Chloé Zhao | Character Exercise | UO Visiting Director Class 2018

The objective of this exercise was to find a unique person whose life the would inspire the short film we had to create for the final project of the course. This person would either act in the short film themselves or be used as reference for the actor portraying them.
I encountered Chuck while working at the Knight Library on the University of Oregon campus. During the class Chloé broke down the essence of an intriguing character. Contradiction was the big take away and since Chuck was regularly printing out professional resumes and business cards - without having a business or any intention of giving them out - he fit the bill.
Unfortunately, Chuck was not able to be a part of my final short film due to health issues.
