I like number 5 the best, the leading lines in the foreground leads you up to the small waterfall and the waterfall leads you up to the mountain in the background. And then you have the interesting rocks on both sides to balance the image and to create more atmosphere.
Glad you managed to get to Skye and survived the midges, Mads - All photos totally captured the drama of 'The Fairy Pools' but 4 is my personal favourite.
4 & 5 are stunning. such a superb use of the light in a vertical format.
The 6 is absolutly amazing.
5 just because of the angles.. superb imagines throughout… top work
I like no 4 the best.... I like the drama, the scale and the colour of the sky. No. 2 is a close second, I love the perspective, the textures and the golden glow.
Best for me is #4 because of he texture of the water in the foreground and the perspective of the person standing mid-way. Your photography is great and your set up explanations are the best. Thank you Mads.
Number 2 for me. I love sunsets!
My favorite is probably number 4. I love the waterfall in the foreground and also the presence of a person in the shot is just perfect. They are all beautiful shots though... Also number 6 is amazing!!
I love #4. So athmospheric, and that foreground.. #5 same reasons and the sense of depth because of the waterfall.
Mads, I love to watch your videos travelling through the world while in these times we are locked-in in our countries! It helps me compensate for it. Oh, and No. 4 is the best for me, I like the light in the background.
Love them all.
Love them all
4. Just went wow as soon as it came on screen...epic. I think having Sophie in the frame is that X factor, against that amazing colour.
For me 1-3-5,1 I love the bridge and the water the way it flows. 3. The colors in the skie love it and no 5love the mist or fog behind the mountain and the way the waterfall lead you to the mountain, by tge way I like all but yhis are my favorites. Can wait for the next one....
No 4 is by far the best. Super great depth, dramatic clouds, nice water flow.
Thank you for your thoughts Jens! :)
Hi Mads, great video. The shots you took at the Fairy Pools are your best to date. Nice work.
Thank you very much Gary! :)
love all of your pictures, especially #4 is stunning! Having a person in the picture making it even more special.
Superb! Fabulous photos of the fairy pools
No 4 is outstanding!
Three is my favorite. I really love the lighting and enjoy your tip on breaking the horizon to help the composition of the photo. I really like how you present the vlog and show where things are and tips on what to do when you get there! Keep up the great work Herr Iversen!
I love no 6, it speaks to me, puts me there. I'm 5th generation Aussie but I'm a Campbell and mums a McDonald, probably not a great combination. I feel a strong pull about Scotland particularly these areas as my ancestors came from those parts. One, Flora McDonald had a connection to Isle of Skye. So I'm glad I found these videos.
All great Mads, but for me it is easy No6. So poweful in centre frame highlights. The foreground an sides lead you in, with a spectral mountain scene giving atmospheric bliss, I would hang this on my wall!
No 1, caught my 1st salmon on that river. Wonderful memories and thank you for the heart bump and smile.
Number 6, love it. You are a great photographer and guide to follow
I like #4 the best. The detail in the water is just phenomenal. Also like the color contrast with the warmer highlights.
Thank you for your thoughts Krisztian :)
Amazing, thanks
Mads, I love the first shot shown in the video with the person standing at left. There’s an ethereal, atmospheric feel to the photo that is really accentuated by the light glow in the clouds.
5 is the best 😁 Thank you for a nice film.
Another great video Mads! I especially like the number 5 because of the leading line in the water in the foreground. Thanks for sharing!
Number 6! Beautiful drama! I love the short long-shuttertimes
Number 5 for me. Fantastic , I love the foreground leading up to the peak
No5 for me Mads, great foreground lead in and overall atmoshere of the shot is superb.I've been to the pools a few times and always struggled to get a shot i'm happy with. You nailed it.
I love all of them, but in particular I love #4 because of the way the creek water leads you into the waterfall. Great job Mads.
Fantastic photgraphs. You have some skill. 5 for me. It combines the brooding mountain with the power of the water and so much interest.
#1 and #5. I love the perfect water capture.. not too much, not too little and it feeds the composition so well. Stunning series this
Just got back from a 16 day trip of Scotland. I absolutely fell in love with the Isle of Skye. Just love your pictures they are amazing
Very hard to chose a favorite, I like the lighthouse one # 3 and # 5 and 6. For the beautiful drama of the skies and fairway falls.
Number 5 is a clear standout. So many layers, so much depth, so much mystery. Great work Mads.
Got to say number 5, it does something for me.
All your shots are fantastic but shots 1,3, and 6 are my favourites
5 is my fav, I am dying to have my holidays to visit the place. Great video. Thanks!
Going to skye island in couple of months, this video is very useful. Thank you.
Congrats!!!!
Breathtaking views!!!
Excellent work!!!
After 2 years this is still one of my favorite videos of yours. I love the final image and how moody it is. Kind of similar to the kind of photography that I do and love. Can’t wait till you’re able to get out again and do more videos 👍🏻
Oh Mads you have done it again. Great segment. Loved all the pool shots but 4 was the best for me. The eye just leads you up to the mountain.
Thanks a lot and thank you for the thoughts Tom! So much appreciated :)
6. The wide angle gives a much better idea of the grand scale of the vista. I also like the way the white water is spread out more as it falls over the rocks into the pools. so moody and dramatic. I just love it.
Another beautiful country to visit and photograph. I think number 3 has a great composition along with the beautiful light reflecting off the sky onto the water makes this shot.
Thanks again Richard :)
4 puis 6 pour moi. Exceptionnelles. Bravo
I really love number 5. The composition is perfect with matching light in the sky and waters! Truly inspiring as we will visit Skye in August. Thanks for your hard work.
Pretty hard choice, they are all stunning.
Number 4 is my favourite. I love that you filled the frame in the way you did leading to the point of interest. The water streaks are perfect and it is just so beautifully balanced. It was hard to pick one as they are all really fabulous pics. I have watched this series before and ending up going to the Isle of Skye and hiking/photographing it, and watching this again makes me want to do it all over again. I just love Scotland
Brilliant again. Brought back memories. It's been 7 years since I visited Skye. It was July 2010, there was next to no traffic, no tourists and no midges. Times have changed. We stayed at Lower Milovaig, not far from Neist Point. On the road from Dunvegan to Neist Point, you will have passed the Three Chimneys restaurant - had the best meal of my life there. Still can't believe the amount of folk there in your video around Neist Point and the Fairy Pools. Mental! As for my favourite photo, I would have to say either 5 or 6. Love the mood in both of them.
Thanks a lot and thank you for the thoughts and continued support Greig! I'll have to go back one day, then I'll remember that restaurant! :)
Once upon a time it ranked in the top 50 in the world.
Love the light in #3 & #4 and the way the eye is drawn into the photos in #5 & #6. Beautiful!
Thanks a lot and thank you for your thoughts Nina :)
I enjoyed watching your vlog, stunning scenary. The pictures I prefer are 5 and 6. I like the compositions and colors.
In my opinion no.6 stands out, I feel it is by far the most atmospheric and gives a real feeling of being there.
Thanks a lot and thank you for the thoughts Dennis :)
A great vlog . Image no. 4 for me. The drama of the falls in the foreground, the silhouette for scale in mid , and the mountain with the gorgeous light in the background.
Thank you so very much Michael :)
number 5 for me. love the way the mood draws you in but then gets you to pause mid stream and reflect about life at the same time before continuing to the top of the mountain
#2 is iconic, yes. #4 eh. The little bit of green in #'s 5-6 does it for me. I have always wanted to visit Scotland(because I have worked with some crazy Scots). I am from Alaska and seeing the midges strikes terror in my heart. I will be prepared. I like these vids because of the total focus on the photography. No airport, no hotel, no food, just the story about the pictures.
Spectacular images ....
Thanks a lot Ishak :)
I can’t really choose between 5 and 6. If hard pressed, 6. I love the leading lines and balance. But 5 is right there. In that photo, l love the way the sky and water mirror each other. Wonderful, inspiring stuff.
Great job! Love the way that you so unselfishly shared logistic details (albeit highly touristy spots) of locations where you shot. Addition of maps is very helpful. Beyond that, your "seek composition beyond the masses" attitude inspires many, myself included. I love all 6 images, but #4 stands out for me. By adding the lady in the photo added scale and dimension. Foreground details of the textured water flow work so perfectly with the triangular shape of the far away mountain. Simply perfection only MPI can muster! Thanks for sharing (man, those bugs were terrible!).
3, 5 & 6 are my favourites. Another great video
Thanks a lot and thank you for the thoughts :)
#4 breathtaking
3 epic sky and a nice location
Thanks Andreas :)
Wow, great footage!
#5 - Perfect composition, light and mood
Thanks a lot Rene :)
4 and 5... Spectacular, shutter speed, composition, totally different to anything I've seen from there. Absolute genius!!
Just come across this video as I am looking for ideas for when I go to Scotland, all your shots are amazing number 5 is my favourite
No 4 It has a great sense of scale and I love the tones too
Thank you for your thoughts Russell :)
Nr 6!! fantastic photos. inspiring ;)
All the images were amazing but personally number 4 did it for me. The light silhouetting the figure showing scale against the mountain backdrop is wonderful. I also like the portrait mode for this shot
Thank you very much for your thoughts Sheridan :)
love your videos ,for me no.5 beautiful image with fantastic leading lines, keep them coming Mads cheers
Thank you for your thoughts Jimmy! :)
Beautiful! You are so talented.
I love picture No 4 , great movement in the water. Amazing light around the mountain and the girl, at the perfect position!! Great work!!!
Thanks a lot again :)
No. 6. Tremendous atmosphere.
Thank you for your thoughts Elin :)
I liked all the photos, but 3 (for the color of the blue sky), 4 (Sophie being on the left fills in the empty space), and 5 (the S-curve of the rocks) the most. Once again an awesome job.
Thanks a lot and thank you for the thoughts :)
I love no 6 it shows the wildness of the area but it also bri gs a relaxed feeling
Thanks a lot and thank you for the thoughts Phillip :)
Mads, your work is fantastic and inspirational for all budding photographers to make the effort and get out to get that image..
#6 is my favourite from this set and the reason is the atmosphere captured within the image.. Mother Nature at her finest..
Great work 👌🏻
WOW ...another great video Mads no 5 and no6 are my favourites they are both epic and the composition is fantastic ..i just love that dark mood and the way the water flows to the corners of the image ...SPECTACULAR
Thanks a lot and thank you for the thoughts Tam :)
Fantastic photography
Thanks for the videos. I prefer number 3, I love the contrasts between the land and sea, and the greens and warm tones of sunset
Thanks a lot and thank you for your thoughts Adam! :)
Number 5 for me. The portrait format works really well gives more depth to the image, with good lead in lines,to take you right into the image. A lot of people would never even have thought of taken any image on a day like this, but its weather like this that can make the picture. This is skye at its best. Beautiful image in my book.
They are all great but 4 really stands out for me, I love the mood and the toning.
Thank you for your thoughts :)
No. 5 definitely. Maximum lead in to the iconic mountain. A great deal of visual movement but still a simple composition, like a Japanese wood print. I'm a big fan of your composition technique.
I think image 5 is superb. The portrait format really works with the leading line of the flow of water. Superb!
Thank you so very much Steve :)
Number 4 for me because mainly of the person in it giving it scale and I love the light behind the mountain. At Nist I'd have preferred a longer shutter speed & I like the land on 2 but the coloured sky on 3. Beautiful images in all, those midges are a nightmare that you have to experience to believe. Loving your work.
For me it’s 5. I love to shoot landscape in portrait. You capture much more foreground leading the eye into the picture.
I like them all. Another great video mads. I’ve never been much of a landscape photographer but since watching your videos & used your playlist I’ve been out & started to enjoy. Now I can’t wait to go back over to the Isle of Wight & take better photos. Thanks for the inspiration 😌
You're very welcome and I'm very happy to hear you'll enjoy this part of photography more :)
Really love this series of videos. I found you from your Faroe series and have been enjoying the Scottish set. It's nice to see a different perspective on some very well known locations. The last time I was on Skye I gave the Fairy Pools a miss due to the large numbers of people (despite finding a parking spot) and the crowds at Neist bring back memories!! Thanks for putting together such a fantastic series of videos.
The isle is some kind of a miracle - it's so marvellous in all of your shots. It's difficult to single out a most beautiful image, but I can tell your what I particularly liked in several of them - it's the water in the foreground, its texture, especially in No.1, and also the texture of the stones in the same image.
Thanks a lot and thank you for the thoughts Loreta :)
4 / 5 / 6 !! Can't choose. Definetely some of the best shots I've seen from the Pools. You are a photogrpahy god man!
Thank you so much Daryl! I'm happy you like them :)
Fantastic work again Mads. No 4 for me, just love the way the foreground just pours off the image
Thanks a lot and thank you for the thoughts Jamie!
I like number 6. It has good leading lines and I like the mood of the shot. All your images are great and I appreciate your explanations on how you compose and set-up the shots. Thanks!
Thanks a lot and thank you for the thoughts Donald :)
Breathtaking! Wow!
Thanks a lot Biff! :)
One of the highlights of my week is when I get to watch your videos. The images are always on the highest level. Truly inspirational Mads. If I have to pick a favorite it would probably be 4 with 2 coming in close behind. With #4 I love the feeling it gives. The texture and madness of the water with the beautiful glowing sky is such a stunning juxtaposition of moods for me. #2 is just a brilliant calm and relaxing scene. Great choice on the new location for that shot. As always, thank you for sharing!
Thank you very much Justin and thank you for your thoughts! :)
I’m using parts of this video to show my photography class (14-18 year olds) how a world class landscape photographer scouts a location and composes images. Great work! Thanks for posting this!!
Wow, thank you so much! I really do not consider myself a world-class landscape photographer :)
5&6 for me, with 6 just shading it due to the epic scale of the landscape. I love the mood, drama and atmosphere of both. Fantastic shots, and a great video, thanks Mads.
Thanks a lot and thank you for the thoughts Mark :)
4, love the glow behind Bruach na Frithe.
Thank you Fred, it's very artistic, I can't imagine how it should be possible ;)
Hi Mads #4 for me. Loving your videos, thanks for sharing!
