  • One of the things that I really look forward to even before I came to Japan is the annual Fireworks Festival that is held in all parts of the country during the summer season.
It was spring when I came to Japan and the thought of summer always thrilled me. Because when I hear of the word 'summer', I hear hanabi. Hanabi (花火), the Japanese word for fireworks, was originally used to ward off evil spirits. It has a long history and serves an integral part of Japanese summers.
The Fireworks Festival in Edogawa was one of the best days in my life here in Japan. I have never seen such an amazingly magical fireworks display my entire life.
The experience made me appreciate Japan's culture even more as I witnessed one important event that the Japanese people annually celebrates. It is not only free, it also is the best place to relax, go on a date or even propose, and is also a good way to bond with your family.
I hope you'll enjoy the video, guys! Please don't forget to subscribe to my channel. xoxo ^-^ Edda

wonderful video. Do we need to buy tickets to go there? I am planning to go there 2 months later, but I do not know where to get the tickets.

      Thank you.
No, you don't have to buy tickets. Fireworks displays are definitely for free.

Chenyu Yang Yes, you can also do that. But most people reserve a space (blue mat) a few months before the event. But if you go there early, you'll sure find a space in the unreserved area.
