  • Steve was fortunate enough to meet the Sigit Purwanto who is the Executive Chef at The Amnaya Resort, Kuta in Bali, Indonesia.
    They thought it would be fun to film a recipe together and of course it had to be the Balinese Classic Satay Lilit with a delicious Sambal Matah on the side.

    In Turkey, they said KEBAB ...
    Sate or satay mean skewered bbq meat ...
    And that sambal matah taste sooo good ..

      They do but they don't prepare it on Lemongrass, I think :o) It really lifts the flavour.. Thanks

      You could easily use another meat, such as pork or Beef Eric, it just needs to be very finely minced/ground..

    I’ve never heard of lilit. Is it traditionally made with fish?

      Lilit means to wrap or to cover that lemon grass (or any kind of skewer you like) with ground meat or ground fish ...

    Umpa lumpa stuff it up ya jumpa (lagi) . Said with a Lancashire accent. Will get you close to correct pronunciation.

    Friendly piece of advice: when you have handled pepper like in this recipe........ dont touch any private parts soon after
