Undertale: Staying Put and Waiting for Toriel / Calling Toriel

- When Toriel tells you to stay put in the ruins she will actually call and check back every 5 or so minutes if you do as instructed. If you put up with this for an agonizing amount of time there are quite a lot of calls. This also includes the top level options for calling her yourself, since I was killing time.

To everyone asking how long this takes, I think the calls are every 5-10 minutes realtime.

He actually puts the time and effort into putting all these things into the game that are pointless and hilarious.
+Phantomhive Partially because there was a lot of excess money after the game was finished because he was funded over 10 times the intended amount. Some of that excess money is going into a sequel and/or an extra little game feature story thing. But yes, I agree with you. Some of this pointless stuff is just hilarious and it's really cool that he would do that, just to entertain the players.

There doesn't seem to be an extra scene if you finish the game without saving once.
that's probably because you earned gold or something.I think maybe toby hid a secret ending where if no numbers increase which includes not saving or getting items/gold or exp or getting hit.Sans asks if you got hurt in the diner and Chara in genocide run mentions they are summoned everytime a number increases.But if this ending isn't in the game yet maybe it will be when Toby Decides to make Hard mode (aka your character named Frisk) an official thing instead of just a demo?I think if you name your character Chara that also counts against getting the ending.is it possible to not have a name?Also this all would probably have to be on your very first ever run of the game since it saves your data from all other play throughs.

if you call her Mom, then flirt with Toriel, she will say someone like (not exactly) "flirting? and just after you decided to call me Mom too" and then at the end of the pacifist run she will retell the story to Sans of the time you called her Mom and then flirted with her.
I did this on my first pacifist play through on accident and it was absolutely hilarious XD
Me too! Except I flirted first, and THEN called her "mom." The dialogue at the end of the pacifist run takes into account which one you did first. Now that's attention to detail!

If you get to the room with the mysterious artifact and call Toriel, there is a reference to this scene where you hear a phone ring from your inventory, presumably because Toriel's phone was eaten by the annoying dog.

I like to imagine thats the real reason you see her in the true ending, not because she came to save you, but because she chased the dog all the way to asgores castle and shot a fireball at it and hit asgore instead by accident. xD

If you've previously done a genocide run and sold your soul to restart the game then yes, Chara/First Fallen child resumes control of Frisk and there's an additional jumpscare where Frisk turns to the camera with glowing red eyes/lunatic smile as Toriel leaves. If you've only done pure pacifist though (or I suppose neutral > pure pacifist) this doesn't happen, and Frisk just stays peacefully asleep as Toriel deposits more Bscotch pie on the floor. Pure pacifism is rewarded with a pretty happy ending.

Toriel's such a lovely character. :) All time favourite character in Undertale, sheerly because she's so sweet and motherly.
