We have visited Saint Lucia many many times. As holidays go, it really is paradise on Earth . Fab holiday resorts, the bay gardens beach resort and the landings are superb . Rodney bay an absolute gorgeous beach with nice shopping centre including maces. Every Friday the groceslet street party takes place. It fab bathing in the la soufrire volcanic hot water. Loads of super restaurants. Pigeon island is very relaxing. A trip around the island is recommended. However the best thing of all is to take a small speed boat trip around the Caribbean sea. O boy heaven on Earth.

Do take motion sickness medication when going from the Airport to Windjammer Landing. That ride is reminiscent of my youth traveling around the mountains of West Virginia. Don't go to Dukes during the Friday night street party if they are serving Barracuda. The fish was so boney it was unbelievable. Do go on the land and sea tour with Seaspray cruises. That alone was better than the Friday night street party. It was unbelievable.

August is very hot, it’s also the rain season, with approximately 7inches of rain expected across the month, so make sure you prepare for some showers and thunderstorms. On average, daytime temperatures in St Lucia hover around 84F (29°C) at this time of year, with highs of 88F or 31°C in the hottest part of the afternoon. How safe is the island?
Hi! Thanks for watching. I can only talk about my own experience, the times when we visited the island. We NEVER felt unsafe. However, as in any country you travel to, petty theft can occur, so please adopt safety measures such as:
Avoid walking alone after dark
Avoid isolated areas
Avoid showing signs of affluence or wearing expensive jewellery
Avoid carrying large sums of cash or unnecessary valuables
I was thinking of staying at the Royalton or at Cap Maison any advice or suggestions?
Hi thank you for watching! Looking at both, my vote goes to Cap Maison which seems incredible, it has a stunning location on a cliff and its own secluded beach. Also in 2022, it was voted number 7 in The 25 Best Resort Hotels in the Caribbean, Bermuda, and the Bahamas in the Travel + Leisure magazine.
If you’re traveling with kids, the Royalton seems more family friendly. And it is close to shopping and nightlife.
Both look like an awesome choice!
I’m sure you will have an awesome time whatever the choice.
(And if you’re as crazy as me, you could even do BOTH, if vacation time permits… 🤪)

May pose the question , or let me express concern for this country.
As a visit to the island my own country , something is talk about in relation to crime ( death- murders) rate in the lad.
Is the news repeating itself ? Why is there or is there the high rate of this crimes happening in the land . Is the country changed hands , as an independent land still under British elements. Is what happening or told happening something to distinguish te land. And if I should add for those who know and enjoyed the cour of this land in all its jeuness.
Saint lucia is a small island country.

We were on RC Voyager of the seas and we ported at St Lucia. We took a water taxi for $6 to a small market
It wasnt what we expected. As we started to walk down the road heading back to ship a person walked up to me and my wife and asked for money. He got angry when we walked away. Never again.
Oh so sorry to hear you had a negative experience. Sadly there can be agressive or angry people anywhere. The times I was in St. Lucia, I’ve only met friendly people. Hope you have a better experience next time. Stay safe!
