  • As summer arrives, crows continue to dump out and turn over the water bowls around the crow puzzle feeder, leaving them nowhere to soak their prized peanuts. This baffling behavior contrasts with the grackles' wise use of scarce resources at the picnic table. Enjoy!

Hah! It reminds of how a cat pushes just pushes things off of ledges just to watch it fall! Too cute. Maybe a heavier bowl? ❤

I’ve had better luck with sturdier straight sided bowls or full on large bird baths, which are harder to up-turn intentionally or unintentionally. I also sometimes put out dishes of dried mealworms soaked in water, so the birds get some hydration with their food. But that might attract a different population of birds

I'm thinking of getting a bird bath for the back yard... I just want to make sure I get a very high-quality one, as there's a lot of junk out there. In the meantime, I probably should use sturdier bowls on the picnic table. The thing with mealworms is that the starlings LOVE them, and I get enough starling visitors as it is. Thanks for commenting!
