I have a massive soft spot for these aircraft. Served in the raf fire service at binbrook(brilliant station) and at RAF akrotori ,Cyprus where there we also lightnings.
My Grandparents used to live in Waltham. As kids we used to come up from London in the summer, remember hearing the alarms going off. By the time we got out into the garden the Lightning’s were already overhead
