Great reaction! This is a true tribute to Queen. The right to left is something they did. And when they pan to the stars, the four shooting stars are for the band members and for Brian May who got his degree in astrophysics. Brian May also watched this and gave it a thumbs up. PTX is amazing.
This is one of the videos where you can actually watch Kevin. Note that he has an entire invisible drum kit. He'll reach out an invisible drum stick and hit an invisible snare drum and you'll hear the snare drum. You know he made that noise with his mouth, but you just SAW him hit the drum! It quickly becomes surreal. When Mitch needs an eelectric guitar he _becomes_ an electric guitar, but when Kevin needs a drum, he reaches out and, huh!, there's a drum, right there. I love the way Kevin can make me see the instruments that aren't there.
You are right you don’t need to explain, we Pentaholics will be here for you. Sending you a big hug 🫶🏻
Thank you 💛
Thank you for considering us to be part of your online family via Pentatonix. That's very kind of you Carmen to be trusting in us enough to reveal very personal events going on in your life. Like you my Daughter had many similar issues with getting pregnant, but after a couple years of going through the hormone therapy, she got pregnant and although it was an eventful and stressful at times duration, she gave birth to a healthy son 9 years ago. He's an only child, just like his Mother who is an only child herself. but he most certainly is the total joy of their life!! Keep hanging in there and don't lose hope. I have prayers and blessings requested for you along with some hugs!!
Prayers coming your way from me and it seems many more of your viewers. I love the respect you give to PTX, your other groups, and your fans, and I'm sure you will make a wonderful mother. Thank you for caring enough about us to explain although certainly not required, much appreciated.
Pentatonix Bohemian Rhapsody Insights:
So, some things to know about this cover and video: -It took PTX years to get the arrangement to where they felt they could do the original masterpiece justice. -The cover, and especially the video, was meant to be an homage to Queen. Some of the moments paying respect were: The mono-recording of the line "easy come, easy go" followed by the panning of the voices from left to right on the line "little high, little low" (which is how the original was recorded), obviously the flashlights being used to mimic the lighting on the operatic part of the original video, the four shooting stars to represent the four members of Queen, as well as acknowledge the fact that Dr. Brian May is an astrophysicist, and the overhead shot of them lying on the couch is to represent the Sheer Heart Attack album cover. -The megaphone was just a prop. It is not needed to reproduce the electric guitar distortion. -PTX can, and does, perform this live with no backing track...something even Queen and the Great Freddie Mercury could not do. -Freddy once said he didn't care what people did with his music as long as they "...don't make it boring, darling!", so I think he would absolutely approve. -The overall video--with the "living room" and couch--is an homage to Pentatonix's own journey as a group. They lost their record deal right after winning the Sing Off and moving to LA, so they started putting out videos on CZcams, performing covers. They would sit on the couch in Kevin (beatboxer) and Avi's (bass) living room and just record themselves on Mitch's (counter tenor who took the lead on this song) iPad. Some of their earliest videos went viral and they eventually were able to secure a new deal, record an EP, go on tour, release chart-topping albums and win three Grammy awards...so they moved out of the living room and down this new, unknown road. At the end of the day, though, they're still the same choir-nerds they've always been; just happy to sit together on a couch and sing. Also when Brian Mays heard it... then he posted it on his web site with the word "ENJOY”.
so glad you watched the behind the scenes, so worth it, even though it makes me giggle a tiny bit every time I see them jumping onto the couch and remember Scott's comment about it....
Prayers for you and your fiancé on your journey to parenthood. No explanation was necessary, but I truly appreciate the respect you show to us, your Pentaholics. We will be here for you. You are one of my favorite reactors!💕💕
I hope we get to see a mini-Carmen cooing and smiling to PTX music someday soon!
Don't know if someone else has mentioned this but Mitch does the guitar in concert without the prop of a megaphone. I saw them in concert for the first time in concert in Sept and every song (including this one) was excellent! A wonderful concert experience.
You're right that your viewers don't have the "right" to your private life, but if it helps you to share, we're here to support. AND, we're here to encourage, support, and share the good news when it happens. Until then we'll continue supporting your channel and loving PTX with you.
Mondays are my favorite days! And best of luck to you both.
No explanations needed, but appreciated. I'm sorry to hear you have been having such a rough time. Prayers and positive thoughts to you going forward with your journey. Happy to see you back and loved this reaction!!
Sharing often helps lift burdens, from your mind and heart. Just someone to be there, not necessarily to give advice, can help.
Never apologize when you're going through difficult times... talking is its own form of healing.
The same happened to me... 3 as well, as i was in my late 30s... early 40s and financially struggling we didnt explore our options.
Especially here in the States!
Though now with what is happening here in the States politically... I'm for the first time glad i dont have kids that have to live in fear.
I empathize, and will send some positive vibes your way.
Blessings to you both.
So glad to see your sweet face! Although an explanation wasn't necessary, I appreciate how much you care about your subscribers and your desire to share this part of your life with us. Sending prayers that you and your fiance will be blessed with a family. Thanks for the PTX reaction. This is one of my favorites!
I wish much success to you and your fiancé on your journey to parenthood. I once saw a film of the making of this video. It was fun to watch all the challenges they faced. For example getting on and off a moving couch. I’m sorry it was a while ago and I can’t remember were I saw it. Maybe on utube? Could have been on their channel. I’ve been a fan of their’s since the Sing Off and I like that they are very transparent about the making of their music. It cracks me up that some people are so convinced that they add instruments. That would be really stupid of them since they don’t tour with a band and their fans are too knowledgable about their music. I love that you are such a fan.
Great reaction! Know that you are in my prayers!! Relax and allow your mind to not anticipate. Just roll with the flow!
Carmen, all best wishes to you on this new part of your life journey! Mitch is, of course, the star on this, between his Freddie Mercury homage and his electric guitar, but Scott not only has the rock section lead,, but on the "let me go" section, he's singing on *both* sides! He sings baritone on "will not let you go" with Avi and Mitch and tenor on "let him go" with Kirstin and Kev.
I’m happy to see you back, and good luck with your possible pregnancy. I do enjoy your reactions and comments!
trust that goes well for you Carmen .. Where Are You Christmas .. is a good one to react to
Wishing everything goes well for you. Sending so many positive thoughts your way 💛
💛
Prayers for you and your fiance in your journey to parenthood!! I wish you all the best and know that you are loved by many of us and we are here for you! Love all your reactions, you are my favorite to watch! Get your rest mamma to be, you will need it! Positive thinking and positive vibes for you!
Thank you for sharing your story with those, like me, who follow your channel. I will send positive thoughts and prayers your way for the best possible outcome. ❤🙏
The audio panning on "little high, little low" is a direct quote from Queen. If you listen to Queen's original you'll hear the same panning on the same phrase.
Pentatonix loves Queen, and they love "Bohemian Rhapsody," so they always wanted to cover this song, but they feared that they couldn't do it justice, so they decided to wait until they were sure they were ready. That took them five years, but it was worth the wait - they were definitely ready.
In the early days of Pentatonix, after Epic reneged on the recording contract Pentatonix had "won" on _The Sing-Off,_ Pentatonix started posting to CZcams; it was the only way they COULD publish their music. A lot of those early CZcams videos show the five of them sitting on a couch, with the trio on the back of the couch and Avi and Kevin on the seat in front of them, just five very young people singing their hearts out, making their dream come true. Note that this is the configuration we see them in at the beginning and end of "Bohemian Rhapsody," which is one reason the couch needs to move - it's taking Pentatonix (and us) on a trip down Memory Lane.
The more important reason the couch moves is that it's standing in for the car in _Wayne's World,_ where Wayne and Garth introduced a whole new generation to the genius of Queen by putting a tape of "Bohemian Rhapsody" into the car's tape player.
The couch was motorized, and not very well balanced. (Note that when they're sitting on it their feet don't quite reach the ground. The little curtain thing on the bottom was added to hide the motor.) It kept trying to tip over during the filming and actually managed to throw Kevin off at one point. There was a small platform attached to the back so that Kirstie could climb on the couch from behind - Scott, being a foot taller than Kirstie, didn't need it.
When Mitch lies down on the couch, singing "Too late, My time has come," they're referring to Freddie Mercury's death (the foreshadowing was, of course, unintentional on Freddie's part; there's no way he could have known, thank goodness). The other four are walking next to the couch to serve as his pall bearers.
Many people think the megaphone is distorting Mitch's voice to make him sound more like an electric guitar, but it actually has nothing to do with it. The megaphone wasn't turned on, and couldn't have distorted Mitch's voice even if it had been - it was just a megaphone. The electric guitar is all Mitch. Mitch happened to see the megaphone lying around on the set and thought it would make a cool prop, so it's been confusing people ever since.
During the "Bismillah" argument, note that Scott, whose range includes both bass and tenor registers, is actually singing along with both the high and low sides of the argument. Scott has said that this rapid switching is the hardest part of the song for him.
When the camera pans up to show us the starry night sky during Mitch's second guitar solo, it's meant as a tribute to Queen's lead guitarist, Brian May, who has a doctorate in astrophysics.
The four shooting stars honor the four members of Queen.
When the camera pans back down to show Pentatonix lying on the couch together it's meant to recall the cover art for Queen's "Sheer Heart Attack" album.
And when this official video was first released, Brian May posted a link to it on all his social media accounts with the comment: "Enjoy."
Isn’t it funny how Freddie wrote about a dysfunctional family, and you’re trying to start one?(No dysfunction). You’re right, only PTX could, or would attempt this song a cappella. They just killed it! BTW, don’t worry about us, concentrate on trying to bring us a new Pentaholic to love. We’ll be here.
Carmen, prayers to you and your health is the most important thing, thanks for the behind the scenes part, I’ve never seen this before and I would never thought they filmed this at night
Thx for letting us know Carmen, sending you all my positive energy from California 💜🌈🌼
You are one of my favorite reactors and you are such a sweet caring person, so knowing your time away wasn't an illness does set our minds at ease. With that being said, I for one am glad for the explanation because it then allows me to pray for your little miracle. Stay healthy and keep a positive mind and the rest will fall in place. ❤
Its so great to have you back. Prayers for your journey.
Carmen, this is another video leaving me wanting a CZcams "love" button. Like is too ... pedestrian. Prayers for your journey to parenthood.
Thank you for letting us know what was going on. All of my prayers and positive thoughts heading your way.
I'm really glad you watched the behind the scenes, too! BTW, Avi trained his speaking voice to be higher than it naturally was because no one could ever hear what he was saying (saw that on an interview long enough ago that I completely forget the source). This might be why his speaking voice is so different from his singing voice. I always look forward to your PTX reactions. I am so glad that their music still brings you so much joy.
Oh wow, that is interesting! It really did surprise me how different he sounds when he speaks 😂
Take care of yourself! And thx for the behind the scenes as I've never seen that before! Awesome!
Just came upon your reactions. So nice to see someone who loves PTX as I do. Subscribed!
Sending love & prayers your way that all goes well! Love watching your PTX reactions
So gla dyou did this one and the 'making of' Carmen. As you said, you really don't need to explain why you had to take a break, but I'm so sorry you experienced miscarriage and I'm really glad you are feeling slightly better after this round of fertility treatment. Crossing everything that you guys get to have your little bundle of joy in 2024. All the Pentaholics are rooting for you!
This is such an impressive arrangement. I do love it when reactors hear and see the 'Grassi' guitar! I saw PTX live in May in London (first time ever despite having been a Pentaholic since 2011!) and they sang Bohemian Rhapsody, of course with Matt instead of Avi, who did a terrific job. They sound exactly the same singing this live, even the Mitch guitar (the megaphone was just a prop for the video!). Take care!
Thank you for your kind message! The Mitch guitar literally had me shocked 😮
Carmen prayers and good thoughts heading your way. I didn’t realize you hadn’t done this one yet. It’s is amazing. It’s hard to believe all the beats are Kevin and then the Mitch guitar! Do you want Christmas recommendations yet? Newest PTX video is a Christmas original Please Santa Please and there’s a behind the scenes too. Thanks for making my Monday!
Yes, I’m definitely looking forward to Pentatonix Christmas music and will start with it soon 👏🏻
@@CarmenReacts Please Santa Please has a Behind the Scenes too!
25 years ago we were told my wife couldn't get pregnant in the common ways. Today our daughter is 23 and our son 19 although all the doctors told us otherwise. So, don't give up. Our hearts are with you. Doctors aren't always right, life often has a different way.
Many blessings your way!
Good to have you back. Best wishes.
As always, love your PTX reaction.
I knew you’d like the guitar solo…
You really don't need to explain but I am glad you did so we can pray for God's will for you and your fiance to be able to bring a healthy baby into this world...the world needs more special, beautiful people like you. ❤🙏
Thank you so much 💛
Prayers and hugs ❤
What a difficult journey for you both. My condolences on your losses. I'm sending my best vibes for your success. Thank you. I loved that you did the background video too. I NEVER see that and it's great together. Peace!
I will cross all of my fingers and toes that this works, but no guarantees and I know you realize that. I'm sorry for your losses and I know this must be very difficult for you. Sending you big hugs and you take all of the time you need any time you need it. You are a very sweet young woman and I wish the best for you both.
Thank you so much, all your support means a lot 💛
Sending prayers that you and your fiancé will be blessed with a family. I look forward to your reactions on PTX Mondays.
To me everything they do is amazing. I swear they got me through Covid and I will be forever grateful to them.
Huge Prayers and Blessings be sent to you and your fiancee' 🙏🙏🙏 I believe you will be awesome parents. Love your reactions and your sweet disposition and lovely spirit and beautiful face. Most importantly take care of you during this amazing time. No added stress just positivity. Peace Blessings and Love to you and your fiancee.✌🙏🤗
Prayers for success on this new journey ❤
You could have a look at some of their ptxperience tour videos, they can be fun behind the scenes stuff.
Aww, thank you for sharing! Wishing you and your fiance great luck in this pregnancy journey!! 🤗🙏
A member of Queen has a link to this on their web page
I just went through your playlist. I had already watched most of them, but I noticed a few that are on my "favorites" list that you haven't reacted to yet. I really think you would enjoy Rather Be, Gold, and Come Along. I know I would enjoy watching you react to them! You are so sweet and you're in my prayers!
2 of the 3 were already on my list but I added the other one as well! I’m going into Christmas music soon, but I will definitely react to these soon! 😊
Good luck sweetie💗we wish you well and lots of love💗
First, let me say I am sending all the positive vibes I can muster to you on your journey to motherhood.
I am glad you are feeling better! I know you like Avi's voice (me too) and I always listen to him when I need to relax and reset my mind. Especially, Otherside, alternate version of Aberdeen, and Floating on a Dream. I hope this helps in some small way
On a side note Avi is releasing a new song called Healing on November 17th, so keep a lookout for that too. Cheers!
So glad you are back. Wishing you best of luck and prayers. Fun fact, this entire video was recorded outdoors on a closed street overnight. Check out the making of this video.
My reaction to the behind the scenes video is at the end of this video 🙂
@CarmenReacts yeah sorry I jumped the gun on that. Lol. I made the comment before I was done watching the video then saw your reaction to the making of it. Love your reactions. 🙂
All best wishes to you!
Thanks so much for sharing. Good luck to you on your infertility emotional roller coaster. Having been there myself, I know what you are going through. We are all here for you! Thank you always for your heartfelt reactions.
I have to add, you look like a kid in a candy store, and I love it :)
just respekt for you and your partner.. and good luck with your little ptx fan that will come
Also, good luck. Can't even imagine the emotional roller coaster you're on right now.
Thank you! It’s hard but so truly worth it if it works out how we hope it does 💛
Oh geez… so sorry to hear that!.. health first!!.. 🙏🏽
Carmen - wishing you the best with IDF / Hormones treatments. My wife and I also went down that path, so I fully understand you taking a week off, but I must admit I missed you last week.
Thanks for the great reaction, and I am so happy you included the “Behind the Scenes” for the video. It makes you appreciate even more that amazing video ❤
BTW - I always watch your reactions all the way to the end because I LOVE the outro music ❤
Wow, my wife and I had some problems at first too. We got lucky and they figure out the problem required aspirin of all things to fix. Hope everything goes well with you as well.
I am sending all of the good vibes your way in you and your husbands attempt to have a baby! I feel your pain, I have only had one child and he was a total surprise and then after that I had at least three miscarriages before my transition from female to male. So I hope you guys have all the luck and you have a wonderful and perfect pregnancy and baby
I am certainly going to say some of the things that others of your followers are going to say, but I just need to say this in my own words.
The reason I started to follow your videos, was that I felt some similarity of what you felt when you reacted to things to what I felt. That made me subscribe, and that was a beginning.
In my world, that means that there may be pauses that you are not able to post, but that will not necessary change your drive to post later on.
I follow several people with many kind of personal problems, and they mostly comes back after a while, they just need a break.
So we just have to wait, and that's all right. You should not feel a pressure to deliver content when your personal life fills up.
I may be bad at explaining, but what I am trying to say is, prioritize your family and your life, and we will wait.
Some will probably give up and never come back, but that happens all the time on this media.
Don't worry, fans will be fans, and you will be amazed of how long some of them stays on.
Just my 50 cents, so do not give up. Many of us are still here.
Best wishes for you and your family.
Thank you for your kind message! I totally understand what you are saying and although I do not feel obligated to post, I just really like doing it and I know a lot of people look forward to it as well so that’s why I sometimes feel a little guilty when I can’t. But I know most of my viewers are very patient and understanding so that helps a lot 💛
@@CarmenReacts , We pentaholics don't give up on our favourite reactors...and you are certainly one of those. I had figured there was something rather sudden and/or momentous that caused you to to need time off, since if it had been a planned holiday or something of that nature, you would have let us know ahead of time. You're considerate that way....that's one of the reasons we all appreciate you. But I was worried, knowing that this sudden "disappearance" was very unusual for you.
I'm so glad to see you back! And I really hope this treatment works for you both and soon there will be a joyous event in your lives. Take very good care of yourself. Best wishes for the future!!
@@Gwennedd Thank you so much for your support, it means a lot!
Prayers for good results. Just to keep you up to date Avi is releasing a new song Nov 17. Has had some teasers and it sounds glorious.
Take care and we are praying for you. Recommend their original, I Rise.
Nice to see you - hope all is ok
Megaphone is just a prop - he does the same sound live on stage without it
No explanation needed, but hoping things go very well for you and your fiancé. FYI, I don't know if you'd be interested, but Geoff Castellucci from VoicePlay has a video on his solo channel about the IVF process he and his wife went through for the birth of their young son.
Somehow I completely missed that you'd never reacted to Bohemian Rhapsody - it's an amazing cover, and they did so well on it! But that couch was a hazard - apparently Kevin fell off of it once, and it tried to run over him!
so sorry to hear your news but eventually will have a beautiful baby fingers xxx
I read somewhere that Avi's talking voice is actually quite deep. He had to train himself to talk higher to make his words more understandable. Best wishes for your endeavor. I had suspected you had at least one miscarriage from something you said in a prior video. I cannot imagine how hard and heartbreaking that is. So fingers crossed and prayers sent.
I became very emotional in my reaction video to Scott’s ‘Four’ at the part where he said he hoped they could have a child together someday and it was just impeccable timing because we just received the news that we could start with our treatment 😊
@@CarmenReacts I am so happy for you.
Five years into our marriage we looked into why we could not have children and both of us had problems- never did have any - wish you two the best of luck - Nov 13, 2023 will be 47 years
🙏❤🙏
You are family to us and my prayers will be with you that you are gifted with more than enough good eggs to keep you pregnant for years to come!!! Being a mother, while dealing with infertility is one of the hardest things to do, and I admire your honesty and vulnerability that you've shown us. Prayers that it succeeds and more!!!
I really hope that IVF works for you. Looking forward to hearing you share your pregnancy announcement with us!
It took a long time to get this made - they just wanted to get it right. And I think they did just that!
Love seeing you light up for Avi! Is it time for you to react to his solo work again?
There may or not be an Avi video coming this Sunday 🤫
Good luck hope you will be able to have your child.
Appreciate your openness and warmth but you never need to explain anything about your personal life that you want to keep private. My best friend had her daughter using IVF and I wish you and your growing family the best!
Praying for your success in getting and staying pregnant, healthy and a healthy baby delivered at 40 weeks.
Look I tell everybody, "I don't want to know, I don't care why, It's none of my business, It will not change how I feel a I hbout you, but if you just want to tell me, I will listen as long as you want me to." I hope you don't mind me saying I will say a prayer for you. Just what I know you from your channel, I think you will make a great mother. I just want to say, I'm always here, I just don't usually post, I'm the quiet type, so yeah.
I know I don’t HAVE to explain myself but I felt I was safe to do so with all of you. Thank you so much 💛
Hope you have success dealing with your fertility challenges.
It can be very hard to deal with physically and emotionally. Again best wishes.
Please react to the making of EVERGREEN PTX are the best at what they do👍👍👍
I have a video on my channel of me reacting to the recording of Evergreen 😊
Check coffee in bed by the pentatonix
Great job on this reaction. Your reactions are always enjoyable. I will pray for you to be successful in your attempt to get pregnant and become a mother. ❤ I look forward to more Pentatonix reactions from you!
I will pray for you and husband.
Sorry, I stoped your video before the behind the scenes.
I will be here every Pentatonix Monday. Will be praying for you and your husband in your attempt to get pregnant.
I pray you are able to get pregnant, my wife and I have four adult children with three grandchildren. Wouldn't like to think what my life would have been like without them.
