Are we gonna talk about how there’s literally a part where they say Berrynose walked away “dragging his tail sadly” when he DOESN’T HAVE A TAIL?
i remember that. "dragging his tail in the mud" thinking um, you dont rly have a tail -_-
Ok, he has used his tail to covered his ears when Thornclaw was coughing, now he's draging his tail. So... Berrynose has a long neck and tiny legs? Seems legit.
I'm questioning Honeyfern and Poppyfrost decision right now...
either he is a freaking short giraffe either he is walking around dragging his butt on the floor - I am sorry but I just imagine him sitting down and then awkwardly waddling away dragging his tail sadly~
I SAW THAT IT WAS SO ANNOYING😂 I also literally commented the same thing.
He drags his ass on the ground, because the only other option is that the Erins forgot a major part of his character design that was a big deal in the book where it happened and part of the set up for how dangerous the fox traps were. And that would _never_ happen. (obvious sarcasm is obvious)
Starclan: *let's a murderer into starclan*
Murderer: *traps starclan*
Starclan: :0
StarClan: shocked pikachu face
'ooo didnt see that cominggg
But is there proof Ashfur went to starclan?
Maybe because Ashfur broke the rules Starclan's reality and universe collided with the Dark forest to portray that both " good and evil " can be on the wrong sides. That there are just cats who murdered and fell into a too deep to turn around rabbit hole. That there are just cats who killed to protect their clan but.. aren't both sides in the end just killing for a chance that in the end their beliefs will be justified and right?
Isn't it purely evil to get to decide who sees the light or who doesn't
Isn't starclan itself just a trickery of characters who think of themselves as higher and better.
Everyone is in the wrongs.
Were is the grey area
the forgiveness
the attempt to understand pain
These villians were put on their wits end as their lives fell apart!
For example mapleshade! She was never a murderer before it all fell apart! Her babies died, her partner cheated, her clan kicked her out for the same actions Leafpool and 10 different cats had done. Sent to permanent hell separated from her children.
Is starclan really good?
@@sleepysundew9544 There is no such thing as good and evil. Only good and evil actions

Lmao, I hate her now. Wasn’t Misty’s character about being a BETTER Bluestar?
@@jagerbombers6089 I like how they TRIED to make it seem like it was also about her not believing in starclan with one cat going "you don't even believe in starclan!" but nahp. AT LEAST Mothwing STUCK IT TO MISTYSTAR and I honestly hope she just stays a ShadowClan cat
I could not with her. She was SO out of character. ugh
Uh guys, I know you must be frustrated about this and I understand that, but, have you ever thought about it? Don’t you think Mistystar being “out of character” sounds, oh I don’t know, SUSPICIOUS?
Kudos to Mothwing for refusing to go back to RiverClan after Mistystar unfairly exiled Harelight and Icewing
Why were they Exiled again?
Yes that was incredibly unfair
@@sleepysundew9544 It was so stupid no one could even remember the reason
@@nyowo another reason why I stopped reading the series there’s better books and better characters
Correction: they didn’t fight in the dark forest, it was because they tried to kill the imposter without Mistystar’s permission. An even worse reason to banish them if you ask me
Someone bring in Hollyleaf’s ghost. She’s got a ghost to slay
That would be sick!
I killed you once! And trust me I can TWICE!!
I NEED starclan Hollyleaf to make a comeback on this series! That would literally be the best thing!
Assuming Ashfur didn't kill her spirit when StarClan got banished
YES
Bring Hollyleaf out and she'll fix all this
Sooooo we're just not gonna talk about how they killed off BRAND NEW BARELY ESTABLISHED CHARACTERS like Stemleaf over older cats who have nothing left to give as characters? Sure Rosepetal, Berrynose....but Rosepetal didn't really have much personality other than mentor, and I was hoping to see her more developed with her having been Bristlefrost's mentor...maybe rise to deputyship....but no. Deputy goes to LIONBLAZE. Not Ivypool, not Rosepetal, not any shecat but lionblaze. The Erin's need to kill off ESTABLISHED cats from previous generations to give room for the new generation to thrive and grow as characters. Stemleaf was robbed of being anything memorable because he died in such a eh way. Ugh.
Make your deputy a wet rag that can’t control himself and kills people, perfect.
@greentails eh that didn't bug me since Shadow was brought back.
greentails I think they shouldn’t have used suicide so lightly for such a minor part of the book. I don’t have an issue with suicide in stories itself, just have it ACTUALLY have the major impact it does. Shadow could have dragged Root into it or used herbs to hide his scent while stalking Brash, then just *use* those damn seizures to delusion about the Starclan.. trapping.. thing. I bet you anything Puddleshine won’t be paranoid about his apprentice in the next book.
(Lmao, forgot a major part of the comment.)
@@jagerbombers6089 I honestly think Shadowsight should've died. I know I knows I hate that they killed off new characters, buuuuuuut I wouldn't be mad at shadowsight dying since he had a personality and his death would've sped the plot along. The big war would be about avenging shadowsight, rather than just about the code. It would be great to see who would think what about such a war who would side with who, what the other medicats would say over the loss of such a young cat. Buuuuuuut noooo.
Stemleaf dying as a result of Bristlefrost’s actions is interesting for her development
One has to remember the ONLY way this arc is even playing out, is "the Clan leader's word is the Warrior Code." which is a code made up by a SkyClan leader-cause Darkstar their leader didn't like that his cats were objecting to him letting ThunderClan have a sizable chunk of their territory. So not only will the forbidden romance thing be looked at, but the "the Clan leader's word is the Warrior Code." HAS to be examined and REMOVED by the end of this arc. It's dangerous-it's straight up dictatorship like. So if nothing is done to remove that, then I'll consider this a disappointment.
Hello BrokenStar.
Didn’t you comment on the star clan battles trailer? I just saw you there lol.
I have found you on SO many of Tenelle’s videos
@@haileymcdonald4526 that's cause I love her shit and I have a lot of opinions on things she talks about? That's kinda the point of a comment section dude haha
Bruh I always hated that rule. I remember back in my forums days I made a few threads about this part and some parts of the other Warrior Code
I really hate how ThunderClan can never be potrayed as the evil clan even once and instead they have them be helpless victims.
thats so true! they just have to always be the sweet nice ones. In the original at least the thunderclan cats weren't afraid to get into a fight!
@@mollyfowles7863 Agreed. I mean, Bluestar agreed to shelter and protect a straight-up tyrant who used child soldiers to fight his battles for him
I hate ThudnerClan for the fact they always need to either be the heroes or the victims. That, and almost every main character is related or has some connection to a character related to Firestar. I get he was important, but he was also really boring after awhile of him always being the ‘perfect hero who literally never messes up and can solve every problem ever cause he’s in a bunch of prophecies’.
@@Pugkin5405 ikr. was hoping them to go evil so shadowclan can be the hero for once. so it ok for all the other clans to be kinda evil but thunderclan can't? windclan was bad cuz of onestar, shadowclan been the villain for so long and riverclan cuz of leopardstar. skyclan is still new so they couldn't be evil yet.
Shadowclan; * is taken over by a manipulative dictator (twice), and does shady stuff *
Erins; "They are evil incarnate!!!!"
Thunderclan; * same shit happens *
Erins; "NOOOOO. They are innocent victims!!!"
I agree that the dodging of Ashfur's identity in this book was SO annoying, and the "cliffhanger" at the end is so pointless. It's functionally the same whether Squirrelflight tells everyone that it's Ashfur at the end of Veil of Shadows or at the beginning of Darkness Within, but revealing it at the end would have at least given the book a punch to go out on.
VULTUREJUICE yeah we all know it’s ashfur the fact that it’s a cliffhanger isn’t intriguing more annoying like I’ve been screaming at the book saying “ITS ASHFUR YOU DUMB CAT” and they don’t figure it out it just is annoying to have to wait honestly
I am just expecting the most mediocre boring reveal at this point - either that either they better somehow make some weird excuse and make the reveal be someone else entirely - otherwise it's just going to be boring - especially if we go through one or two more books of everyone just wondering who it is and then finally being like: "oh no it was Ashfur all along who could've predicted that??"
The only way for it to be an epic cliffhanger would be if its somehow NOT Ashfur
YEAH other than the battle, leaving the cliff hanger meant pretty much... Nothing important happened in that book.
Wait, quick question. Are you kinda saying that you hate the Broken Code or something?
Every cat: We just need to figure out who the imposter is!
Readers: Oh my god
Squirrelflight: I can't think of a grey tom with blue eyes that ever loved me and may or may not be evil...
Readers: Oh my god!!!!
Squirrelflight at the very end of the book: Oh I know who it is! It's-
Erins: Ha you thought
What holy act did we do that deserves a 30 minute drawing a blank?
Also rosepetal dies as well. Who’s going to mentor literally all the apprentices?
Berrynose
Oh wait.
And Bristlefrost, her apprentice, has no reaction 🙄
Also RIP: Spiderleg’s long leg gene
ikr
NOOOO NOT ROSEPETAL
I think what could have been an interesting twist would have been (if the erins ever remembered their lore) Mistystar stepping down and exiling herself with Mothwing and promoting Reedwhisker to be leader hoping that her leaving the clans as well would bring back starclan.
Maggie that would have been sooooooo much better!
I feel like mistystar was very out of character in this book. Stepping down is totally something she would normally do. Also isn’t Reedwhisker her son? She would trust him 100% to run the clan while she’s away.
@@averyscott9467 I agree! Plus it could have given us at least some sort of idea who Reedwhisker is.
I also would honestly have loved to see some like conflict with Harestsr seeing as he literally trained in the dark forest like? Ahh there's so much more the Erin's could have touched on
Maybe she was tired of her backstory and wanted to take her frustrations out on Mothwing while she had the chance. To show her clan that she was still in charge and there would be consequences. ( far fetched but maaaybee )
Honestly I agree though this would've added to Mistystar so much. I respected her allooot but now she's so. . Different.
Maggie that would make sense!! Literally what she did in VoS made NO SENSE! Her brother literally died for that same reason about half clan cats to save Mistystar, but now it seems like she forgot!! Jeez, Stonefur’s probably really disappointed rn. Misty should’ve exiled herself too since she was half clan like mothwing🙄
I'm really annoyed by the inconsistencies in this arc. Did they even read the past books? Rootspring is fine about his powers being known about now, unlike last book. Tigerheart apparently was too young to know about the great battle, even though he was in it. It's just so frustrating and makes you feel the writers just dont care.
I mean at least give them some credit, they CARE but remember they have hundreds of cats to remember, their relations, coat colors, history in general, and there are I believe around forty writers, so probs will be inconsistencies
Not to mention Berrynose’s tail, which was forgotten about again. Berrynose doesn’t have a tail, dammit!
Tigerheartstar tained in fucking dark forest for gods sake
@@autumn8920 I don't really see that as an excuse... That's why they should have a guide that shows which characters do what and when. I'm a very casual warriors fan (never reread the books, skipped over several arcs) and even I seem to notice inconsistencies more than the authors do. Knowing the absolute basics about the characters (especially since most of these characters only have 1 or 2 defining traits or scenes to begin with! Most of them have zero personality!) is an EXTREMELY low bar.
Sam L so you skipped over some arcs right? But the authors should remember almost everything about those arcs you skipped as well... but even if you think that’s not an excuse, it still happened... so Idk
The fact that Mistystar exiles Mothwing for having parents who were in a forbidden relationship is extremely frustrating especially because her parents are Bluestar and Oakheart. In arc 1, her brother Stonefur was murdered by Tigerstar’s lackeys because they were “Half-clan” and she wouldn’t repeat the actions of Tigerstar (who was absolutely a “code breaker”)
Exactly! She’s becoming Tigerstar herself, exiling cats who are half clan or who aren’t “loyal” to the code. Like, jeez Mistystar, did you learn NOTHING about Stonefur’s sacrifice for you?
I was expecting some cat to call her out on that. Graystripe should have if he was in the crowd since he's the only living cat that saw Stonefur's sacrifice (minus Feathertail's brother who went to the Tribe and I think is still alive, but I have no idea).
@@romayora5844 wait was she there? I thought it was just the Into-The-Wild trio who were in the bushes

"You'll always have a place in ShadowClan." - Tigerheartstar
One thing to take away from this book:
stan Tigerheartstar and Leafstar.
We frickin STAN two good leaders
I have come to appreciate tigeheartStar dbdjdbdj
Do you ship Tigerheart and Dovewing?
Heres what I think on the Harestar should have stayed dead/is possessed stuff. When they brought Bramble out to be buried in the snow, they knew he was gonna die. That spirit even told Shadowsight where to leave the body. Spirit Ashfur was probably on the ready to leap into that body ASAP before Bramble could get a life and come back. Harestar on the other hand died suddenly, and we see that leaders come back pretty quickly, so it's likely the spirit needs to be standing there, ready to snatch the body when leaders die. So Hare probably just got a life and is fine, not possessed.
Morrow yes yes yes! I really wanted the plot to be AshBramblestar’s secret plot to get other cats to posses all of the other leaders bodies, and to take over the clans that way. I was really disappointed that Atleast 1 or 2 more leaders weren’t killed/possessed by the end of the book.
I thought Bramble couldn't start his next life bc StarClan couldn't reach him? Otherwise your theory makes perfect sense though.
Yea, I'm counting most on Akira's Spiresight theory. Howeverrr i really like Spiresight and don't want him to be evil. If Spire didn't know Hare would die, that would make sense
Sadness. Now we're not going to see anything interesting from Windclan for at least 30 books.
So basically Bramblestar probably had a life coming, Ashfur just beat it to the body.
Everyone gangsta till *the imposter isn’t Ashfur*
A Tree everybody gangsta tell your liberating thunderclan and the trees start talking
Agreed! It would be so funny if Squirrelflight would try to confront Imposterstar and say, “you did this Ashfur!,” and then he’s like, “Who in the world is that? No, I am so-and-so!” Lol, that would be so funny if everybody was proven wrong.
Of course it ain't Ashfur, it's Shrewpaw!

I'm still salty about Stemleaf and Rosepetal dying. Especially since Briss had little to no reaction to the latter's death, even though Rosepetal was her mentor and they had a pretty close bond.
FrostOwO I’m so sad about stemleaf he was my favorite in the book he was my boi he reminds me of firestar in away
FrostOwO I agree, Rosepetal was starting to get more interesting and then the Hunters straight off killed her off.
But we must consider her age and situation.
There is already so much stress and grief were she might not have the mental or physical energy to even grieve. Since her upbringing there has been death and lies left to right. Maybe she's grown to numb herself in times of need.
I’m mostly sad about Strikestone he was the only good one in his litter. And after every thing they put him through they kill him! RIP: best tigerclone and the Dawnpelt & Crowfrost line
Shrika Balguri striketone was the best! They REALLY did him dirty. I’m so mad rn😅
I think Warriors just needs a reboot. They didn't keep track of the lore and it has hurt them BADLY
I know right 😭😭 especially when bristle acted like she didnt care bout rosepetals and stemleafs death like wh
cornspoon
I mean she was emotional when Stemleaf died. It was only Rosepetal who didn’t get a good death.
Hearty agreement on the reboot. The Erins really should have kept a universe bible; it's almost required in some capacity with a series that long if you don't want inconsistencies, power creep, and lore mistakes. I mean, Artemis Fowl is a series with only 8 books total, and it still managed to have a particularly jarring lore inconsistency with a character's age in the 7th book. Warriors has 6 arcs of 6 books each, not counting super editions or novellas/side books. As a writer, I can't imagine trying to tackle a project that big without notes of any kind.
Coalitions of writers working on the same project, like the Erins, can work really well or really badly depending on how well they communicate with each other. Series like the 39 Clues pulled it off (haven't finished the Vespers arc yet, so I can only speak for the original arc). That original arc had about 10 books, each written by a different person with occasional repeats, and they managed to keep the lore and characters consistent throughout the whole thing. Honestly, one of the only ways that you could distinguish the shift in writers was that some of them had a different style with sentence structure and word choice that stood out.
@@anoushkashenoy692 I mean we didn't really get Bris's POV at all after the battle I think-
What I would want to see is for the Erins to just take the current Warriors as a base and just rewrite the series to be just generally somewhat better
A lot of people in the community have good ideas and if they were to perhaps start kind of taking more from what people criticize about it, it could become much smoother overall than it is now.
It'll never happen of course, but we can still dream about what we wish could be reality
I would like to swoop in and defend Leafstar for a moment. I can kind of understand why Leafstar is so indecisive now just hear me out, Leafstar seems to run her clan a bit differently than the other clans, she co-runs her clan with her warriors, queens, apprentices, elders, etc. She will never make a decision without the approval of the majority of her clanmates. Ever since Brashstar entered the mix, leafstar was kind of forced to make a decision by herself which is why she was very hesitant to make a decision because she is worried about the approval of her clanmates. I am probably just babbling nonsense so don’t mind me :3
Leafstar is a democratic leader unlike the other Clans, the others should try to model their behaviour on hers
@@Barnacl3_Boi 100000%
I love Leafstar as a leader, even when she was indecisive it was because she saw the consequences of her choices(differently from Harestar and Mistystar gobbling up Brashfur's words and contradictions because "the weather has been bad lately"). I also love how she is already fed up with having all these clans around her having petty arguments and she almost takes her WHOLE clan back to the the ravine during the Darktail arc, because "f*uck this, I'm out" lol
@@WEYffles She is living proof that leaders can in fact have kits and be fine. They way she has led her clan is respectable :)

Wasn’t it implied that Berrynose willingly helped Bramblestar’s Imposter to kill Shadowsight. Since he was with Bramblestar when he returned to camp and Bristlefrost saw them both.
So he kind of did deserve his death as he helped plan the death of a Shadowclan medicine cat. (Can we also talk about how Tawnypelt used the exact move Scourge used on her father)
I mean she hated her dad
Right? Berrynose was with Brashstar as they walked into the camp, it's pretty clearly implied he had something to do with it, or helped at least. If Bristlefrost could see and smell what was pretty obviously blood caked on Brashstar's chest, either Berrynose aided in Shadowsight's attempted murder, or he's a total idiot.
I recall that Shadowsight went to find cobwebs for a cat they heard calling out in pain, so I believe Berrynose was the one who was faking so Imposter Bramble could attack
The authors really should have clarified that to make Berrynose's death seem less harsh. Even have Spiresight's prologue say he saw a second cat! Or Berrynose threaten the Imposter that he'll reveal what he did to Shadowsight if he dares replace him as deputy. That could have been some interesting conflict right there.
I gotta point out one thing: They DO remember the deputy code. Everyone is outraged when Bristlefrost gets made deputy after Berrynose is exiled precisely because of that. They say that Brashfurstar is being a hypocrite and all that. Everyone but him is upset about that decision because Bristle hasn't had an apprentice yet.
So they didn't forget the code.
They forgot that Berrynose hadn't had an apprentice.
I did enjoy the book though I do get your grievances. I can agree that not much happened because that's just a fact but I still felt things were constantly tense, unlike in River of Fire. And this time I actually understand WHY they would be hesitant on doing anything. Killing a leader without much proof is a big deal and could've easily lead to RiverClan and WindClan waging war against ShadowClan. It also makes sense why Leafstar would be hesitant on making a decision. She's careful by nature and SkyClan is still pretty new to the territory. They're still mentally healing from the journey to the lake and Darktail and don't want to risk being exiled. So while it might be frustrating, it at least makes sense this time. Yes, they could've jumped into action much faster but I also think the 6 book limit is hurting every arc. If they jump into action too fast, they won't have ANY content for later books. They really should shorten each arc to 3-4 books.
If Spiresight does end up being a villain, I'll be sorely disappointed because there was NO villainy or bitterness in him. He GAVE UP HIS LIFE for kits. It would make NO SENSE for him to suddenly be angry at the clans. So I hope it's not going there.
So many people seem to be thinking that Ashfur has an actual power to bend cats' wills but to me the line read more like he's just arrogant and thinks he's just that great. The direct quote is "Because once I'm back to full health, I'll be able to bend any cat to my will... Just ask that skinny black cat with the yellow eyes."
So to me it seems more like he thinks he's _just_ that manipulative. Because if he had an actual supernatural power to bend cats to his will... He would've done so already. Maybe by referring to Spiresight, he influenced him into not getting help for Shadowsight? And while on that topic, I think Spire was so insistent on whether or not Shadow should trust Puddleshine is because if Puddleshine was the murderer, he could eaily do it again. Not so much "he won't help you" but "he might do it again".
Sorry for the novel, the video got my thoughts whirling. I do, however, share your concerns for the rest of the arc. Especially Darkness Within's blurp makes it sound like we might have 4 POVs again and we all knew how well that went in OotS... Not to mention that we have Graystripe's SE before Darkness Within.
Darkness within has a blurb out already?
Sin Wolfe
Yeah, for a few months now I believe.
i’m honestly bracing myself for it not to be Ashfur and it to be some weirdo nobody never talked about before and just... chaos in the fandom. Because yeah, I wouldn’t put it past the writers to do that...

@@shaunapurcell9436 Yeah... At least he's more memorable than the current RC roster.
Stonefur's death was incredible though. Fighting despite not having eaten in days to save Storm and Feather, BEATING Darktail, getting killed regardless, along with the three og protags watching in complete horror with Graystripe having trouble holding himself back. It perfectly showed how unbelievably cruel Tigerstar was.
Universe Artist Stonefur was AMAZING. he still is my favorite character to this day. His death was the most heroic death in warriors
Honestly, Bramblestar/Ashstar’s relationship with Bristlefrost makes me a bit uncomfortable. Like, he loves Squirrelflight, he makes a bit weird when he’s all over Briss all the time. Like calm down dude, you’re like 30 and she’s about 18?? Also I’m rooting for her and Rootspring. Just am hoping for more development in their relationship cause it kinda came out of nowhere lol
A Hall Bramblestar ain’t 30, he’s like 60
oh god thats giving me a sudden fear that bristlefrost says she loved rootspring to cover up the fact she's actually carrying brashstar's kits
I think that "Ashstar's" relationship with Bristlefrost isn't romantic. I think it's because she looks like Brindleface / Ferncloud, and Ashfur was ALWAYS shown to be very trusting and close to his sister. Like, it's not canon that she has flecks, but with Fernsong and Ivypool both being tabbies, as well as Flipclaw, it's kind of hard to imagine that Bristlefrost / Thriftear don't have some sort of markings as well.
@@fernfeather7665 i havent read past omen of the stars so that's just a fear i would have from tenelle's summary; and if it was the case it def wouldnt be a romantic relationship in any sense of the word

Unless Ashfur was just trying to get into Shadowsights head and the line means nothing. But again. Spiresight acted so weird that its also making ME question so wat. I do like the theory that Bumblestripe gave the attack away. I want Bumble to be a villain DO IT DO IT DO IT
Also. I do believe that the reason Bramblefake's personality is all over is because more than one cat is involved in this. Most of the time its Ashfur being a lazy bum being upset about squilf but every so often oh. time to do something, someone else swoops in either taking control OR giving ashfur instructions? Especially since we see, (in your awesome drawing), that ashfur can drop out of him. musical chairs with bramblestars body. My bet is on Mapleshade considering the Erin's love of her (I'd kind of be ok with it, cause Maple is super manipulative and ashfur is easily manipulated, I'd be interested in actually seeing the dynamic) but could be others. I'm still also hoping more starclan cats are bad but not putting any bets on it. Overall I liked the book! but your points are def true and I get why you took issue with it

"These are codebreakers for taking mates outside their clans"
Beechfur of Riverclan and Gorsetail of Windclan: 👀💧
hhhh the worst part is that there is so much POTENTIAL for a great story
I actually never got the impression in Silent Thaw that Berrynose or Bumblestripe actually believed in anything Brashstar was saying. They just wanted to be deputy or be given extra power like Bristlefrost, each for their own in-character reasons. By the time of Veil of Shadows, Berrynose is deputy, so the vying for his attention isn't really helpful to either of them, and Brashstar does start getting a lot more power over RC and WC's minds as well as exiling a lot more cats. They were desperate for attention, and part of that, before VoS, could easily be a matter of thinking that if they were close to Bramblestar they wouldn't be punished. But Squirrelflight was exiled, Brashstar didn't show any more interest in Berrynose after he was made deputy, and then reasons came up for both to be exiled. I still think his death really should have been touched on and there are certainly many problems with the book, but that's one particular aspect I didn't mind.
I was very bothered by how Berrynose was handled in this arc. I love berrynose as a character because he’s just an annoying, obnoxious guy and it’s fun to watch him get showed up. I think this “evil” berrynose was just so out of character for him. I agree he was probably just being obedient, but I feel like the Erins wanted him to be evil. He may be a jerk, but he would NEVER hurt a clanmate or willingly kill anyone. And they roped him in with bumblestripe, who is a legitimate horrible cat. Just disappointed he died as an evil jerk, which was so not who he is.
This is a prime example of why I prefer wings of fire over warriors. I find the writing to make MUCH more sense, and characters and events actually match up.
(In my opinion)
I tried to read it, but Im just not into, "magic dragons" and stuff like that. even though warriors has a little bit of stuff like that, its just not my thing
Absolutely ! Sooooo much respect for that series!
They both have their strengths and weaknesses.
warriors is better in terms of community and your own world creation, but wof has better writing and plot, so yeah, they have both weaknesses and strengths
Yeah, I think Wings of Fire is *MUCH* better in terms of consistency, characters, plot, themes and so forth. I do prefer Warrior Cats in a lot of ways, and I understand they have such ridiculous deadlines to hit, but the writing is really poor quality. It says a lot when fans keep better track of the characters and plot points than the Hunters do.
Besides, even though the idea of magic dragons isn't too appealing to me, WOF makes it so much more enjoyable. Warriors is a train wreck, we love it but they've had over a decade to get their act together.
Erins: Who could it be??
Fandom: it’s Ashfur
Erins: I bet you want to know
Fandom: We already know it’s Ash-
Erins: _seriously you’ll never guess who it is_
Erins: *laughs in secret*
GippyHappy very accurate
Tigerheartstar’s got some real neck fluff
But one thing :
I don’t think this series is going to end like that.
These last three books have proved this isn’t like the other series. I think the editors have gotten the fact that it needs to change and I honestly believe the next three books won’t be going as smoothly as “Bramblestar comes back all is good”
Oh, but it will because that's how they always end. I bet that starclan will get through or send someone down there to take care of it since they're playing with spirits on this arc
Also when Berrynose is exiled, the book says his tail dragged the ground.....his taill.....BERRYNOSES TAIL? I had to read it like three times
I HC that berrynose scooted out of camp. That’s why his tail was dragging XD
I think Ashfur already had this ability, how else was he able to get into Starclan? And with an excuse of “loving too much” no less
Tessa Weakland Yellowfang messed up big time
That would actually make more sense than Starclan just dropping its standards through the floor to let him in. At least then, him getting in would make sense
The best thing in this series so far is Tigerheartstar’s development. He’s chilled out so much.
Tenelle: BerryNose could have been a gremlin
Me: he’s always been a gremlin
Also I’m using this as my lock screen background because you are SO good at drawing!
Alternative Title: Veil of Shadows: _THANKS, I HATE IT_
sorry, when i heard about mothwing and he exile, i seriously broke, then said "WhAt?"
(edit): It would be so cool if Hollyleaf came in and was the one to end the crazzines, and starclan let's her become like Cinderpelt and have her come back! (i would die cuz she my fav character)
Ya, I used to like Mistystar, but now when I hear her name I feel like I want to barf.
Scorch I seriously was hoping that that was eluding to her being possessed or manipulated herself, but unfortunately, it’s probably not :/
ok but like can we just take a moment to talk about how shocked an crushed bristlefrost was when she noticed stemleaf died yet right after casually met up with rootspring an basically was like omg bro ily too
maybe spiresight was keeping shadowsight out of his body for a cat to possess him?
Anna my theory is that Spiresight was the cat speaking in the Lost Stars prologue. He’s obsessed with Shadowsight and his destiny cause he sees himself in him, and he’s using Shadowsight to manipulate the clans until he can take his body.
Sunni With an ‘I’ i think so, maybe that's what spire sight was planning on doing while shadow was dead, and decided to keep him alive due to everyone looking out for possessed cats at the moment
Me, who hasn’t read warrior cats since bramblestar’s leader role was assigned thinking that was a good end, listening to tenelle describe the plot of this new series: holy heck they actually did something new
Me two seconds later: oh... oh no... they sucked at it
Barnacl3Boi i would but I’m preeettty sure my local library is currently not letting people check out books for recent news reasons
The frick ashfur. Like, what the frick
Also this series had better be where Bramblestar dies. Also it would be cool if Ashfur gets annihiltated
What body does Bramblestar have to go back to, his rotting body? Is Starclan going to sprinkle pixie dust on him and he’s going to be better, or are they going to shrug and be like, Sucks to be you... can we have that and just have him struggle to do anything as long as he lives(which I hope is short).
Brashstar to Squilf: "hey you said you wanted more kits right? 😏"
I had a theory pop up in my head while watching this: could spiresight’s weird dreams have been ashfur/star asking him to ‘exile the codebreakers’ with him (Technically asking spiresight to be evil with him)? During tigerheartstar’s shadow, he was said to have weird dreams, could it be? hM
Alright but why would ashfur care/know about spiresight? At that point he was just one of the weird church cat rogues, why would Ash want a rapscallion like that to join him?
Dominika Jaskulska like shadowsight, spiresight might’ve been the only one ashfur could communicate to. spiresight could’ve wanted revenge for something that happened in his past, as like same for ashfur. maybe they found reassurance if each other and kinda agreed? i guess idk.
kinda like tree, rootspring, the sisters blood, and being able to see ghosts.
I do believe spiresight is the one who traded sides and told Brashstar about the surprise attack towards the end of the book. When he is talking to Shadowsight in the end he implies he'll recover and convince him just like he did the "black cat", which Shadowsight thinks is Spiresight. The dream,I thought was a message from starclan in the beginning but I'm not sure anymore
WEYffles good point.
I agree with what you said about Berrynose, although if I'm remembering correctly I think it was implied in the second chapter that he assisted Bramblestar in killing Shadowsight?
Y’know we always have Au’s and headcanons..
It’s disappointing that you didn’t like this book, as I thought it was brilliant (except Bristle saying she likes Root, idk where that came from. It was random) and kept me on the edge of my seat. But, I totally understand everyone has their own opinion, it is what makes our fandom exciting and full of ideas since others feel and see things differently! Loved this piece of art and you going over everything, you made me kind of step back and look at things differently. It was cool to hear it from a different perspective! ALSO the Mistystar bit pissed me off so much, I thought it was so ridiculous how and why she exiled Mothwing. Mistystar is becoming my least favorite leader fast.
Can you explain why you thought it was brilliant?
Bramblestar was a better character as Brambleclaw. Firestar did _not_ raise him to act the way he does. Willing to let the Sisters die, and even willing to attack a pregnant queen...
I still liked the book okay, and 4 moments stood out in particular, but other than that I agree with everything Tennelle said. However, the books also make me have a SUPER HARD time believing that literally every cat in ThunderClan couldn't just say "uh, f**k you and whatever you say and f**k the code. We can absolutely take away your leadership you way outnumbered." Because they present no one in the Clan as being supportive of Brashstar's leadership! NO ONE. Because apparently ThunderClan HAS to be victims. Nothing the book does makes me think that ALL the cats couldn't just realize how twisted a few aspects of their code are and unite against Brashstar. Literally only two cats supported him, Berrynose and Bumblestripe, that's it. I'm so pissed.
On a side note though, I think that Spotfur is really under appreciated and that she's a really cool and strong cat who the fandom isn't mentioning for some reason
My bones are *SO DRY*
The Broken Code sure is one long, CRAZY ride, isn’t it?
I personally loved this book, but I can see the short comings it had, I hope they really step it up in darkness within!
AngelCloud Animates sane here! This is actually my favorite arc
Ya. Veil of shadows was a SHOCKING book, and I really loved it. It did have its flaws tho. My favorite arc is the prophecies begin
Tennelle: prepare for this wild ride
Me: I AM READY
"Great I'll go get *not* Puddleshine"
I died, like literally
bro mistystar shouldve exiled herself too LOL
the leaders are such hypocrites, all of them its so annoying
Yeah yup you're correct
@@mollyfowles7863 apart from Leafstar
@@corastone9820 leafstars meh
(This part made me laugh)
Spiresight: So Puddleshine is the cat we can trust correct?
Shadowsight: Yes
Spiresight: gets Rootspring instead
I thought it was really cool when SkyClan attacked ThunderClan from the side like that. It made you think that SkyClan changed there mind after the RootSpring Chapter
Also why didn’t Briss put two and two together and work out that BrashStar tried to murder him it was pointless her seeing him with blood on his fur.
oh lets just forget that tigerstar was also bramblestars father and that bramblestar broke the code by training in the dark forest
Even tho I really like Bramblestar but the "idea" of him being dead is in my opinion better than seeing him alive again.
Don't get me wrong! He's just a bit boring in my opinion. I'd like to see Squirrelflight as a leader (except for her taste if choosing a new deputy like really? Lionblaze? I-)
But wow! I love the drawing and I rlly like your art-style ^^ Good job!!!
What if the imposter was actually Ashfur....
The ShadowClan elder who helped to drive out Brokenstar.
When I think of Ashfur I always think of that shadowclan elder
Unpopular opinion, but the newest book is my favorite out of the broken code books. I loved literally everything exept when Berrynose died cause i liked his character, and it won’t be the same without the sassy boi. Also i am super happy lionblaze is deputy! I wanted either him or Ivypool or Thornclaw so i am satisfied. Also Squirrelflight is leader- Squirrelstar is officially a thing!!
And lol, there is a mistake in the book. When Berry was exiled the book described his tail dragging against the ground. Ummm WHAT?!
I loved it too, great storytelling!
Shauna Purcell Lmao XD
I kinda sorta love the fact that Lionblaze keeps accidentally killing people
Im honestly going to continue to hold onto the hope that its either a cat related to the Sisters or somehow a Tribe cat, I know it's Ashfur but i really really REALLY dont want it to be Ashfur.....
12:06
I actually have this mini AU that (since mistystar is the oldest living cat in the series) good ol’ misty got Alzheimers because of her old age. If the Erins do make this canon, it would make a little more sense that mistystar forgot she was also half-clan. Just a thought!
My AUs aside, I love this analysis! I haven’t gotten around to reading the book (I typically get spoilers on some minor events/ tragic events so I can brace myself for possible sad moments and make it easier to *not* cry in my living room) but I feel like I actually might kind of enjoy this...? I don’t know, I felt like just straight skipping this book and waiting for the next in broken code, but I’ve read just about every book (I’ve read none of the super editions except firestar’s quest, and I haven’t read any of the novellas yet) and I’m not ready to break my streak -w-
SquirrelFlight: Jayfeather I need you to wound me!
Jay: no! Why would I do that!
Squirrel: well all of your siblings have committed murder once or more! I figured you would too!
Jay: not true!
Squirrel: Hollyleaf murdered my ex. And tried to poison your mom. Lionblaze murdered RussetFur and has dreams about murdering your father and your brothers wife. Breezepelt killed windclans reputation and Tried to kill you.
Jay: no. We are good cats.
And lionblaze killed the Windclan leader, taking a life XD
Mistystar: *Mothwing, you are the result of a forbidden, code-breaking relationship. Leave.*
Mothwing: *But aren't you -*
Mistystar: *LEAVE!*
Mothwing: *But your parents are -*
Mistystar: *LEAVE!*
Mothwing: *Jeeze, okay, okay. See you later Tigerstar!*
Mistystar: *What.*
Tigerstar: *Um...no you won't!*
Mistystar NEEDS to realize that she’s becoming the cat who murdered her brother, exiling half clans like that. She should exile herself then! Reedwhisker would make a better leader anyway
@@romayora5844 True. Warriors just threw away her personality :(
I am THIS CLOSE to rewriting the entire series starting from book one
I tried not to watch this because I haven't read the book yet and didn't want this to potentially color my reading of it but... ART.
Needless to say, I failed, but I'm still going to try to not to form opinions about this book before I read it myself.
Now finished the video, and... damn it feels like I'm just going to be looking for executive meddling the whole book XD
OKAY NOW FINISHED THE BOOK and while I can definitely understand your issues with the book because I think it definitely was the weakest of this arc so far, I still liked it overall and thought it had enough good things to overpower (or at least balance) the things that weren't so good. It kind of feels a little more like Forest of Secrets to me, with the main villain subdued but not totally defeated, which gives me hope for the next few books in this arc.
@@avalonwatchingvideos2683 It's also promising that Brashstar hasn't been defeated yet after book 3 and will hopefully cause chaos until the end of the arc. While they do need to pick up the pace a bit and stop talking in circles, nobody wants another "main villain dies halfway through the arc and now we've gotta fill the space" story.
Also the fact that Tawnypelt uses the same move on Berrynose as Scourge used on her father and no one mentions it????
Never thought I’d miss Onestar but here we are XD
im glad im not the only one who wasn’t exactly loving this book, it feels as if the erins are afraid to do anything else but the things they’ve already done in previous books
The only big brain prediction i have is that "Ashstar" got someone pregnant and that will lead to supreme drama with the kits resulting from this.
OML YES
See, that's what I was thinking as soon as I read Squirrelflight's Hope. She wanted more kits so badly but Bramblestar didn't. Ashstar, on the other hand, would probably love some kits. Considering how moody Bramblestar is, she might've just thought he'd had a change of heart. I'm not sure the author have the guts to do this, but it would be very interesting.
@@quicksilverchaos4122 ooooh that'd be so interesting. Squirrelflight deserves to have more kits. It's always sad to see a couple were one wants kids and in being held back by their partner who isn't ready to move forward. Idk just stinks in my opinion. It's also different for everyone else.
Is Squirrelflight....
*PrEgAnAnAnT??*
“I’ll go get *not puddleshine* “
Ashfur’s expression in this is absolutely chilling and I ADORE it!! Also so grateful you put your opinion in a video I loved listening to it and grateful someone else was as frustrated as I was!
you got me with the little jingle at the start, and kept me on the edge of my seat with the gr8 art
Ngl, I would've liked Darktail being the ghost haunting Bramblestar, or at least manipulating ashfur, because we all know how manipulatice he is. It would be cool cuz darktail could be in the dark forest and could maybe be the reason why Starclan is trapped, but that's just my thoughts.
Darktail hates the clans; and he was a hella good vilian but I kinda want him to stay away. He finished what he wanted. He did much damage to the clans and killed his dad. Like... does he REALLY know enough about the clans to know StarClan like that? Is he really gonna die and live by their beliefs (which he hated) just to kill more clan cats/punish them. I mean he already killed his dad and I think that’s enough satisfaction.
Dude I love the longer drawing a blanks please dont apolgize lol
You are just amazing! You draw so good , I love your art style! Keep it up the amazing work tennell!
This is amazing !! I luv your art!
Harestar is dead? I could've sworn he wasn't leader for that long at ALL. Well I hope Crowstar becomes a thing.
Harestar got resurrected immediately after dying though. So he's still alive currently. Hopefully he dies soon though, so we can have Crowstar. Crowfeather's too old already to wait a while for Harestar to die.
I'm surprised you disliked it so much considering this is one of my favorite books in the series.
I agree with all her points but I still love this book.
Shauna Purcell me too! I loved the book, but I still have issues with it
Same
My bones are SO DRY lmao I remember that video
lionblaze: *kills someone again by accident*
lionblaze: 🎶 oops i did it again 🎶
By now I'm waiting for Squirrelstar and ivypool as deputy
It’s official, Mistystar has gone senile
I mean she's like 16 years old so it's about time, I guess. She's practically immortal at this point.
Jawbreaker The Hyaenodon
Makes since because both her great-uncle and mother seem to have gotten senile in their old age.
The immortality got to her at this point, I guess. Maybe leading a clan of nobodies also contributed.
looking back at this its amazing to see how much you nailed with the exception of bristlefrost having rootsprings kits
-Dear Erins....
If the imposter isn't Ashfur...
I will throw my book into a fire and chant "ASHFUR GET YOUR SORRY TAIL IN HERE!" in the slight chance that he will heed my calls and fix the DANG BOOK
Lots of love,
-A very worried Warrior's fan
Diana W Well I don’t really want it to be ashfur, tat would be too predictable but at the same time i’m sure it is
@@bethanyhu1881 agreed, it's a VERY predictable, i just don't want all the signs to point to Ashfur and then the Erins make it Darktail or something
Guys it's gonna be Shrewpaw I can see it-
Ok. The Imposter is likely 100% Ashfur.
Here are my reasons.
One: The Imposter has blue eyes. Ashfur has blue eyes. Now mind you people are saying "Oh what about Scourge or Hawkfrost!?" Hawkfrost is dead dead. Also more on why it wouldn't be Scourge.
Two: The Imposter is obsessed with Squirrelflight. And hates Bramblestar. Ashfur obviously hates Bramblestar because he thinks Bramble stole Squirrelflight from him.
Three: Ashfur sends Bramblestar and Squirrelflight's daughter (Sparkpelt) to die.
What I found interesting was that there was dogs involved. Ashfur's mother (Brindleface) was killed by Tigerstar so that the Dogs could attack ThunderClan. Ashfur most likely remembered that (who wouldn't) and decided to send not only Bramblestar's daughter to get killed the same way. But Tigerstar's granddaughter.
Four: He literally looks at Squirrelflight and says something along the lines of "I came back for you"
Five: There seem to be some fire metaphors used as well in the book. And guess who tried to kill Hollyleaf, Lionblaze and Jayfeather in a fire. Ashfur
Six: He exiled Lionblaze and Jayfeather. Mind you he is sending everyone away. But. He might have decided to wait a bit to exile those two. As well as getting rid of Alderheart (yet again Bramblestar's kin)
And finally Seven: The Erins did state that the cat in question had a ton of controversial stuff around him. When it was revealed Ashfur was in StarClan some fans (Including me) questioned that decision. And alot of fans believed he should have been sent to the Dark Forest.
So all of this evidence is pointing to Ashfur. Like it can't be anyone else. I doubt Ashfur is working alone mind you (Cough) Spiresight (cough) but yeah. It has to be Ashfur.
Not Scourge. Hawkfrost. Darktail. Shrewpaw (I still have no idea who in the hell that is. I had to check the Warrior Wiki and was like "Ah. A side character") Tigerstar.
All evidence is aiming at Ashfur. I just hope Hollyleaf comes out of StarClan and smacks him again
I love your art! ^w^
~Have a great day!
I laughed through the whole video 🤣 I love how you put it all together!!!
Whaaa- huh, I must get on the same amount of time that you post. I really love your warriors drawing a blank!
