As someone who wears hearing aids, I felt so emotional watching their debut stage and it's nice to see people representing a community that is a huge part of my life, please support Big Ocean everyone! ❤️
My Aunt has hearing aids too on both ears, not sure what it's called in English, Cothear? I just found out about them and I feel so proud and happy to see that, knowing their challenges + them being Korean, in a society that is very judgmental even without having any kind of disability. I want to see them as high as they can get!
One of them said in an interview, Ji seok I think, that he's most looking forward to fan meetings and maybe talking with fans in sign language... That made me so emotional and happy! They're giving a voice and place to so many people!
I became a fan like 20 minutes ago LOL even before listening to their song Glow (that I just heard). I'm all in for these guys.
Seeing how no one has pointed it out yet, this song is a remake of Hope by H.O.T! The original was created in 1998.

청각장애를 가졌는데 아이돌하고 싶은 젊고 잘생긴 청년을 어디서 3명이나 구했냐
While they were training there were even 7 of them, but has training became harder (and maybe prospect of debuting less sure) some of the other members dropped one by one. The truth is, there are many disabled people in Korea; some of them are bound to be young with dreams of being artists. It’s just that the disable community is made to be so invisible in Korea that they just stick to themselves.
So it’s actually very brave for these young men to debut, and hopefully it will give more courage and visibility to their Deaf community, and disable communities of Korea as a whole.

As a local deaf vocalist myself I'm gonna stan these guys for their whole career. Just listened to Glow on Spotify on repeat for 3 hours while i took a nap. 🥹🥹🥹 It was a great nap y'all and i was streaming it bluetooth straight through my hearing aids. Technology is beautiful just like our boys. 🫰🫰🫰🫰🫰🫰🫰🫰🫰🫰🫰🫰
I have lost hearing in one ear, so this is good to know, that music can be streamed through hearing aids. I will be supporting these guys to go as high and for as long as possible. ❤❤
I genuinely think that these three may be the most talented kpop group, being deaf and being able to sing, dance and rap is something most of us could never imagine being able to do, yet they do it so well, despite how challenging it may have been for them, they overcame it all, debuted and were amazing, i believe that takes true talent and dedication! ❤❤❤❤

@@stephaniechrin4591 they're all hard of hearing, so technically yes, legally they are considered deaf and have to have hearing aids, but there may be a couple of sounds that they can hear despite being deaf

들을 수 있다는 사실 혹은 능력과 감각을 익힌다는 것은 별개의 영역이라고 생각합니다. 같은 박자라도 사람마다 박을 세는 법과 셈여림을 주는 정도가 다르기에 여러 사람들이 한 박자에 같은 느낌으로 움직인다는 것은 장애의 유무와 관계 없이 매우 힘이 드는 일입니다.
더군다나 청력에 손상이 있는 경우에는 음감 및 박자, 속도 등 관련 영역에서의 인지 발달이 자연스럽게 이루어지지 않았음을 생각해 볼 때, 보조 장치들로 청력 향상을 했다고 한들, 거의 존재하지 않았을 감각들을 익히는 데 많은 도전과 노력이 있었다는 것을 자연스러운 무대를 통해 알 수 있어서 감탄을 했던거고 그래서 많은 응원을 보내는 바입니다.

Facial expressions are a huge part of sign language (helps convey the words better) so they have a unique advantage there, they definitely deserve more recognition!

@@J1497d 제 개인적인 생각이긴 하지만 이런 부분에서는 AI를 통해 AR작업을 해서 음악활동을 할 수 있게 해주고 비록 립싱크라지만 긍정적으로 사용해서 앞으로 많은 예술 활동을 해준다는 그런 부분으로써 저는 좋게 보고있어요.

I want to highlight on how hard their training must've been. I can say with certainty that they're giving it their all, they said that they had to correlate with the vibrations as they can't hear the music yet they're such great vocalists and dancers. I applaud their enormous passion and hardwork❤
