Is MPC Stems ACTUALLY Worth Using?! // Putting MPC Stems to the Test

- The hype around MPC Stems has been huge, and I have been very eager to use it ever since it was first announced. On the surface, MPC Stems seems like it would completely change the way beats are made going forward, but does it sound good enough to be viable? In this video, we'll dive into the sound quality of MPC Stems, comparing it to true original stems.
I used the MPC Live II as the tool to separate the drums, vocal, bass, and instrumentals.
I hope you enjoy this video, and I hope the video provides some insight into the capabilities of MPC Stems for your own production. I will be in the comments, so let me know what you want to see in a future video!

Great and honest review. Thank you!
Sup Ryan glad to see you making beats. Nice drum loop btw
Thanks for an HONEST assessment
I liked this video. Thanks for the great work
good idea to use the multitracks for comparaison !
Fantastic
I used it with my Mpc live 2. It sounds good. Stemmed with my chop still on. Fire.
Thank you
MPC stems is good. Not completely clean, but eq and using the best parts helps. Dope review

❤️💛💚 bravo 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
11:04 sold.👊✌️
Great video, thanks! For me Stems sound like a very low quality CZcams or Mp3 algorithm.... They should have fixed all the bugs first.
Yes Sir😊
Is this feature available now?
I got an Mpc one a couple of weeks ago, is it a firmware update or something?
did you sample that master into the mpc first
I am new to this I have A MPC live When I go to program edit My screen does not look like your manipulating stems within your sample I don't see where I can tune in and out each stem what i'm I doing wrong. Thanks in advance.
There are definitely sound issues . But still the stems feature opens a huge treasure chest full of vocal instrument and drum chops . Better have it than not at all
MPC stems is DOG shit on the computer. They need to release it for standalone
do you have MPC 2 sofware for your computer...if not it will cost you $99.99 unlike the stem that only works for 6 days trial before you buy mpc 2 software
@@MPCHustle sorry I’m just seeing this, but yes I have the MPC Live 2. I wish they would’ve given us standalone the same time they gave it for the PC. I already bought the MPC Stems for the PC, just waiting on it to drop for standalone.
@@LilRampage93 Oh, wow, an update, I have used it on controller mode, and to be really honest, I dont' want the standalone to eff with my Live 2 because it will probably eat up some RAM on my Live 2, which I don't care for and I did want to get started on using my MPC on Controlller mode, so this was an incentive for me to keep it and after the tria, which was nonsensical since I had bought it full price, Im a happy camper, it takes a few tries, but you will used to doing the job recordin the sample on the PC, then choppin, doing whatever you want on your Live 2, which took took me about month going at it for about 2-3 days a week as I stil have a life, lol. but you will love it as I do and I love that can actually make stems out of my own recreations and make them sound as though I played an intrument, so I am a happy camper :)
Any body notice they low end sound lil different like muffled with new mpc update?
Could be useful for live shows where you don't need to worry about every single noise
Mpc has its own sound
3:29 Okay, I already stand corrected. The drums sound WAY cleaner than I was expecting
Yeah they sound way better than I was expecting
The best stem separation is from FL Studio 21.... Akai stem is okay but for clean stems, FL is the way to go!
What is the first track?
i use it with oriental musique thingd like Doukali it was a desaster ....
My stems are coming out sounding distorted… can tell me what I’m doing wrong
Not a fan of any stems but, I’m preemptively liking and commenting cuz you somehow always come through🫡💯
Well, is it worth using?
I've seen people using something to level up the stem and bring back the pure sound
Elaborate?
About as good as any I have heard. I have Koala stems, tested RipX ( it found Fineas doubling Billie on some recordings, so it's subtle enough, and it can analyse notes as well) in it's old and new version. And non of them can recreate the multitrack. But that is not the point. If you do sampling you put your own set of musical instruments on it. Especially if you use vocals. Or take them out. So it's cool. For what you use it for, making a remix, it usable enough. But if you can get you dirty little hands on the multitrack recording. No contest there. And the reverb you hear is (mostly) an artefact of the AI algorithm. You can/could take that out but for that you need way more expensive software (RX10) for direct AI fourier editing like you could pull of in CoolEdit (now Audactity using the plugin dereverb) back in the day. But since this is an artefact and not actual reverb, it can reduce but not eliminate the effect.

What headphones are those
Aiaiai
Can the MPC convert the stems to MIDI?
Dunno never used it
Sounds like stems isn’t picking up plugins or EQs
Steems are not yet fully developed and are nothing new. Even though Akai tries to sell us water as wine. Too many artifacts, the more you remove the duller it gets. The current machines are overwhelmed. The next generation of MPCs could do better with this
Is it better than serato?
@@pgo5602i don’t thinks so serato is clean
Serato ain’t that clean. There’s dedicated software that does a better job than Serato
@@MrMotion54 I find it to be clean
Your definition of stems is wrong.
You described a "Multitrack" not "Stems".
Do you really think the MPC’s processes is powerful enough to pull this off standalone?
100% not
my question is did you have to purchase the MPC 2 upgrade, I got a trial run for six days and now no temps I know I needed the mpc 2.14 update, which I did get but I'm able to see the stems part on the controller or even the software so Im guessing I do have to purchase the mpc 2 software
Oh, and you did not have to buy the MPC 2.14 upgrade, it was free, I was just being anxious in trying the STEMS feature, and I can say I love it, :)
Try the bass when there's also a kick.
To be honest I’ve tried multiple stem separation apps and none them give you crispy clean drums
stems was made in hogwarts
Are you serious? the quality is hot garbage
