I feel as though her voice is overlooked because it isn't powerhouse where it's super strong and has a lot of depth kinda voices..but NOT EVERYONE HAS TO SOUND LIKE THAT you don't have to holler or shout hard and do crazy runs to be a great singer it's really about the tone and approach you take while you're singing.... you're Singing style matters too...in Aaliyah's case Aaliyah has a beautiful angelic voice it isn't super strong but it holds it's on and it's angelic( which I personally love) and she could sing very very very well with her angelic voice... it's really just how you approach a song and what emotions or what you put into the song and singing with it so I think in my opinion her voice is Gorgeous
The thing with Aaliyah she sang most of her songs in lighter tone so ppl disrespect her vocal prowess ,maybe if she did more songs that show power ppl wldnt undermine her
@@nthuthukomdluli1052 that's a factđŻ but that's what makes it more emotional for most people because she had the right approach to showcase her vocals in small quantities and as the years progress she shows more and more and gets better and better...that way no one would get tired of her... underestimate her talent or versatility... but she didn't have that chance like most and ended up gone before she could surprise a lot of people.

I call her the queen of song writers who reigned next to the king of song writers Babyface. Diane Warren also wrote the words and music to big hits like Have You Ever - Brandy, I Don't Want To Miss a Thing - Aerosmith, Because You Loved Me - Celine Dion, and For You I Will - Monica. Among many others ever since the 80s. I hope you react to For You I Will cause that one showcases Monica's vocals really well and will blow your mind away. This version of the song is not the same one from the album. Aaliyah didn't like the album version but, the record company wanted the album complete so she turned it in with the first version. This version she sings more emotional and with more passion.
