  • Today we compare various examples of giving to analyze the different intentions and motives that can surround a donation and develop an understanding and taste for purer, higher, motives for donation. We also point to the way to develop these superior donations we call Ukkattha in Pali. In later videos, this understanding will be crucial to properly understand deeper points like how dānas can give certain kinds of rebirth and the weight of Dhamma Dāna. These videos are also helpful for the understanding of kamma (karma) that allows for a refining of our actions and facilitates the meditation/reflection on Kamma.
