I hope so too. Getting 3D Dot Game Heroes up and running on RPCS3 is a real milestone. It'll be awesome if PS4 emulation can eventually get to the point of running DriveClub. And eventually after that, emulate PSVR games using a supported PC VR headset.
Dude what on earth, did shadps4 just switch to maximum overdrive? Or is it a thing where they worked really hard on the big picture instead of specific game compatibility and now all the pieces are falling into place?
I'm hoping it's like Swisse cheese in terms of getting games to boot and run.. As in they hit a game that was having issues booting, fix booting issues and 35 games now boot etc..

@@waxcutter9813 like Gary said, if you managed to get 1 game booting, you might as well able to boot some others. this emulator is in the foundation building phrase and the improvement is universal, unlike the more mature ones eg. pcsx2 and rpcs3. those have solid foundation and the only way to improve is to dive into specific games and make game specific fixes. but that's just my speculation tho.
The problem with retro achievements is for the vast majority of games the achievements are just not fun. Often is just « beat a level without being damaged » or crap like that. Plus it’s way too random like some games like the onimusha series have like -200 points each and other shorter games have like 1000.
No damage is acceptable at some point, but some speed run achievements are bad like you have to grind too much time for a single achievement. At this point some people making achievements for the game just for their fun, not for the people who just want to have fun
@JustahumanBeing-pk7xt yea that happened with me and platinum trophy hunting on Playstation consoles. Eventually it got played out with some games online being dead so you can't even get said trophy anymore etc. It's too much hassle. I just enjoy the games right now.
Might be worth noting a bunch of the skin packs are 30% off as well, if you're interested in those. Also Rivals 2 is supposed to be launching sometime in Q4 this year, which might mean more sales on the horizon.

Usually when emulating any console you need hardware twice as powerful as the original, but for early emulators that still need to be optimized properly you'll probably need hardware 3-4 times better. So probably like a Ryzen 5 5600X or better, and an RTX 2070 or better. Maybe one day when the emulator gets better all I'll need to play demanding 3D games is an RX 580
I think if Link is in it, it's going to be something like a split story. Like you can play as zelda and either when the story calls for it or if you can manually switch to Link. You will switch characters to solve puzzles that affect the opposite characters world.

Nobody can just go in and delete stuff from a repo if setup properly. Also, you have to submit a pull request, it has to be reviewed, and only if accepted by reviewers can updates be applied to the code base. They have committed changes as recent as two weeks ago. So I don't no where these rumors start but they are silly.
By the way, here's something for the news - if you're a Prime subscriber, they're giving away Suicide Squad (the piece of shit DEI one) for a very short time (I believe the window is only 2 days open).

Yeah, I was talking with the ShadPS4 team some of them didn't know about Shenmue 2 one of them was genuine confused. They was like "...Hmm..? What game is that?" I told them is like one of the best Dreamcast games that's out there for it's time. 😆
People didn't really get to play it on DC unless you lived in Europe or patched the DC version. Most played it on Xbox. Now Shen 1 is a different story.

I would understand if we were getting new updates to the emulator, but it's literally people trying different games on the same version

I agree. This is why I never liked achievements like that in general
