I do wish that they stop confusing fantasy and science fiction as the same thing. They are different genres.
The two have been known to overlap. Rebel Moon looks like sci-fi but has gryphons and a drider in it.

@@stevenredpath9332 we could say the same of sci-fi and horror mixing. I'm far from an expert though so unless it's something obvious such as Star Wars or The Last Unicorn I'm not the best person to ask to correctly catagorise a movie by genre.
@@natashadixon8470 genres mixing is not new but it’s good to recognise the differences between them. Blade Runner is a fusion of sci fi and detective noir but everyone recognises it’s a sci fi movie. 2001: a space odyssey is not a fantasy book.
Looking at these trailers, a lot of investors are gonna to lose in 2024.
"Madame Web" teases me the most, the "Final Destination"-vibes plus not so stale characters are more appealing to me than the over the top macho flics. =)

Damsel reminded me of a book, The Hero and The Crown, where the princess was the heroine. This should be interesting. As for the MCU, I am not watching it anymore. I didn't watch Aquaman so not watching the sequel.

Apart from the first movie, not a single one of these is fantasy. Fantasy is Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, Narnia, Dungeons & Dragons, The Witcher, Game of Thrones and so on. The movies on this list are fantasy because all movies are a fantasy, if you want, nothing more. Who makes these lists?!? :)))))
Super powers are fantasy, as are ghosts. most of them are fantasy with Sci-Fi elements.
Though technically if you look at them right, Sci-Fi is a subset of fantasy, as is swords and sorcery which is most of your list of examples.

Well, other than 2 maybe 3, 2024 so far, is looking terrible.
That Damsel shit looks weak. That's the second trailer I've seen where they put a different, deadpan soundtrack over it, in a scene that's visually intense. That won't be in the film, at least in that form. Remember that trailer for Watchmen with the Smashing Pumpkins song? Very similar trailer vibe. Good movie still, but the trailer made it look quite different than it was on release.
I really want the millie bobby brown movie to be good. She is a phenomenal actress and with a great story you cant go wrong. Just please dont be woke

The movie fanbase has been turned off by so many bait and switch movies. Trailer shows what they know the audience want and then the actual movie is some kind of virtue signalling WOKE GARBAGE that there is no audience for. Hollywood is now paying the price for putting out so many garbage movies.
You know why boys and even men like super hero stuff. Because we can live through them vicariously. We can feel justice when we face constant injustice. Ripley in Alien franchise was fanatic and relatable, and you actually got drawn in her character arc. Marvels, new star wars, the new Indiana movie female lead characters have no character and all the same bullshit. that's why they're all bombing massively

I'm trying to ignore all the crappy girl power shoved into every other trailer, but when a lot of the other trailers look like shit from Ghost busters ( won't trust it after how aweful the last 2 movies were) to Kraven (didnt want a young "coming of age" kraven movie. . . Wanted him hunting Spiderman.) and don't even get me started on the Mary sues with infinite power.
I got no problem with good female lead stories, but Atomic Blonde, Charlies Angles, and so many others in recent years with bad writing and unbelievable 1 small skinny girl v.s. 5 big combat trained men is getting real old. I'd plead with Hollywood to give us more Sarah Conners from Terminator and Ripley from Alien, Angelina Jolie action movies, etc. but god know they'd fuck that up also.

The trailer for the Marvels is a lie. The trailer makes it look like the Marvel movies we used to know. But when you watch the movie itself, every time that Capt. Marvel is about to go into action there is a jump cut edit, and there is a flash and she is gone, and we are treated to a chubby teen aged girl who suddenly appears and squels, "OMG! This is so COOL!!", just as if this was some cute Disney movie made for teenage girls, by teenage girls. There's clearly a MCU movie inside this movie, and I might have enjoyed watching it. But I couldn't get past the super cute teenage high jinks they tried to force fees us. Watch it at your own peril. Well, unless you are also a chubby teenage girl. In that case you will probably love this movie.
