I couldn't disconnect the red screen connector, tried everything, it wouldn't budge. More force and I would've broken it. Had to put everything back together repack the swivel mount and its now sitting in my garage shelf until I can figure out what to do next. I was so disappointed 😆😬
I have to send a big thanks to you for posting this install vid. I used it, step-by-step as you did to install the swivel mount. Well worth every dime spent on this upgrade. I thought the lower screen position would be detrimental for me, but now, it’s perfect! Took me about an hour or so because I’d watch, pause, do. Watch, pause, do until finished. The most difficult part was threading the new bolts in place to secure the screen. Felt like I was cross threading the bolt, but that was because of the “anodizing” on the threads. Once I broke that “anodizing” everything went perfect. Not loose and the new angle it right on the money!

The screen is lowered an inch and a half. Now I have to look down a bit, and I can only see half of my phone. I wish it was the same height as the original.

I received delivery of my new Model Y in June 2023. I had purchased in advance a number of add on products including the swivel mount. When telling the Tesla rep of the items, I mentioned the swivel mount. I was informed that disconnecting the screen from the vehicle would void the vehicle warranty. He advised to install that item after the warranty expires. I decided it wasn't worth the risk and returned the swivel kit. Something to consider if you have a Tesla that's under warranty.

That is not true. There is a law protecting the consumers for after market parts installed on new cars. Google is free you know.

What I was told at the Tesla dealership was true. Not ALL after auto market parts qualify for what you claim. The computer and screen is an integral component of every Tesla. Disconnecting the Tesla screen from a new vehicle is a violation that could void the warranty. Your prerogative if you want to jeopardize your warranty but it's irresponsible to advise others it's ok.

Does it click in place or not when you move it? Have you found it to move on it’s own or rattle? When you said OCD it hit home. If it’s crooked it will drive me nuts.
Did you loosen the nut before installing it? If you did, you need to tighten it. I didn't touch mine, and it was fine.
How are you liking it with it so low? Unfortunately the screen looks too low with this mod
I personally love this mod. Yes, it's lower and does block phones while charging, but you should be looking at your phone while driving anyway. I'd suggest you keep an eye open for a car with this mod at a Supercharger and ask that person if you can check it out.

I appreciate the effort, but please don`t half-ass the instructions. I see you totally glossed over the difficult parts of the install with some careful edits.
The difficult parts are the exact parts that people come here to learn. eg. how to unclip the temp. sensor plug or how to install the temp. sensor bracket.
