Camp Gravatt!! It is amazing!! We have cabins and everything is on the property. There is no hiking though. We swim in the lake not pools and beaches. We shower every night so I don’t need baby wipes XD!

at my camp we have bathrooms in are cabins and ac also air filters because covid. Its my first year. I know this was 4 years ago but its awesome

you probably won't see this but I don't know about that camp you work at but I would recommend getting getting a pair of Chacos which are basically THE BEST shoe ever and lots of people use them. But I hope you enjoy your time at camp!! xoxo

I’m staffing BSA scout camp this summer for 5 weeks so trying to figure out the best tips and efficiency for packing so I have everything I need. I have done scout camp before but only for a week at a time. It is interesting seeing all the videos and tips for typical summer camps (not scouting) since they plan for a completely different vibe, but I’m getting tidbits to use for my camp too.
I never knew how many people apparently travel quite a distance (sometimes over the Atlantic) to staff a summer camp.

This is so different to my packing for camp tho my camps are scout camps so I live in a sleeping bag and we’re not allowed shorts or jeans and no one brings pillows because they get ruined and we all just sleep in our clothes we also pretty much only wear walking boots (I’ve gone through 3 pairs) it is true that you can never have enough socks i once went to a 4 day camp and took 6 pairs of socks and didn’t have enough

Waite your camp lets you have your puffer on you at camp? I wasn’t aloud at my camp. Even as staff
Yes, we can keep inhalers on us because not all of camp is accessible by car. All other medications are stored with the nurses!

Hello! I was interested in becoming a summer camp counselor and I wanted to know how old you have to be to be one? I'll be starting high school this year. I always wanted to know if you needed background experience in order to be one because I've never gone to camp before but love being around kids! Thank you!!
It really depends! Most overnight camps you have to be over 18, but most local daycamps are 16. They normally want you to have some experience with kids because it's a lot of responsibility!
