In reply to Skygee-YOU ARE SO WRONG. The Stupid ski-patroller DID NOT catch up to the sled, the sled crashed into some trees below the video frame. The patroller did not follow any protocols and let go of the rope, the guy in the sled is lucky he wasn't killed by the incompetent ski patrollers at Mammoth.
I would love to know how this happened. Was there only one patroller in the handles and no one on tail rope? Did it slip away while they were loading the patient with no one in the handles?
That’s my dad. And he stopped when he slammed into some trees and shattered his knee cap like it exploded and had years of recovering and therapy to cope. But I’m proud to say he’s since been back on the slopes skiing as to overcome any kinda of defeat this incident caused him.

Wow, that's the worst patroller ever. I can't believe that Mammoth is so fucking cheap that they can't afford to staff enough personnel to put a brakeman on every sled.
Might want to understand the incident before you make those kind of statements. Tail Roper blew her knee out as the sled went over the top of the patroller in the handles. This was on the Avy Chutes and the uninjured patroller chased that sled down. By the way, you don't need a tail roper on every sled and Mammoth does use tail ropers on their steeper slopes.
The guy hauling after it was even more impressive!
You mean the guy the let the sled go and couldn’t do the job he was trained for?

You sound related
What's the beer fine for that?
That’ll be the last time he fakes an injury!
Now I don't feel so crazy for preferring to have to pull a sled downhill than have it run over me.
I don't think any patroller could afford the beer fine. But the fine should be a keg an a kick in the nuts.

The guy in the sled survived this on Sunday, *********, 2011.@Bea Me...Why do you ask? I was there.

From what I've heard, the ski patroller managed to catch up with the sled and get back in the handle bars.
