- This week on an all new Brain Leak, Sean and Ethan kick things off with a particularly LEAKY conversation…like, very leaky - no fluid left un-leaked! Next, it’s a harsh pivot to a very real, very important conversation about love. Finally, the boys re-pivot to discuss their Halloween costumes and which scary movies are, in fact, the scariest.

Just a heads up for Ethan - the reason they won’t make an actual Freddy Fazbear’s pizzeria is because Scott Cawthon worries that there would be someone who would try to recreate the murders in the series
really?!
Really? I thought it's because it would be too expensive to make animatronics and basically open up a pizzeria
@@NatWasTakenAgainespecially with the kind of money they’d get back from doing anything like that, a real location wouldn’t be very much to them. hell, the fnaf movie is literally guaranteed to make their money back, to the point they have a deal for multiple movies from the second it hit blumhouse. not to mention, jim henson company already made amazing animatronic puppets, and since fnaf is meant to resemble old chuck e. cheese types, they really aren’t that expensive anymore for that type of
…which is probably true

@@marthmallow7420that’s literally him 😂
Lol I read your comment as I got to their discussion about the 3D printer and he makes the face at around 56:54 😂
Interesting that me and Sean have the same feelings about Paranormal activity and Exorcist 1. Only 2 movies that i watched where I couldn’t sleep because it touched on fears i’ve always had as a kid
Its you oh my
jay is a leaker
that’s so real cuz i’ve watched the first three a million times but the third one was actually terrifying
THAT DUDE is a leaker?!
JAY U A LEAKER NO WAY
My earphones weren't plugged in all the way and everyone in my office heard Sean scream "PIT STAINS"
I love how 26 episodes in they are still spending so much of the podcast deciding what they should do on the podcast in the future, and to date they've actually done two of the ideas only.
Classic Adhd
Plot twist: this is actually what the podcast is about, until one of them decides to move to where the other one is, and execute all of those ideas in a row (and then Unus Annus will be reborn from the ashes ⌛)
I'm starting to think nobody is actually writing them down
Ethan has to dress up as Ken for Halloween. He's got the look!
I found it so interesting that you talked about stomas! Spreading awareness about these are so important. Neck stomas can be done for multiple reasons, but normally it is when the larynx is completely or partially removed. In the neck the stoma is attached their trachea and in the stoma they put some sort of valve so that they can have “air conditioned” air. So that valve is doing the job that the nose is supposed to do. They are still able to eat, as long as they are able to safely swallow food. Hope this helps! This comes from a future speech therapist! :)
Thank you for this ❤ I was curious myself.
Was coming to say this as a qualified SLT so well done!!
Sean fresh out the shower is giving white Jesus 😂😂

As a cat owner as well, my heart was breaking hearing about BB but I’m glad he’s doing better ❤ wishing for a speedy recovery ❤ and just like him my cat also is incredibly vocal and she talks all the time so I feel you guys 😂
The haunting of hill house, while not a movie, did really cool stuff with jump scared in that they had scared laced through out the environment but didn’t always draw your attention. There are shots of ghosts EVERYWHERE in that show and some are more obvious than others but when you catch them- the fact that they are just hidden in plain sight is super effective, and it has you looking at every shadow you can see throughout the show. Super effective imo
i liked hill house a lot but bly manor was way more effective for me. the first time i was watching hill house for some reason i just couldn’t follow it? but that type of horror i love
Yes! Also they break your ability to predict the scares because so often the scary thing in the background doesn't end up doing anything. It's so well done
@@takeherthemoon ooo I’ll have to watch that one next!! Just in time for Halloween :)
Sending good wishes to Bebe! Hope his condition regulates soon!

I adore how they just google stuff occasionally cuz it's such an adhd mood
9:00 For @brainleakpodcast:
Typically, the food pipe (esophagus) and the wind pipe (trachea) are separated by the bottom of the neck. The trachea opening, or Larynx, has a cover on it called a epiglottis...which essentially closes the larynx and trachea when you're eating to make sure food doesn't go down the wrong pipe. That's where that phrase comes from, actually. It comes from the body's failure to close the epiglottis while eating, which can be dangerous if done too often.
Back to the task at hand: The larynx is actually separated from the esophagus. So when people get tracheal cancer, the cancer usually only takes over the trachea while the esophagus is completely out of the way, making eating still possible but making breathing (obviously) difficult. With Esophageal cancer, the roles are reversed. It's the esophagus that's effected, while the trachea is fine.
Another reason to get a neck stoma, is because of partial or full larynx removal (laryngectomy). This is mostly done due to cancer or damage to the trachea. Because the larynx is important for breathing, the hole is made in the throat to allow for people to breathe.
Furthermore: In medical emergencies where the trachea is blocked off via the mouth, paramedics may have to poke a hole in that area to get access to the trachea to save a person's life. It's a useful loophole that paramedics take advantage of often.
If you have more questions, feel free to ask. Here's a fascinating video about a man who got a full larynx transplant!

Hank Green would actually be a very interesting guest to have on the podcast, do it!
13:16 okay ouch, that took a sharp turn 😅
56:52 ETHAN What. The. Eff. Was that?! 🤣
thank you guys so much for caring about triggers. as someone with ocd it’s so nice to have people be considerate of stuff like that :)
I feel like rated R FNAF would be absolutely amazing. It would be horrifying and it would be amazing. It would be very "visceral" and would have so much potential for horror. I think it would also give the option for going deeper into the lore than I think the actual movie is going to go. It would probably be a bit longer though, but also more so worthy of a sequel.
Sending positive vibes to BB, we just lost our 11years old cat to liver issues. It's rough when our babies are sick!

What Ethan said about not knowing how to love yourself hit home for me, I don’t know how to. But I’m starting to go back to therapy next week so I’m gonna try to find out a way to find peace and love within myself
I would LOVE to see Hank Green on this show.
Can’t wait to hear him tell us about him shitting himself.
Ethan's topic of, "Self Love", is extremely relevant for this decade. Especially when we consider enduring the COVID-19 PANDEMIC. I am one of those that feel the same way as Ethan.
Peak horror and my favorite horror isn't a movie; it's the episode of the X-Files where they find something under the ice. It's the episode of Dr. Who where you come out of it never being able to say 'molto bene'. It's respecting the first Resident Evil movie for the claustrophobia of it all. It's the scares I haven't gotten yet!
I love that episode of Doctor Who! Midnight scared me so much as a kid, but now I can appreciate it for its spook!
Shoutout to everyone named Jamie that panics whenever Ethan or Sean asks you to ‘put it up on screen,’ you’re doing great
Ethan's laugh brings me so much joy 🖤🥰🖤
What I really like about this podcast is that, yeah we get the entertaining and funny bs, but sometimes they just ask a question or want to know more about a topic, and then they just look it up. It wasn’t information you were gonna search for for any reason, but now you know it. That’s really fun. You get to learn new things, even tho it might be surface level, that you didn’t even know you were curious about! :P
Related to BB being a talker, I have a husky and he goes to a daycare to get energy out pretty frequently and when he first started going the workers asked me if I talk to him a lot because he would look at them while they talked to him like he was listening and I guess that isn't normal. I had no idea I just thought that was a normal thing but I also do talk to him all day long. Lol
Bro… I opened a fortune cookie and it said “our first love and last love is self-love” and immediately Ethan started talking about him and his therapist and self-love… kinda trippy
I used to work as a caricature artist at Knotts Scary Farm and on slow nights, the monsters would try to impress me with their best tricks and scares. It was quite the blast! haha Imagine sharing nachos with monster clowns and cowboys in the break room
Y’all. Mickey Mouse literally cannot be a bare knuckle boxer. His gloves are surgically sewn to his hands. It was legally mandated after the Playhouse Slaughter incident. Bare knuckle Mickey was too strong for society’s safety, they had to permanently glove him.
For everyone's information, Mickey is very clearly a magic user. Forget fighting bare fisted, he's got magical keyblades, giant paint brushes that spew paint and paint thinner and the Sorcerer's hat! Magic is Mickey's power of choice.
My favourite genre is 70s,80s horror just in general. I love poltergeist, the thing, nightmare on elm Street, alien and the exorcist. If nothing else then the ingenuity and resourcefulness of them. They were so inventive back then. I wish there were more films today as original and creative as them. We have too many sequels, remakes and reboots
For me the animatronics don’t look scary because there’s no texture flaws (aka they look too clean) and they look like people in suits, which just makes me think of Godzilla
Having hank green on this podcast would truly be elite 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
I did not expect a 3:13am Brain Leak but here we are.

You guys should do an episode in the future where you actually talk about brain fluids and what happens if they leak out of your head.
I have never been so happy and thankful for an episode! My day have been so terrible and I just wanted to go home and sleep, until now! Thank you I really needed this❤
as a nurse, when people have feeding tubes, some can still eat as well, just not enough to stay healthy so they’re given additional nutrients via the tube :) also i’ve never heard a throat feeding tube be referred to as a stoma, a stoma to me is the poop bag 😅
I am having a horrific period so I have been leaking SO MUCH I will absolutely contribute to this research.
Im so glad bb is doing better at least💙💚
This episode has been one of my favorites so far, love a good horror and cinema convo
I absolutely love that these videos get posted during my night owl hours. I actually get excited when I get the notification at 2am. I get something too do whilst the world (around me) sleeps
I'm pretty new to horror, but I'd say my favourite horror movie goes to the original Evil Dead. It starts campy at first, but that film gets scarier the longer it runs. This was the first film I saw that actually made undead and demons (which I'm so used to in fantasy games) genuinely unnerving and creepy.
These men make me willing to listen to ad reads but the amount that their ad read comments and tone become vocal stims for me is driving my roommates nuts
The only movie that has truly disturbed me is Annihilation. It's just.. eerie. Definitely a psychological horror. It made me so uncomfortable for days and still haunts me years later. Highkey wish I'd never seen it 😂
As a type 1 diabetic, BB has my empathy. Diabetes blows, and is also such a fun disease these days. We get all these nifty devices we can stick on ourselves and some of us are basically cyborgs. It's great. But also it sucks, especially when you've had it for decades and you're tired and your body is very finicky.
28:25 I think that has already happened multiple times. The Ring and The Grudge had a crossover movie. It was called 'Sadako vs. Kayako'. It came out in 2016. It was ridiculous. 🤣😂
im so excited to see the fnaf costumes on the 27th, im gonna dress up as the desk fan
im going as monty :)
damn this the earliest I have ever gotten notified of a subscribed channel. 27 seconds.
Lovin the midnight leaking

As someone who does not watch a surplus of horror movies, I can say that I know when scares are coming, I can tell when there’s going to be a real scare after a fake one. However, I jump anyway because that’s how I react to sudden sounds. It doesn’t matter if I know it’s coming or not. A dark room and a sudden loud noise makes me jump. I’m not dumb, I’m just jumpy.
I think I'm most excited to see Matthew Lillard in the FNAF movie than any cameo that could be in it and as William Afton to boot. And hey, if it's bad bad and not funny bad at least we have Willy's Wonderland still there as another to turn to.
My favourite horror movies (though I must admit I haven't watched many) are the Scream movies 1-4 and The Sixth Sense. Scream because it's like a cult classic and I love how meta it gets, and Sixth Sense just because that ending was such a twist that I never saw coming but that instilled such a feeling in me that I can't help but love it!
That jump scare in Exorcist 3 seriously scarred me. I worked in a hospital and I was always thinking of that scene in the back of my mind.
ethan, on the question of self love- it can be very helpful to start by seeing yourself as neutral, neither good or bad, it can help turn into a self appreciation
TPN: total parental nutrition is what I believe you were talking about with the IV bag. I'm glad you are talking about other health conditions. The stoma in the throat is usually some sort of trach use as well for people with bad airways or because of other medical conditions.
Colostomy bags can be there for several reaaons. My son at birth until he was three had one because he had an imperforate anus, meaning no opening at all.
Usually if you have a stoma in the throat they have an indwelling feeding tube (G tube, GJ etc)
Thanks for trying to educate yourselves instead of making fun like some do. ❤
Can't sleep i need leak brain 😶
I have a feeding tube, and that hole with the tube in it is also called a stoma. Love how you two will bring up anything/everything.
Happy brain leak day and happy Halloween everyone!👻🎃 my favorite scary movie is monster house (2006)
MONSTER HOUSE!!!!
monster house has always been a slay
57:20 ELEGOO (the 3D printer company) comes from electronic (representing the open-source electronic aspect of the brand) and googol (10 to the 100th power, referring to the huge amount of structural models that can be generated by 3D printers).
As a speech therapist, i got excited hearing them talk about the stomas. PS. people with stomas can see eat through their mouth! Varies for each person. Stoma is the voice box that has a hole in it and theres a tunnel made between the walls of the trachea and esophagus.
I think my views of myself are very similar when talking about personal positive attributes that aren’t connected to helping others. I’m spending a lot of my therapy time talking about how I have a hard time viewing myself as an independent human, rather than only existing to help others. It’s definitely an adjustment!
It's leakin time
41:10 sean was pretty close to the rotten tomatoes score! 30% tomatometer, 87% audience
I can never choose one specific horror movie, so here's my list: Child's Play franchise, Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, Monster House, It (2017), It Chapter Two (2019), Sleepy Hollow (Tim Burton), Sweeney Todd (Tim Burton), and, hopefully, Five Nights at Freddy's
Ok, I realize the boys just googling things would not be interesting content. But it still really makes me happy when they do take a moment to look up some of the questions they have or some of the information they just aren't certain about repeating. Helps educate people and prevent spreading of either misinformation or some sillier urban legends. It creates balance between the episodes that seem to kill of brain cells and the ones that build some knowledge.
got here at midnight. this pod keeps me insane.
Completely agree with Sean on doubling down on the frightening aspects of fnaf and making it R rated
So cool to hear youve gotten into 3d Printing now! Cant wait to see what you build!
Love hearing that Sean is getting into 3D Printing!
I've been printing for years love to see him getting into such a fun and useful hobby~
Had a nice long drive while listening to this on my ear buds. Thanks for helping me chill ❤
Sean’s hair looks so nice like this. This is like my favorite Sean hair lol
Sean’s hair is simply majestic ✨
Just thought id comment again saying how sick it would be for Sean and Ethan to do a Warhammer painting video. Could put in some fun ideas like roulette colour schemes, could be a real good time
16:45 thank you guys SO much for talking about self love. Thank you so much for bringing that up, Ethan ❤ I’m 34 and struggle with this, always have, but got worse after getting diagnosed with fibromyalgia. It’s pretty hard to love yourself when your body is constantly attacking itself lmao
19:27 😰 wtf I didn’t know that avp actor did that?! Lort. Poor cat!
Anyways, thank you both for keeping it real, but also keeping it funny! Keep kicking ass! ❤
Been resin printing for like 5 years, love it. Recently got into DnD, printing and painting minis is fun!
I think no matter what I think I'll enjoy the FNAF movie. Two of my fave actors are in it and I'm super excited to see it regardless :)) I think Matt and Josh will be great.
I'd consider myself a die-hard fan but I definitely want it to be R-Rated. I definitely want the gritty, brutal-ness of what I've always envisioned from FNAF. :))
The scene Sean talks about from The Exorcist 3 lives in my head rent-free. I saw that movie for the first time as a kid (I think on accident but I don’t remember) and even after 20 years I still remember the exact shot. He didn’t even need to describe it, when he said “there’s one scene” I thought of that one IMMEDIATELY. I finally saw it again as an adult a few years ago, and despite knowing it was coming it still unsettled me.
A scene that always gives me the heeby-jeebies though is in the episode of the original Scooby Doo with the mummy that turns people into statues. The “Coin! Coin!” line still freaks me out every time LOL.
leaker and proud. leaking all over rn actually!
I adore 'The Thing'. I got so excited when Sean mentioned it!!!!
I feel so sad for you and evelien and Diabeebus, i cant imagine my cats being gone for 5 days poor baby! Also one of my cats is incredibly vocal, like Beeb, and the other cat often looks confused by it 😅 but its definitely because we be talking to them all the time
The beginning of this podcast was an interesting thing to think about. The main traits I like about myself and always say when people ask me are empathetic, thoughtful, etc. and I never realized/thought about the fact that that they are more to do with other people. I think it's also interesting that those are the traits im more comfortable sharing as opposed to saying that like... I think I'm smart or whatever because, to me, it sounds like I'm bragging; only the ones that aren't about me specifically are acceptable.
At the same time, I think it can be easy to fall into the trap overthinking this and causing more distress than necessary. Ethan said being creative benefits others so it doesn't necessarily count and I disagree. He (and others) is creative because he creates, which I know he does because it makes him happy. If no one ever saw his work, it doesn't make him any less of a creative person. The same can be said for other attributes.
Johnny Lewis also played Half Sack in Sons of Anarchy. Great podcast guys ❤❤ Ethan can't wait for your documentary
My favorite horror movies are The Grudge 1 and The Exorcist 1. The Grudge scared me so much that even the cover art for the DVD sends me spiraling, and The Exorcist is just a masterpiece of cinema.
Listening to Sean vent his frustration with resin 3d printers makes my heart happy
I’ve had pre diabetes, so I don’t quite experience it on the same level, but my mom, my step dad, my step dad’s mom, and one of my coworker friends all have pretty bad diabetes. Blood sugar hypos and hypers (too little sugar and too much, respectively) can cause a lot of issues mentally. Confusion, irritability, blurry vision, headache, trouble walking or talking, a whole litany of neurological issues. My step dad’s mom never got seen for hers, and she was completely out of it almost all the time. She essentially had amnesia and was always a little lost and confused. She had no clue where she was most of the time, and more than likely died from diabetic complications 😢
My step dad had insane anger problems and occasional bad confusion, but he’s got treatment now and changed his diet, entirely quit smoking and drinking, and is doing amazing, and is a totally different, better person 😮💨 I used to hate him because of how often he would yell and belittle my mom and I. He never does that now that he’s healthy.
My mom isn’t so bad, she just gets dizzy or tired, her memory isn’t fantastic but it’s definitely not that bad and idk if diabetes is what effects it
My coworker though is almost always confused and forgets everything, and if she’s having a hypo or hyper, she gets very irritable and lashes out at people when they try to correct mistakes she makes on the job, because of that confusion. She’s the sweetest damn woman but she has god awful diabetes and is in the process of getting the right medication, the poor soul. I worry a lot about her because her blood sugar will get all the way up to the 400’s, which is an absolutely nightmarish number to hit, and she should be in hospital at that number 😰 I’m so worried she’ll end up like my step dad’s mom because of how severe it is. Her and my mom are both 60, but she looks and acts like she’s ten or more years older than my mom.
I was pre diabetic when I was extremely overweight, and I’m no longer pre diabetic since I lost over 100 pounds. My memory has always been awful, so I don’t think it had anything to do with that, but I think I was much more irritable back then than I am now. I had awful mood swings all the time.
I hope lil Bibi (idk how Sean spells it) stays healthy and happy. I’m sure it’s so difficult to care for a diabetic animal because they can’t talk and let you know what’s going on. Bless him ❤❤❤
17:14 i see what you did there, sean. wonderful reference to my favorite news interview of all time
Supposedly, Cawthon has the FNAF movies planned as a 3 part story. So, hopefully, the story is good and has consistent quality.
Im at work in the break room, put this video on and the entire room sat in silence as Jack screamed PITT STAINSSSS
I'm autistic and I can't imagine feeling emotional love for myself. I exist within myself, I don't need to love myself. That's like me telling people to say sweet things to their fingernails. Why? They don't require it. I don't need to romance myself, I certainly have never felt 'love' emotion for my own being. I exist and I enjoy existing, I don't need to feel love for that. I have good qualities and bad just like everyone else.
Lewis was also Half Sack on SOA!! As soon as Sean started telling the story, I knew who he was talking about!!
For whatever reason my brain thought something absolutely horrific had happened to one of them when Ethan went 90’s mode on us 😂😂
Got a call about the passing of a family member halfway through this episode. I guess you could say you helped me distract myself a bit and cheer up. Thanks.
I can always sense the jumpscare coming but still get scared lol I’m like okay now it’s coming and then scream like an idiot
Aww poor BB. sending love ❤️ it’s really stressful when pets are sick and you don’t know why. my cat got a rare skin infection that we couldn’t figure out how to treat, turns out it’s a rare bacteria but that’s only a guess based on symptoms cause all of the cultures they took grew nothing. He’s doing so much better now but it’s scary!!!
Honestly this makes me want to go to opening night even more. Sounds hilarious
I have a 14 year old diabetic cat so I totally relate to BB’s issues. My cat had a hypoglycemic seizure last year and had to wear one of those glucose monitors also. We went through a bunch of similar tests and stuff after his seizure. It’s terrifying. Sending best wishes to BB from Biskit!
Edit to add that my cat is also VERY vocal
