- Removed some old Carrier air cooled chillers to install a new set of carrier XV chillers. This is a screw compressor chiller that is variable speed.

I worked for York/JCI for years doing start ups and warranty. Carrier is crap. Very tingy and soft. I retired after 31 years. Good work buddy
Rapid recovery is great! I do work with them all the time in New York. Gas conversions on supermarket racks, condenser swaps on racks, ect... nothing but good things to say

Look at all the service work you'll get out of Carrier. They probably didn't get out of the start up without warranty issues.

I agree.....Carrier was not the best choice, but it aint our money to spend. I would have went Trane or York.

Anti-vibration insulators? Flow switch to the output of the chiller? Cold water feed and return collectors? Two manometers to measure the pressure drop in the evaporator? Mmmm..seems that the installation standards in Argentina are different, perhaps better.
I recently replaced a 30RBA210 with a XV and I love the XV. Get carrier to install the cellular modem.
they put them in about a week after the install.
I had issues with carrier flow switches before and I had issues reseting alarms without the carrier app that I had to get approved by carrier to be on.
30 xv silent trouble free unit , will reduce a lot of compressor related work in old reciprocating unit ,

I'm curious to know why you prefer a York air cooled verse a Carrier air cooled? Both are great manufacturers I feel carrier is user friendly and have great resources. Also one thing thats not noted is on the vessels for the heat exchangers the vessels are triple wall plated . Screw compressors are super reliable unless miswired

Why is the cold water hose obstructing the compressor, and maintenance is very difficult....

These air cooled are 200 tons??, I monitor not really work on water cooled centrifugal that are 200 tons

Yes its a pretty standard option for most buildings in our area.
Carrier is the worst!
You are right, Trane and York are better but if you want the best you should go to Europe.
