Jenn- I’m a children’s CBT therapist and I specialize in anxiety! This video is incredible. Thank you. I think that you’re wonderful for using your platform to educate your viewers on mental health in such a friendly and approachable way. 🌟❤️
Thank you for your service! You're helping the future generation. T__T
I am so impressed with the quality of your advice and the insight into your own experiences is so comforting. I've been in counselling for years for pretty debilitating generalised anxiety and everything you mention in this video is so accurate and EVIDENCE BASED! The most important thing I've learnt is that the goal isn't to REMOVE your anxiety, it's to be comfortable WITH your anxiety (don't fight or fix it, just accept it). Once you accept that it's ok that it's there and might always be there, you find this overwhelming peace with yourself ❤
Thank you so much, Emily! Sending you all my love! x
The core values part really clicked with me; I know I’ve been avoiding certain things out of fear, when I know I should do them bc they align with my values. CBT really is so helpful!
Yes! Coming back to my core values always helps me make the right decision for myself! x
I’m a therapist and just have to say- you did such a good job describing anxiety and the skills to manage it! I’m seriously taking notes to help my clients! Many of these are things I do with clients but you said it all in such a digestible way, it is so helpful. This is going to help so many people!
I started taking SSRIs because I was losing my mind last year after getting burglarized. The state of the world didn’t help either. I immediately found relief once I started meds and am so glad I got on them! For reference, I was doing all the things: meditating, journaling, affirmations, therapy, etc. etc. beforehand.
Posting this to let you know it’s ok if you get on meds if you think you need them!
Yep couldn’t agree more! It was not until I started taking SSRIs that I started feeling better. Sometimes you just need an extra push!
With regards to the medication it's also really important to note, that it generally doesn't fix the underlying problem. The purpose of taking SSRI's is in most cases to make you stable enough to be able to do what you've done - working on your maladaptive mental patterns.
I suffer from a lot of health anxiety, too. I dont even wanna write out what Im worried about because it could give someone else a new health issue they could think about. What helps me the most is also the "ignoring" method. And I get better at it every time🤗
Thank you for all the other great tipps! They will come in handy
I love it when creators share personal stories. it really helps those of us watching when you know the person talking about it has experienced something similar and puts your exact thoughts into words. thanks for this!!
This was my free therapy lesson 🤣 I’m eternally grateful for Jenn for sharing what she’s learned! 🤭
Can we please make these types of night time videos a series on your channel! Feels like I’m just having a chat with one of my girlfriends about life and love all of the advice ❤️ thank you jenn!
JENN! I AM LITERALLY GOING THROUGH THE SAME THING!! EYE FLOATERS WERE EATING ME ALIVE. Thank you for making this video. It brings me immense relief knowing that I am not alone in anxiety and eye floaters!
always love hearing Jenn’s thoughts and advice 😇
Jenn, just want to say thank you for being that older sister that is so transparent, reliable, and relatable. I've learned so much from you and I just really value these meaningful talks!
I’ve been going through a lot of health anxiety for the first time in my life and it’s so scary not knowing what’s real. Thanks for making videos like this, Jenn ❤️ It really helps with feeling less alone
Thanks Jenn, I have constant anxiety and social anxiety (which has gotten better, but I’m still introverted), so I appreciate that you’re always sharing your personal journey and giving us advice. The vibes in your videos are comforting~
I find it so powerful that you mare speaking about your postpartum experience, it will be so reassuring for others who may be looking for answers. It's amazing how our transparency can create space for others.
Optic/ocular migraines, no headache involved, just vision, very real, literally brought on stress, can be one eye or both eyes. Usually can resolve on its own within 30 mins, quiet environment, ice pack.
I have suffered from anxiety and depression for years. I get these
I pray😉
And great video, loved the word game!
ASMR helps also, I go to sleep every night to it.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and normalizing this experience. I dealt with PPD the first 2.5 months and didn't feel myself until I sought help and tapped into my community + breathing exercises. I felt like I was crazy for not abslutely loving motherhood or the newborn stage like I saw so many mamas online did.
this was such an informative video on anxiety - i truly appreciate the tools that you’re sharing with us, especially as someone who has never been exposed to CBT in the past. seeing your honesty and even vulnerability about your mental health gives me the motivation to prioritize my own as well ❤️ thank you jenn!
This was actually really helpful. I don’t have severe anxiety, but it does mess with my everyday life. I think I’ve learned to accept it, because when I do, afterwards it’s always good again. It’s frustrating because it is like a cycle and can be difficult for others to do.
I'm just so grateful that there is a youtuber like you, thank you for your existence 💖
I really enjoyed this video. The thoroughness, the night vibe, it’s different and raw; I really like it! Thank you so much for sharing. It helped. It helped me feel less alone in my journey and it’s comforting to hear another human sharing their struggles, journey, and where they are now, and I’m happy to see you continue to persevere. 💛 We got this!!!
Wow, super timely, thank you for this vid. For the past couple of months, my anxiety had been the highest I’ve ever experienced.. and I am 100% in that cycle you mentioned on the graph where I’m just trying to be avoidant of my triggers instead of actually trying to confront/heal. 😩 Lots of helpful nuggets to take in.
Thanks so much for always recommending Better Help. I’ve been kinda fighting trying it but am finally going to. Promise. I have to say, a few months ago I stumbled upon your videos during the roughest time ever and they helped me tremendously. I literally sat depressed for about 4 days watching your vids in chronological order 😆 And they seriously lifted me up. I’m all caught up, and couldn’t admire you and your journey more. Thanks for your sheer honesty, insight & heart always 💓💓💓
This was so, so helpful - thank you for being so generous in sharing these tips! I feel like this is a video I'll definitely be coming back to
One of the most helpful videos on CZcams, period.
Jenn I’ve been rocking with you for 10 years and I keep coming back because you’re the realest! Love you so much!
My favourite types of videos. Honest, real, helpful and filled with positivity! Thank you for sharing 🤍
I literally had a heart to heart with my mom discussing this exact topic last night. Anxiety is very present in my family and she was being so judgmental about the “weird” behaviors of my cousin and me and my sister and my niece and nephew and aunt and I had to literally break it down for her: we all struggle with anxiety and depression, this is why she doesn’t shower or he can’t be alone or she panics when she leaves her house or I wear lose tops (I feel constricted like I’m choking in tight fitting clothes) and we are all just learning how to manage our triggers so we can function out in the world, sometimes we have to be accommodating to each other’s needs and judging them isn’t helpful, what’s helpful is understanding where they are coming from and giving them the space and support they need to get through it. It was like I could literally see the lightbulb turn on in her head like it had literally never occurred to her that people could possibly struggling with mental health. I can tell this sunk in because later she brought it up and was asking about other things she observed and I was like yes, now that we know what it can look like it’s not our place to intervene and go tell them that they are being “weird”, it’s our place to be supportive of their needs so they can learn manage their mental health without judgment and her face was like 🤯
This video makes me extremely emotional. Because it's exactly what I went through and I felt so alone. So misunderstood because everyone told me I was fine and that I was just being paranoid. I started therapy and it's been helping but I still have my days. Thank you for this Jenn ❤️
Thank you for being you, Jenn :) me and my bestie have watched you for a decade!
Jenn this made me feel so understood. I have a lot of health anxiety, especially since I had a stealthing experience recently, and I need time to be checked for any infections. I have no specific symptoms but the small trauma and my constant fear of health issues are obsessing me. Thank you, this relieved me a bit. I need to reframe some things. ❤️
Loved this! As a therapist and a person who deals with health anxiety myself, it's super useful to hear what resonated with you from your therapy.
Amazing video! Love this kind of content thank you for sharing Jenn!!! 💕
Loved this video. The way you put it all and described it really made a lot of sense. Fighting hypochondria and other obsessive behaviors by just not doing the compulsion is honestly so powerful over time.
you are so thoughtful and insightful, and your vulnerability in sharing your struggles and (and successes!) truly does make a difference to your viewers. thank you for helping to minimize mental health stigma and being open!
This was so empowering and so incredibly helpful. Thank you for sharing these tools and sharing your journey! I’m definitely going to try these! Hope your journey with anxiety gets better.
Jenn! I cried while watching you share because I just started CBT and feel like for the first time in a while I am really learning about anxiety and how it functions. It feels relieving to know I am not alone and that there are tools to help manage anxiety.
Thank you for sharing, Jenn! I always believe knowledge is best used when it is shared. I know these tips are going to help me and so many others in this community. Whenever I feel anxiety rising I repeat this mantra in Spanish, “confio y suelto” which translates to “I trust and I let go”. When we let go, we flow 🌟
Thank you for making this video. What you are doing is important and helps people.
I always love how open you are, Jenn! Thank you for sharing your story. 🥰
This is so insightful! Thanks for sharing, Jenn 🥹❤️
Honestly the description of anxiety as a little monster in your head has been more helpful than I thought it would be… It’s been a few days since I watched this video and it’s already helping me so much! Thank you for sharing this❤️
Love this video so much! Been battling anxiety for quite some time now and i’m learning a lot from your videos. Thank you, Jenn. 🤍
Thank you so much for allocating time for this video!! It just came in the right time~ thank you so much Jenn!! 💜💜💜
Jenn I haven’t even watched the video yet, just seeing the icon made me happy and I’m so thankful for you and all your work and dedication. Definitely feel like you are all our big sister! Thank you 💖
at 6:30, "don't fall in the trap of doing what the anxiety monster says. it provides you temporary relief but you're not letting anxiety run its course. This trains your brain that you can tolerate a full anxiety cycle." - this perfectly explains how my anxiety absolutely dissipated / got obliterated after my Vipassana course.
I had to go through anxiety and anger cycles on my own through meditation in silence with no tech, no conversing.. super hardcore way to learn how to get through an anxiety cycle. I'm saying this 3 months after coming back home from Vipassana. Crazy!
What Vipassana course did you take? I would be interested.
@itsyessli, all first time go-ers must do the 10 day Vipassana course. I went to the one on Vancouver island, Duncan. It was a smaller setting, during COVID (so even smaller) which was so nice because I had more one-on-one time with the teacher. After you complete the 10-day course, you can attend 1 day sits, 30 day sits, 40 day sits and volunteer! I loved my experience and would go every year to sit and volunteer when I can
Thank you so much Jenn! I’ve been struggling with my anxiety lately and the way you shared helped me distract my mind haha. Hope I can deal with my anxiety completely!
Jenn, you are one of the few CZcamsrs of whom I will actually watch through and listen intently to your ads. Thank you for making this video!
Thank you for this Jenn ♡ Since last year i've been feeling more anxious and sad (even before that I experience a few panic/anxiety attacks). I went to see a psycologist once but it didn't help alot, it wasn't the best match. Since then I've been scare to seek for help because that left me feeling like what I felt wasn't that big of a deal. Even tho I know, my mental health isn't how it was supposed to be.
So yeah, thank you so much for what you talked about. Your videos always make me feel like someone understands me and respects my feelings. I wish you the best Jenn ♡
Theses videos are priceless, thank you so much for sharing these with us ❤️
Jenn I literally never comment on videos but this was so helpful thank u so much for sharing these tips, would love to hear more in the future ❤️
Thanks for the awesome video, Jenn! Love you 💜
I swear health anxiety is the worst! Love the TV visualization tip, thanks for sharing Jenn! 🥰
another inspiring talk from big sis jenn 🧡🧡 I never really wanted to take a look at my own anxiety level bc I always felt like it was downplaying people who have it much worse than me. I think after this video it made me feel more comfortable accepting that everyone has their own anxieties & the important thing is to seek the right help/resources and not let it take over your life. I def needed this talk today bc of some personal things i’m going through now so i’m grateful I stumbled upon this today. thank you!
this was a fabulous video with TONS of amazing tools.thanks so much for sharing; im going to try some of these tecniques
You have no idea how much I needed this right now. I’ve been struggling with constant health anxiety for months now, and it’s been debilitating. Thank you thank you
This was so relatable and the advice was so helpful! Thank you ☺️
I am always feel so comforted by your videos and have helped me through some hard times ,Thank You
I appreciate what you do! and you are an amazing mom!
Hi Jenn, last year i had a cold sore outbreak on my lip that turned into an entire bacterial infection that spread across my lips. i had never experienced something like this nor had i ever had a cold sore in my life. with covid, no doctors were seeing patients in person so i had to wait weeks before being seen and weeks again for seeing a dermatologist. i went to 3 dermatologists before i was properly swabbed and given the right medication. even a year later my lips are healing.. when you talked about riding the anxiety out it really resonated with me because ive had to train and tell myself over and over that 'it will pass' and that our bodies have an immune system designed to fight off diseases, and have to also constantly remind myself to trust the process. thank you for sharing your story
aw I really needed this, you're so real and inspirational
So many helpful tips in this video and thank you for being genuine and vulnerable with us! ♥️
Thank you so much for this video!💗Truly. It helped give me hope and motivation. I’ve been dealing with more anxiety lately and it’s been so hard.
I love watching your videos. You are so honest and not afraid to be vulnerable. It helps a lot of people. I appreciate you. :)
Jenn thank you for discussing this, i was having my own phase of health anxiety around the time you out this video out. I didn't know that's what I was going through until I watched this video. And I would say this video is one of the things that really helped me move forward. Thank you ❤️
Hi Jenn! I absolutely felt emotionally safe in this video. To anyone reading(including myself) no matter what we see, do, hear, we’re all going to figure out what connects with us to believe in something. So at the end of the day I think it’s like this: a person who eats and stresses about wanting to eat healthy can be more unhealthy than the person who eats unhealthy simply because they don’t stress about it. Anxiety, stress is truly a killer of everything. Just try to go on with your day and you’re going to be great. Easier said than done of course, but I believe in you, you can do it!! Keep tricking your mind and saying this
Jenn, this is an extremely informative video. I can’t even tell you how much insight this has given me. I really want to begin implementing these systems into my day to day. Thank you for filming this! 🤍
I'm 5 days postpartum and I've become a hypochondriac. This video is helping. Thank you so much!
Just what I needed 🥺🥺 going through it these past weeks, thank you ❤️❤️
Thank you so much for all the advice! Your video is so helpful, thank you 💜
This was so helpful Jenn , thank you
Love how descriptive your video is regarding the anxiety cycle!
Jenn!!!!! This has been the most effective therapy session I have ever had. Thank you 🥹
Jenn Im, you are one of my favorite CZcamsrs but this video has helped me in ways I never be able to say. Thank you truly
You have no idea how much this video has helped me. I have been trying to find ways to not feed my anxious thoughts and do things as a result and these tips really help. Thank you Jenn!
Hi Jen! Thank you for sharing. I developed severe hypochondria several months ago, and I’m also resistant to medication.
CBT has helped me a lot, I’m glad you’ve found some peace 🤍
Thank you for sharing! It's so helpful!
I do take medication but these suggestions you gave were soooo helpful because as my therapist says- medication doesn’t give you 100%. You still have to put in the work mentally for yourself. A lot of these I’ve never heard before and will definitely implement
Always grateful to hear your advices and love you Jen!!
Please make more videos on anxiety!!! This really helps so much. Thank you for making this!
Love love love this informative video! ❤️ Thank you for sharing
Oh my goodness-- I went through the same thing w/ illness anxiety, especially vision anxiety (the same exact thing with the floaters/going to so many different doctors) for years. cbt is what really helped me too. this video made me feel so seen, thank you!!!!
Literally one of the most helpful videos I’ve ever watched❤️
This was a video I didn't know I needed! I will definitely be trying some of these techniques and looking into more CBT solutions.
Such wonderful advice, thank you for sharing.
Everything you said resonated with me ❤ thanks you Jenn!
Thank you so much for being real and being you 🍀
Love love love this video. I had some very similar experiences with anxiety and CBT is where's at. I had really bad, unmanageble anxiety and my therapist help me transform into the person I knew I could be and wanted to be. It's a long process but I'd not change it for the world.
This is super helpful and vulnerable and just sweet ❤️ You create real content ❤️
Thank you so so much for this content!!
Tim Box really helped me understand my anxiety and I have not had any episodes of anxiety attack since! His Ted talk and CZcams videos are amazing.
Thank you so much for this video Jenn.. I appreciate you 💚
New videos on consecutive days... Jenn saving my weekend
Thank you Jenn! I am actually in this period of anxiety
i've learned a lot, thank you jenn!
Relating to this video so much at this point of my life. I'm only 2 months postpartum and im already back to work. I had this anxiety of doing and getting everything done so fast, that if i'm late for just a minute, i would freak out and sweat a lot. This video helps a lot on how to control my anxiety especially the game tips that you have! So grateful to come across this video again
Thank you so much for making this video Jenn
Thank you so much for sharing. Your experience is valuable for all of us.
Dude, these tips are GOLD
Thank you for such an amazing informative video!
I've had health anxiety for the past few months and really trying to as you said accept it and manage it.
Im currently having therapy which is really helping me.
I tell myself I will not let my mind bully my body.
I also believe in hope and faith so much and use these to ground myself too.
