Love that piece on carr. Just goes to show one of the overlooked parts of cricket you don’t need a bat or ball in hand to effect a game of cricket. A great catch or run out can really swing the momentum of a game. Also I am foul of holding on to a bad shot or a poor over and letting it effect the course of a game. This goes to show. You are always in the game put your best foot forward.
Too right Jonathan. Well said 🔥
Gareth using 2019 World Cup final quotes with a village cricket stunner, well played Woodhall Spa, to be fair it's probably the most craziest ending I've seen and I've played and watched a lot of cricket.
😁😁😁
Yeah that was funny
Wouldn't want to be that batsmen that didn't run the second back in the changing room...
I thought that when he posted it as a short last week…but as was correctly pointed out, they only needed 1 run to tie the game, which was enough for them to advance! They didn’t have to run 2…but I get your point, he should’ve run it for the win anyway
@GIBBO4182 they would of only won if there wasn't another wicket, he got out and lost the maych
@@cheesenugget3254 I think the point is he only needed to make the 1 run and then stay to go through, he only got out because the non-striker decided to go for 2 instead of just sitting in the crease for 1, so in reality, the non-striker had run him out, and in turn lost the team the match
I was involved in a league game where the opposition needed about 3 runs off the final over. We ended up tying the game with me diving to cut the ball off from 3rd man/gully and hitting the stumps directly. We had lost about 5 games in a row previous to this so this was an incredible result for us and a bit of a turning point in our season
Incredible! 🔥
Love the fact that you let the final over play out without saying much. Each time the ball disappeared from the right side of the screen I would mutter to myself... "single, single...let it be a single...". Excellent finish. The kind of game where luck, skill, and fighting spirit combined to get the result.
I have been in games like this. The high you get from these finishes is something very difficult to explain. Its the one thing that reminds you of why you love the game so much.
As captain, I NEVER gave up. And I refused to let my players feel as if all hope was gone. If I saw a bowler drag his feet because he felt the loss was inevitable, I put another bowler on that felt as if he could take 6 wickets in 6 balls. I always felt like I could do that. As long as there were balls to bowl and they haven't crossed the mark yet, it was anyone's game. At least in my mind. And others have criticized me for having that mindset. But those same people ended up being the ones I never wanted to go into battle with. I can work with 100% fight with 60% skill, while I cannot work with 90% skill and 40% fight.
We once posted a mediocre 60-over score of 123 all out on a very difficult, dry, crumbling pitch. We were outgunned by a large margin and losing that match would have meant an almost impossible task ahead of trying to remain in the SWD Premier League. The opposition was 80/1 after 15 overs. All it took was a blinder of a one-handed diving catch at point (by yours truly) to send their opener back to the hut after a blistering 60 and a legspinner that exploited the pitch to bowl them out for 120. The leggie ended with 7/12 in 8 overs. We quickly forgot about the 45-degree heat and ended up braaiing and killing tall beers till the early hours of the morning. A win like that reinvigorated our entire season and we staved off inevitable relegation.
Great comment! Really enjoyed reading it. Especially the last paragraph. Never give up!
The way that Gareth acted at the end… pure class!! Was clearly a heated game and to celebrate and catch himself and urge composure from the rest of the team. Quality
I like how even when you get out with a low score you still keep your calm, Others would get angry and lose there temper. But still played well for the balls you were in for. Amazing video ou inspire me to wake uo and play better each day. ❤
Thanks for your support 🙏
I've been waiting for this video to come out forages, finally here it is! Love your content Gareth🎉🎉🎉!

Wow, that’s an incredible finish. Well done on making it to the final day to all the team, and I look forward to finding out what happened! Great video mate
👍👍👍
What a match I’ve watched that runout a few times and I have no idea what he was thinking
Wow what a great match! Thanks so much for bringing it to us Gareth!
Pleasure to play and document it 👌
Cracking sportsmanship from you. 👏🏻
Well done gazza, cracking game :) that clip of your legs was a beauty!
Thanks J 🔥
Great Game, well done Olie!!!
12:24 absolute scenes! Lucky win 🍀
Great stuff gareth, and really nice shirt, and what a finish
Thanks!
That is actually a great rule to split ties in a cup match. Well done for your win! Carr is a great example of always paying attention to the game no matter what - i have seen too many examples of a whole team jumping up for an LBW claim while the batters sneak a run or two. Great game, and good luck for the final!
💥💥💥
Love this, was waiting eagerly! 😂😊
Those flick shots were amazing! Keep it up.
Thanks! Would have liked to have a few more 👌
Love your calmness Gareth at 12:55 while everyone is celebrating. Superb game, surely a super over would of been the way to separate the two teams tho?
Thanks Michael. Yes probably would have been better 👌
Really enjoyed watching it, well done
Thanks!
Truly spectacular!! Can't imagine how the player who took that extra one must be feeling. It was just destined for you guys..lol Always good to be doing what we love👌🏾
Yes very special to be part of matches like that!
Respect to the lad throwing it in, under pressure there to get it in on the mark
Who needs the Vitality T20 blast when you have endings like this at the local cricket clubs! Brilliant
Too right 🔥
The fact he stopped running 😭😭😭. I would not wanna be him rn
Well done Ollie!
Great composure from Olly Carr at the end there, especially after his last over.
Only gripe I have with the competition is the ridiculous countback rule used. Lindum were unlucky and much as it could happen to any team, it is an archaic rule that should be scrapped in favor of a super over.
Might have to pop down for finals day before my family move to Yorkshire and I start my new coaching job. Keep up the good work Gareth.
Yes I'd rather play a super over 👌
We need more people like you to express cricket on you tube and I like the go pro
🔥🔥🔥
Great stuff 🙌
🔥🔥🔥
One of the greatest moments of your life...Cheers Buddy 👍
🔥🔥🔥
Great game G! Unlucky on your dismissal but please always remember to respect the umpire’s decision 😀
👌👌👌
I watch a variety of stuff on uTube, but there are only 2 channels I watch as soon as the videos come out. This is one of the two, that was very entertaining, great match.
Thanks for your support Adrian. What's the other one out of interest? 😁

Love from Sri Lanka
Hi Gareth
You know what the end to that game was crazy it was like my local village club. They are shocking 😂😂
I have respect for Ollie for persevering and a great piece of fielding at the end.
Anyway well done for the win. 🎉🎉
Good luck In the next round
👏👏👏
Yes Oli!
I think i have heard whatever Gareth said at the end in 2019 world cup when England won
👌👌👌
What a great game Gareth amazing game i have never seen that before but i feel bad for the other team because they made a mistake by running for a 2 run but a amazing win by your club Great video 10/10
Thanks Darren 🔥
Very interesting end, a lot of people will point the finger at the guy that didn't run the second run, but actually he didn't need to. As you said in the video, a tie was enough to get though to the next round
Exactly 💯
Hi you make such great content.. can you please tell me what camera / lens are you using for the footage from the boundary... It captures the action so well
Your channel is a gem on CZcams. Cheers 🍻
Thank you 🙏
Good to see you are an RCB fan!!!
Incredible video!
Thanks George 👌
What a match! ❤❤
🔥🔥🔥
That was one tight finish.
Great content
Keep up the good work
🔥🔥🔥
Hey Gareth, love your stuff. Do you watch the ball right onto the bat? I find I lose it if it’s full and straight so I’m hitting drives but not really watching the ball properly. I can watch the ball the whole way on cuts and pulls and defensive shots, but drives/clips I lose it. Any tips?
reckon u gotto keep your head balanced and try bringing your weight a bit more forwards when playing straight.
Ohh man that was just WILD! Congrats on the win!
Thanks!
What a finish😅👍🏻 absolutely nail biting finish😅
🔥🔥🔥
Crazy😮
One of the craziest finishes ever
Unbelievable scenes, what a game well done to both teams. Whats going through your mind at the end there mate? In the background it looks like you are trying to calm everyone down.
Basically didn't want everyone celebrating before we knew the actual outcome. Useless celebrating like mad people if we ended up losing 👌
@@canyoucricket hope the beer tasted good after that game
You need to give yourself a lot of credit as well , the way you calmed the team down after the game showed humility and respect to the other team. But my word what a game!! Reminds me of Lance and Donald in that world cup game....
Thanks, but please don't remind me of that match! 😂 Still scarred!
@@canyoucricket yup I also don't enjoy that memory. Keep up your amazing Chanel!
2:44 l love it youth kids keep it up
Really enjoy watching Ollie play cricket
Class👌
Love the wicket keeper not even looking for half of it but still taking a great run out
👌👌👌
Hi Gareth. Thanks for watching me on Tuesday.
🔥🔥🔥💪💪💪
keep up with content best CZcams ever
❤️❤️❤️
Crazy
You bat really good
Watching you from Pakistan, 🇵🇰 love from our lovely country
What is the reason behind saying ''middle please'' after coming to the crease to bat?
So you know where to stand before delivery is bowled
And it helps the batsman play the line as he's in the same position every time
Cool! Great game! Just watched Matt Carter take a great catch in the vitality blast game. Do u reckon u could do an interview with Matt Carter and PJ. Both class players.
PJ is a bit camera shy but I'm sure Matt would be keen 👍
7:30 It was actually a bump ball. Slow it down and you'll see it and hear it too!
Wow I saw the run out clip a couple of days ago, didn’t realise it was you and the spa 😂
👌👌👌
Gareth mate, love the videos, what league do you play in for Woodhall Spa.
Keep up the good videos
Thanks! Lincolnshire Prem 👍
Can’t believe I’ve witnessed Cooky turning one!!!!
😂
What a couple of matches! I actually thought you was batting incredibly well in the 2nd game, especially against that bowler who had a bit of pace. If im being honest, i dont think you shouldve posted the run out previously on the channel as a short clip, because it kind of spoilt the excitement as i already knew what was going to happen. Nonetheless, great video big G!!
Thanks Said. Yes was feeling better in the second match. Thanks for the feedback. Will keep it in mind for the future 💪
Hi Gareth. Having watched you for a while it seems as if your game relies on timing and finding gaps for ones and twos. Do you find it is difficult to adjust to 20 over batting?
Yes. Not my favourite format but still fun to have a change from time to time 👌
This is written as a TV show:
1. Ebbs and flows throughout both innings
2. Crowd/player reactions are class
3. Using an obscure rule that nobody knew to decide the outcome!!
🔥🔥🔥
Hope you will give your best in next matches gareth and will visit Sri lanka for tour , ❤Love your videos keep going From 😊😊
Thanks Amila 🔥
I had the most insane game too they needed 2 runs off the last over and they were chasing 210 in 30 overs. We all thought we were done because 2 runs in one over is easy. I came to bowl the last over and we got a couple runouts and then they needed 1 off 2 with in wicket in hand. I was bowling to the set batsman on 85 and when I bowled, the ball sent the stumps flying. We clutched up and we won the super over. Amazing game where you never give up till the last ball is bowled
Absolute scenes 😁 amazing!
I’d really love to see carters stats at the end of this season, seems like he’s having a heaps good season so far, should add in everyone’s stats at the end of season or top 3 in runs and wickets
👌👌👌

So Gareth becomes an RCBian, you're welcome man ❤️
Gareth!!! I hit 25 (46) after 1 (1) last week, after averaging under 4 last year! My legs wanted to die, and unfortunately we lost with 10 balls left (defending 138 in 35 overs)
Good effort! Hopefully some more runs on the way 🔥
@@canyoucricket dude I nearly collapsed for about the last 20 balls lol 😂. Besides I wouldn’t have got more than about 12 or so if not for the runner we had to use
Amazing! 🔥
thought it would of been a super over.

Hi
I used to play cricket few years ago, Then i stopped playing for 3-4 years.
In the past month i started playing again. But have lost my touch i am getting beaten by the ball and struggling to middle the ball.
I am practicing daily but no improvement. Could you give some tips to help me improve my game ?
First 4 years is a long time so be patient. Your touch will come back. Also sometimes we forget the basics. Watch the ball and get your head moving in line with it 👌
@@canyoucricket Thanks ❤️
👍👍👍👍👍
Great end comments
I very much doubt that you got that shirt “randomly” like we would, unfortunately
Fair enough 😂
ayyy another RCB fann
Shades of Australia v South Africa 1999 World Cup semi-final at the end. Confused batsmen and a thrilling tie...
I'm still scarred by that 😥
❤
Yeah i want batting tips from a guy averaging 2 this year, where do i sign up!
🤣🤣🤣 it hasn't been a great start has it. Form is a funny thing. Hopefully get some runs soon! Surprised you're still watching to be fair...
Shouldnt there be a super over to decide?
Tournament rules unfortunately. I was up for the super over 👌
Funny thing is, when you know if you draw you could probably win. Why was the keeper too close to stumps ultimately left the ball for a single.
Wow that was one amazing game. All scores level and had to return to the rule book. There are other ways to decide, eg. 1 over per side and the most runs win. Woodhall Spa won and thats what counts. 1 team has to lose unfortunately
Yes really unlucky way to be knocked out. Luck was on our side 👌
lol batsman thought it was four 🤣🤣
