How To Improve At Pinball FX3 | 3 Major Tips

  • In this video, I will share with you 3 major tips I've picked up from playing Pinball FX 3 on the Ranked Mode. The first tip is that you must practice by playing the table as much as you can. The more you play each table, the more comfortable you get with the nooks and crannies that are specific to that table. You know what targets to hit, how to play the DMD games, the combo shots, etc. Secondly, you need to establish a rhythm with the pinball. If you don't, the pinball will just move around and not garner you any points because it won't be hitting any targets and it will fall down the drain most likely. However, if you establish some sort of rhythm you can start hitting loops and ramps and you gain momentum. Momentum in pinball is super huge when it comes to scoring high. Thirdly, you must grind it out. If you want to progress each season and advance to higher leagues, you need to grind out the league points. It's okay to lose because you only lose 5 league points, but winning will gain you 20 points at the minimum. However, if you keep losing too much it will be hard to gain those points back if you don't grind out some wins. Good luck and I hope these tips have helped you.

    1. Read the Table Guide
    2. Learn the angle's for the ramps
    3. Learn how to bounce back the ball when it drains down the sides
    4. Learn how to activate the ball saves and go for extra balls
    5. Stop the ball and play it cool, don't button smash all the time without plan
That's my pro tips so far

Those are actually really great tips that I should have included tbh! I think Reading the table guide is probably the most important one, thanks for your input :)

There’s a few tips you could have covered here, perhaps in another video sometime down the line.
    - You could cover how table nudging works and the situations you could use it most effectively like saving a ball from draining or passing the ball to the other flipper for a better shot at your target.
    - Deadflipping is also a crucial yet very unintuitive skill used in most high scoring runs. This blew me away when I first learned how to do it.
    - There’s also more broad strategies like going for the core missions of a table to maximize your score.
    - Even basic things like breaking the flippers down into pieces to better aim your shots or how to even make the really hard shots above the very unpredictable slingshots. Wide shots are still something I struggle with.
    - Catching and holding the ball and knowing how to manipulate the table into a hold is also pretty useful to know for the more casual players, really useful for when you’re looking to be more slow, methodical, precise, and all around for looking to improve your aim.
Don’t sweat it though man, you can always make an updated video. Take care. :)
Edit: Oh! I am looking for tips on how to manage multiballs, I tend to panic and not make effective use of them, so I try to avoid those mechanics on most tables.

Hello there Lord Jackass (love the name btw), thank you for all these useful tips. Yeah, I could and should probably add more to this video and include these. I appreciate your feedback and as for Multiballs, I just kinda pretend I'm a juggler in a circus hahahaha and It seems to help.

Do you think picking the right camera angle for whichever table you are on makes a difference to the ball motion physics? Dr Dude for example when its set to some camera angles (I think 8 is one?) without using nudges a lot of the times you are lucky if you are even able to hit the ball straight after its been launched, it just goes straight down the middle but when you select just a slightly different angle you can just clip it enough with the outstretched tip of your right flipper to knock it to and hit it with your left flipper.

@@NewLeaf88 i think fx3 almost nailed it, only the lamp spins faster on the real table. In real life you can see when you have to nudge earlier, like the tiger loop, or when you are stupid enough to take the genie bonus real quick, bouncing your ball straight down.

Legit practiced passing the ball between passing between flippers but realized the window is too small to do it consistently, 2-3 frames even then the game physics treats as if you hit the ball with the edge of the flippers which makes them fast, ball catching seems to work okay most of the time.
Please don't double flip, the game seems to punish you for this. Stop and aim is the strat, get objectives and well time nudges seems to be the key. And grinding is built in the game, there is just no way to get 300 million on the first try.

    • @NewLeaf88
      @NewLeaf88  Před 2 lety

All tremendously great points maman89. Yeah the physics in FX3 make it really hard to do a flipper pass its almost impossible. And very true about the double flipping, if you do it too fast u will leave the gap open for the ball to drain. Taking time is also crucial as you need it to adjust your shots and aim.
