I don‘t think so. Most swiss people I know rather buy themselves a house instead of an expensive car. However, many of the Immigrants first buy an expensive, german car after earning some money here.

Well, that‘s true. Compared to the standard of living in other countries, most of us are rich. It all depends on the measuring scale I think. My car (preowned BMW, family car) cost me CHF 12‘000.- which actually is not expensive here but It would be very expensive compared to income in other countries.
@@christiansprojects-cgmanuf1426 Another factor is that tax MwSt is lower on cars (compared with Germany, for example) - Annual KFZ Steuer is also lower making cars more affordable in Switzerland, in my opinion. But anyway, I regularly see people in things like top of the line Jaguars, Tesla model S, Lamborghini, Ferrari, and American Muscle cars and Full-size pick-ups, which I never see in Germany. I live in the Agglomeration in Thurgau and yesterday I saw a new Corvette at the supermarket. Amazing. I have a fairly new VW Bulli T6 and my son is a little disappointed that "everybody" seems to have one as well.

J Thorsson Why put free into quotation marks? I think Swiss people are very well aware of murders that happen. Newsletters and News in general cover a lot of those topics. How the government spreads propaganda about people not getting murdered is something that I never heard or saw. I think a lot of people are just proud and glad that they live in a country where murder isn’t that common and where you can feel save.
