I only watch for Caitlin
I don't know about the WNBA holding there own. Consider all their low attendance even just recently as 1 month ago. Remember how empty their championship parade was for the Aces. That even goes for the women's NCAA, Sure, the college game is different than the Pro league but that all goes for the different sports such as Soccer, Football, and basketball.
However, I am interested in Caitlin Clark and her effect. I only watched the NCAA Tournament to watch Caitlin and probably never watch again unless someone else comes around. I will only watch Indiana Fever games to watch Clark, so I am not interested in watching other WNBA games.
Remember all the memes of how boring WNBA games were and how they should lower the basket so they could dunk the basketball to create more excitement. Remember the guy that bought 4 courtside seats and slept through the game. Remember all the videos where WNBA players couldn't score and missing layups, even the All-stars. All that has been forgotten by the scoring and 3 point skills by Caitlin Clark.
I don't even know about any other players. Not even the second pick, Cameron Brink, or the third pick Karmila Cardoso. Much less for all the other players.
I do see all the hate that CC has been getting from all the other current or former WNBA players, which is in stark contrast to the NBA and treatment towards their own young players.
This is quite a shame and will continue painting a stain on the WNBA not create a rivalry. Rivalries are created among players of the same generation such as Larry Bird and Magic Johnson, not LeBron and Ja Morant.
Three weeks after tip-off we'll be saying "Caitlin WHO?!?" The WNBA is where basketball goes to die. It is unwatchable sports entertainment at the professional level. I find it hilarious that these professional sports people have to pretend that the WNBA is anything else with its history.
"Holding their own" lol. What a tool
Her impact will be for her and her alone. Same with Sabrina. Same with Breanna Stewart… Let’s be real.
Nah... They didn't ever do something like this...
