Nobody was bashing it because it was a better format, it was mostly UEFA strongarming every other team that they would lose access to the CL if they dared to join Super League + some of the other teams and UEFA especially being afraid the money would disappear in creator/big clubs pockets and not be there to play their corruption contests with 😂

If most of the Barca players are fit then it won't be a problem.

It’s a really confusing system, and it’s going to be hard to keep track of which games are interesting and which aren’t. However, the fixture list looks more interesting than the previous system. Also, maybe it’s just me, but I find it refreshing to see a new meta. The old one always felt like in order to advance that you had to win both home and away against the team from pot 4, win the game at home against the team from pot 3, and salvage a draw against the last team.
It is still basically the same thing, geared for the big Clubs to get through and the weaker ones to fall by the wayside.
Do not be fooled by the new Format.
Come the Quarter Finals. it will still be the same old same old, with the same old same old Clubs being there.
Lets face it, it is not about making the CL more exciting, it is ALL about the money.

I worked it out this way....
As long as they do not meet before the Quarter-Final and knock each other out, we are looking at - Real Madrid, Bayern, Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City, PSG, Barcelona and either Inter, or Juventus and that is all one needs to know really, just enjoy the rest of the games until then.
So basically the same old same old, just like every CL Season :0)

If we are being serious we need to take 9 points at home( Atalanta, brest , young boys) and 6 points away from home( Monaco, zveda) in order to qualify easily without playing play offs .

@@titotata262 Let's no go where we consider all the teams tough and we celebrate a win against Alaves - but Atalanta has a style similar to Borusia and Liverpool, full pressing and energy, it's going to be very hard to us to play against them cause big teams like Barcelona are used to play against small teams who will always defend and all that they have to do is to attack again and again until they will score but you saw the beginning of the game against Rayo - when they actually pressed us Barcelona was caught off guard and not knowing what to do.
Pretty much what happened last year against Girona, when we lost both games cause we are not used to play against an aggressive team.

With 36 teams congested in a maximum of 24 points, it is mathematically guaranteed to have some very tight standings where every single match WILL matter.

Why nobody considers bringing back Nico Gonzalez from Porto?
He has the same characteristics, same position and same style of playing as Bernal.
His last season was decent and this season he already has 1+2 in 3 matches.
And as I know we have the buyback option for 18 million.
He's young, talented and own academy player - the best option for me

"Here we GO" i am afraid injuries may deter our progress like last season. Bcuz we are stretching thin with our major players injured. I believe experience is needed bcuz the other younger players wouldn't be able to cope when we get into the competition proper.
Quite a complicated format, however: group stage games look exciting. It sometimes bored me a bit to face teams twice in the group stage. Now every game of the group stage has some excitement to it.
TBH I like it on paper so far. Everyone gets to play 7 different teams while only adding 2 games to the "group stage". Makes it more exciting, let's see how it actually plays out.

I love the new system i simulated it a lot and tried it on Football manager. It works well and smaller teams really have a chance to perform instead of playing against a big team twice or 4 teams

Under this new format, it means for any team to directly go through to the Round of 16, they'll have to win at least 5 games, 6 would be best. Anything less than 5 means, they'll have to play the play-offs unless the goal difference comes into your favour.
This new format looks interesting, but I would have much rather preferred UEFA to keep the knockout ties as single legged.

Tbf Barca played well against Bayern under Xavi. Biggest thing is when the energy dropped off at the end of the first half and at the 60th minute and then Xavi crumbling under the slightest pressure mentally.
It's not good for the players but for us fans it's great entertainment we will enjoy the Barca project

I like it, this will give the other teams chances to win instead of all the giants club win all the time. It will be competitive cause it only one game vs each team. Omg! When I first heard about the plans for a new UCL, I hoped it was a joke. But it is not. It's a real nightmare!
I honestly don't understand it. The UCL was an enormous succes, and it really didn't need this overhaul. I just cant understand why they they would change such a winning formula. And certainly not into this... horrific creature of a tournament structure. It's asymmetrical as hell, unsporting in the way that clubs play different games but are still competing in terms of points, it has more games squeezed in which i'm sure will translate to even more injuries for our favorite players. An finally, it's just overall very confusing to know whats up and whats down. It all seems too random.
