Hi!!! I joined the microloc community at the beginning of November 2022. I used to have to have a thick, dense, long head of hair. But after decades of relaxing and some health issues- I found myself with a much finer texture. I began looking for ways to keep my hair healthy with low manipulation and found the microloc community. I fell in love and never looked back. I can't wait for my locs to thicken up and stretch back out. But for now, I'm embracing the process and this new journey. Thanks for being my inspiration!

You mentioned not wanting to dye your hair, but I'm wondering if you'd ever try/review curl color waxes. I've seen a lot of naturals use them to add temporary color to their hair and it always looks so cute.

I just hope that I'm doing this thing right. Recently put braids in December I had no choice...anyways...kinda messed up my weaker locs in the front, I just intelocked them, I'm hoping as it thickens up that it will all become uniformed
Best decision I have made! The months are not passing by fast enough for me lol. I am only 2 months in =) People said not to wash your hair but I braid and band and wash my hair 2x a week and where my hair is interlocked it actually looks like a loc.

I've noticed that when I don't manipulate them at all they look fuller so I can attest to what you said about not doing anything to them. Can't wait to reach 1 year! Love your vids ☺👏
Congratulations on passing the one year mark. Your hair is absolutely looking thick. One thing to remember is Queen Eleem and Tykara started with longer hair and both have over 600 locs. You may not see it now but I can already tell by the time you hit two years you will look as if you have many more locs than you actually do.
I had to tell you this because I understood 1000% what you were experiencing when you referred to slippage around your perimeter. During my first 2 years, I kid you not, I had to re-establish my locs along my perimeter every month for a year and a half. 😅😅😅 . The 1st of January was my 6th year anniversary, and for the past 3 months, I have been trying to establish a new loc from the excess hair that has grown in around my temple. It is absolutely NOT locing whatsoever! 😂😅🤣. So , yes sometimes due to fine or looser hair textures the perimeter can be a very difficult challenge when it comes to establishing locs.
Man! Your microlocs are beautiful! 😍love the progression! I want microlocs so so bad😭😭😭 but I feel like for the first year I'd have to live in a headscarf or something because I have super thin hair and so I'd probably have 5 locs for the first few months😂 and everyone would laugh at me😂 more especially since they're not a thing out here yet so people wouldn't understand what was going on on my head with my 5 locs💔😫 Also they're super expensive to retie 😭😭so I'm still so torn for those reasons, but mainly the maintenance cost is what is holding me back the most!
Your hair looks great and I can definitely see the drop! I’ll be a year in at the end of January and I haven’t experienced the drop yet but I think it might be because I started off with two strand twists. I’ve also noticed that my scalp is more sensitive since I started my locks, even having my hair in a bun starts to hurt after a while.
Don't you worry it'll drop before you know it, 2 strand twists take a bit longer to loc so that would make sense. And I've noticed my scalp around my nape is bit more sensitive too! I never thought about it like that until you mentioned it haha

I'm now 16 months microloced and loving it too much too. my ends used to be all curly too but I think around the 12 month mark Ive fully budded and locked except my front locs that are still curly. I think if you wash your hair more regularly it makes them bud/ loc faster. (that's my unprofessional opinion)😊
Aww congrats to you too! Everyone's hair will naturally loc/bud at different rates, and I've been told that my hair will take about 2 years to fully loc due to my hair type (which is just an estimate) but I'm perfectly happy to let me hair do what it wants to do. I'm in no rush 😊
